  • Sorry if I’m giving off a bit of a negative vibe😅 But don’t worry, I’m doing good now!
Moms, we all have those days when we just don’t feel like cooking. And that’s okay-lazy is totally fine. Go lazy, keep smiling!😊
Hi there! Welcome to my channel.
    ▼About Umami Mom
I'm a Japanese working mom living in Canada.
My toddler, Yui-chan, was a severe picky eater, but now she can eat almost everything after I learned about "umami." I only cook quick and easy Japanese meals.
I would be happy if my videos could help someone who is looking for kid-friendly meal ideas.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!

I could feel the tiredness across the screen, especially when your baby squeezed between your legs. Touch out is real sometimes.

Thank you for your comment! ‘Touch out’-that’s such a perfect way to describe it!😂 You’re absolutely right, especially on those busy days. I believe these little moments will become precious memories in a few years. Thanks for watching!

I saw your video today. You asked what to do to prevent Yui-chan from eating bones. I would give Yui-chan chicken in pieces without bones. I think she is too young to eat a chicken bone because she doesn't know the difference between bone and meat.
I hope you can do something with this advice. With loving regards from the Netherlands, Maria

My answer in Japanese, with help from Deepl: 今日のビデオ見たよ。ゆいちゃんが骨を食べないようにするにはどうしたらいいかという質問ですね。私なら、ゆいちゃんには骨のないバラバラの鶏肉をあげます。ゆいちゃんはまだ骨と肉の区別がつかないので、骨を食べるには早すぎると思います。
      このアドバイスを参考に、何とかしてほしい。
      よろしくお願いします。

Thank you so much for your kind advice! Not giving her bones is definitely a good approach. After constantly telling Yui-chan that bones aren’t for eating, she finally stopped trying to eat them! I guess she just enjoyed the texture. Kids are so unexpected!😂

@@umami_mom Children are certainly unexpected and unpredictable sometimes. 😉Repetition of explanations is definitely a good approach.
One of the reasons I came up with this suggestion is that I myself choked on a chicken bone as a child. My mother was able to retrieve it with her finger. It was not a pleasant experience. Good to read that she is so quick to take it from you. 🙏🙂

That's a smart idea! Releasing the valve always feels like defusing a bomb 😂 Let me try it next time! 😊
