Thanks Maiju, much appreciated. I'm always unsure about potato harvests in buckets as I always feel there should be more 😂 They tasted good though and there are a few more buckets to go so I'm grateful.
I think that's a great idea as mine certainly seem to love the heat. The butternut squash is now growing across the ceiling of the polytunnel! The only problem is I'm getting female flowers but no mails! Slightly frustrating.
Nothing beats new potatoes does it and it sure is a great time of year Graham, so much starting to ripen up and make its way into the kitchen. Thanks for the feedback 👍.
for a non smelly easily storable comfrey extract, fill a wheely bin/bin/barrel with comfrey (50/50 with nettle for a balanced high mineral feed) put some scrunched up chicken wire in the bottom to act as a filter, add a tap/drain, weight the material down with a rock/bricks, collect runoff, bottle it, I dilute 16:1 feed fornightly; other dynamic accumilators (i.e. high in minerals) that landowners will be happy for you to take include willow herb (fire weed) and himalayan balsam, which also makes excellent high mineral compost!
@@veggieplot to give you some idea of amounts, I get ~4 gallon per year from a 50L bin, I harvest comfrey & nettle 3 times in the year from the same patches of plants to refil
I chop comfrey into small pieces and use it as mulch for my tomatoes and other plants. It decomposes when watered, providing them with nutrients, and it doesn't produce any smell.
I've never been able to grow so many tomatoe plants so close as I always get blight and normally by August I start losing plants, I pull all the stems below 18 inches but it still returns every year.
That was a full value and professional video from start to finish so thank you. I so enjoy your vlogs.
Thank you Brenda, I'm glad you enjoyed it and the feedback really helps too.
😂😂 so just a short list Chris. You’re having a fab season so far and a wonderful harvest in the making. Have a lovely weekend, Ali 🌞☔️🇨🇦
Cheers Ali, yep, I got a little carried away 😂😂
The drip feed is working well and the polytunnel looks amazing.
Thank you, I think the drip feed system was the best investment as it saves so much time.
Fantastic video, thoroughly enjoyed it 😀 💚🌿
Very nice potato harvest at the end 🎉 Well done 👏

That's a decent potato harvest and I normally put Dwarf beans into my buckets stratight after each potato harvest or carrots.
I put a banana plant into that one 😂😂
The Squash looks amazing and I made a low tunnell for my Squash and pumkins and growing far better with some extra heat.

Thank you for the great idea. I've seen something like this using a barrel and I might just have to give it a go.

A great idea. I also add it to the compost heap from time to time.
@@veggieplot same I put some in the compost
i have a load of flowers on a few of my tomatoes plants but no fruit .as of yet .the weather here in cork aful it is wet and cool
The polytunnel thermometer was 8.5C overnight the other day, crazy cold for this time of year. I hope your tomatoes perk up soon.
@@veggieplot ya coming on now they are tks
I'm having hopless germination with my Dwarf French beans and out of 3 packets and 2 sowings I've only got 5 plants.
Arte the slugs and snails getting them?
@@veggieplot The slugs are a massive problem this year and the sparrows are eating all the slug pellets like never before.
I've never been able to grow so many tomatoe plants so close as I always get blight and normally by August I start losing plants, I pull all the stems below 18 inches but it still returns every year.
Is that indoors or out?
I get blight indoors and outdoors and it normally wipes everything out by September and I grow my
Tomatoes in 4 separate indoor growing spaces.
Oh my, I thought I had it bad, indoors too, I feel for you. Fingers crossed for this year.
