0-60 tests should not be done with family and friends sitting in the car. Its typically done by a 150-180 lbs adult. You both together might weigh 450+ lbs. There is a reason why professional drivers weigh less. You cant get the best 0-60 with all that fat around your belly. LoL! But, because you guys do it for fun, its ok. we can live with it. We wont take your numbers seriously. But, in all, its fun to watch your videos. Keep it going guys!
There's a lot of trolls here so I hate to make more negative comments but I don't understand how you can be a "car guy", create your own channel dedicated to the passion, and not even know something as basic as the HP your car has? Also Roman's talk about the cost per second with the 0-60 time was total noob talk. Maybe it was mostly sarcasm, but two seconds is a huge difference. Other then that, not bad, nice presentation and video quality. Keep working on it & continue having fun.
Here's a thought: Get what you enjoy and what is best for your budget! My first car was a V6 Mustang, and I absolutely loved it/drove the hell out of that car. I was able to pay it off on my own, and afford the insurance. I had a LOT of fun with it. A year ago, I bought a '14 GT, and the difference is night and day. I will never be able to go back to a V6, as just the roar of the engine alone is enough to put a grin on my face. That said, I still respect V6 Mustangs, as should everyone. V8 owners shouldn't hate on V6 stangs, and V6 owners shouldn't talk shit about V8s. It's sad to see the hate among Mustang fans. Then there's Chevy VS Ford VS Mopar. (One of my best friends has an 04 Termi, the other has a '12 Camaro SS, and we each respect each other's cars. Well... the Termi is the winner as of right now...) The only time I hate V6 owners is when they put 5.0/GT badges on their car. Same goes for GT owners that put GT500 emblems on their car. At the end of the day, we should all be unified with one goal: to seek and destroy ricers. THAT'S what muscle cars are about. All this said, if you honestly believe that the 5.0 sucks, you have NO idea what you are talking about, clearly no knowledge about cars, 0 credibility, and probably drive a lawnmower of a car.
Yeah but then you'll kill the reliability of the car and also a lot of its engine life , and also you'll be reaching the motor power limit before building the motor , the v6 will just never complete with the v8
Thanks for your comment. To be honest we're only getting 70,000 youtube views per day on our channel. But because of your helpful comment we're going disband the total TFLcar team today and get into duck breeding videos. Thanks so much for your sage advice!
I test drove a 2013 GT Premium with 4,000 miles on and that car wanted to fly. It was really fun and the exhaust has been modified to sound louder. They are asking 29,900. Is that a good deal guys?
brightsun11 I did some research online today and found a red 2014 GT premium with leather, brand new for 29, 800.00. The dealership is about a 100 miles from where I live, so I may just check that one out. What do you think of the 2015 model?
Ravaniscool . hate how the 2015 looks. im getting a 2014 mustang gt in two months. fully load premium, with every options expect backup camera, which is 41,000$, brand new. just look up the mustang on ford website, and click up on the build my car feature on the web site. and there months ago I also found a 30,000$ 2013 premium gt, so they are around. it just depends on the options
Ravaniscool . get it buddy, if you want a performance car and you don't want to wait for the 2015 i would say grab that one, great car, and a good deal you sound like you're getting. You should also check with fleet to see what they have to offer if its a Ford dealership. the car is very nice, comfy, and a performance bargain, at its price point no other new vehicle will be able to match you, I took a GT premium silver w/ebony stripe, louvers, silver/black wheels, I forgot the exact packages from here in Cali to Vegas in 2012 when the 2013's were brand new and I can honestly say this. I opened her up big time on the I15 even going up to 130mph at times lol. There is nothing like driving a driver's car on a road trip. the driving dynamics, the sights, the sounds, people looking at the car while you're driving and at stops, man that was a whole lot of fun! i really liked that car and trust me you will too.
Ravaniscool . not a fan....its a nice car...but its getting away from the mustang/ american muscle appeal and going more for a eurotrash bmw 3 series wannabe. my opinion...it should not be called a mustang. Ford is basically puckering their lips to kiss european consumer ass while giving the American market the middle finger.....ironically...the europeans like the Mustang as it is specifically because its different then what they are used to.
Awsome! cant wait to see em! cmax is a good car im sure (then again im a huge ford fan). Based on your mashup review of the mazda3/focus helped me get a step closer to choosing my vehicle and i bought the 3. the focus was nice just couldnt get over that center stack (w/o ford touch) and the mazda is really really fun to throw into corners! I am always glad to see you guys put new vids out!
I agree. But what is the point of buying a muscle car without the muscle. If you don't want a v8 you would look better on a genesis or something like that. I would never buy a v6 camaro, mustang, or challenger
My 2014 v6 Mustang is faster stock for stock than any GT produced before 2011 soooo your comment doesn't make a lot of sense. And Mustangs and Camaros are pony cars not muscle cars. Do some hw homie
I got a 2013 gt with very few upgrades and is pushing almost 500hp. So you do your homework. You can supercharge a v6 and still won't get what a stock gt has
Germain Gonzalez And once again you prove you know nothing about Mustangs. A pro charged V6 would wipe the floor on any 2014 bone stock GT. It wouldn't even be close. If you don't believe me AM posted a pro charged v6 video with a dyno and quarter mile time on their website. You can also search on youtube. There are many videos posted of supercharged v6's taking out stock GT's. haha Go back to reading your 5 issues of Motortrend that you read occasionally and don't open your mouth unless you know what the fuck you're talking about noob. I swear fake ass car enthusiasts pretend to know everything about cars but all they know is v8>v6. Brochures will only tell you so much. And stop lying about what car you own. You're just like every kid on my block
Thanks buddy! We're chomping at the bit to get our paws on a Focus ST. Ford is bringing us to Los Angeles to test the new C-MAX models... so maybe the Focus ST is right after that. Fingers crossed. Thanks for watching!
Wow, 30 percent loss of horsepower is a lot! And of coarse there is the issue of weight...that can have an effect on 0-60 times as well. Adding an additional 250 pounds into a car like the V6 Mustang will I'm sure would cost an additional second or two as well. But you know what you guys look like your having so much fun in the video what does it really matter! Keep up the good work!
enjoyed the video, thanks for taking your time out for it. Interested in 2005 v6(mods later in life) was an all around Monte Carlo guy.. Idk guess I'm a trader for better
Both are great values. If you have the extra 10k and can afford to pay higher insurance and more gas, then go for the GT. But the v6 is pretty damn good too
You can clearly see you intentionally didn't give it gas in the V6. When you're trying to do 0-60 you don't go for a rolling start and then floor it when you get to the V8. Also you can't use two different drivers why on earth would you think that's fair?
Very good observation you made it fair as possible, as they were more bias toward the Generic Toy being faster and that's not true as they should've at least made it a level playing field and used an 3.7 V6 prem. or the performance pk.
Sorry bottle2lip, but if you have no video...it never happened. This is UA-cam, post a video and prove it...otherwise you are just another anonymous UA-cam poser posting whatever words you want on this video.

That comment was completely unnecessary and could have been put very differently. He has a point. You even said yourself you guys need to learn to drive. And yes the V6 is plenty fast for daily driving, but if anyone is considering a V8 then they will have no problem spending the extra money. Beautiful cars. Terrible "hosts" and terrible drivers at that.
You know we could have easily cut out that part of the video where Nathan blows the shift but instead we decided to go fishing for trolls with a little bit of troll bait. And guess what...we caught whopper.
Thanks! I always mess with the traction settings. Modern automatic transmissions are a bit touchy when you rev hard and I'm pretty sure the V6 automatic would have launched harder if it let me spike the rpm. As for the GT: when I dumped the traction control, it was all-or-nothing on my launches. With more practice, I could knock time off to be sure. As it was, it still pulled like a freight-train. Thanks for watching!
I beg to differ, there are LOTS of guys driving their respective cars with true skill. Being a professional has nothing to do with it, learning how to extract the performance your car offers is what give good numbers, practice, practice, practice is all I have to say if you wanna run great "magazine" numbers....
Yes, skinny teenagers have 40k out of highschool to buy decent sports cars, pay the taxes, registration, gas and insurance. The high altitude kills the times, but they constantly say that, so don't be surprised. Also, they didn't edit the bad driving out so what's there to complain about it? The point is, you see the percentage in time difference from 0-60 between the two cars. That won't change at any altitude with any drivers.
Yeah, I drove the v6 when it first launched and was very surprised at its power and how SMOOTH it was....oh the smoothness. But I feel visibility on the sides and back is hindered by the large quarter panels. I picked up an 06 passat 2.0 and am pleased wothvthe silkiness of the manual 6 speed and how confident the revs are....plus I can fit people in the back! Keep it up guys, 'haters gonna hate If you're ever in sam diego id love to meet up with you guys.
Its a tough choice. I was there making the same decision a year ago. I drove a 2011 V6 and a 2011 GT and found in normal every day driving they were basically the same. It you want a car you can take to the track then the GT is worth the extra money. If its gonna be a daily driver I think the V6 is a better bet. I would love to have both but my budget would not stretch that far lol Good luck with whatever choice you make.

I used the Sport (Select) Shift and could've sworn it took me around 6 seconds to get to 80mph. And 6.14 seconds for the 5.0 (GT).. a 412hp car.. what!!?? LOL
2 people in the car. 1 mile above sea level.
archinuk417 Which means 1 second and a tenth to two tenths slower than at sea level.

And to further prove my point, my chevelle has 500+hp, so your comment is full of stupidity.
TheCowGoesMoo o thats where I am at right now. Wanting to buy the v8 but at the same time I cant afford to spend so much on gas. So I might go with a v6.anyways when it comes to ladies they dont know the difference. They go based on the looks :D
Hey Roman - for every 1 hate message you guys get there is atleast 100 better ones. keep up the good work. tbh my favorite auto reviewers ever. you and nathan are fun to watch and always interesting/entertaining. Also the vids are informative and real life testing unlike half of the other ones. hopefully you guys will test the focus st when it comes out! thanks for all the fun!
I was dying when he started failing with the gt
No! How can millions of viewers be wrong!? I think we're okay without your wisdom... honestly. Glad you're watching; happy we're entertaining you!
Crazy how much of a difference the altitude makes. My 300 HP 1999 GT 5-speed did 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. This was timed with a datalogger, so it's accurate.
I just wanted to say kudos to you guys for keeping in the failed 0-60 tries in the final cut.
I love the rims that are on the V6 one that you guys have. And, I actually prefer the sound of the V6 to that of the V8. Nathan actually demonstrated the sound difference quite well, hahah!

Just had to say this is one of the most exquisite comebacks I have ever read in the comments haha! love it, and love the review.
2 sec difference its great . driver make difference too. i have a 2007 gt and a 2014 v6 and the v6 have more hp and runs the same, ultimately if you need the v8 sound to tell you your a man ...you dont deserve even a bicycle

Bullshit I beat a 3.7 with a 98 4.6 GT auto
@@nismoaltima1326 lol...you are dreaming
@@Mattyyyyokdmsbansmsmsns not dreaming. Not my fault the v6 suck ass. I even have a video vs a g37. It beats me but not how I expected
2011 5.O Coyote there’s not a chance that you beat a late model 3.7 with a 98 gt... the newer v6’s literally have higher torque and hp specs with better launch as well. Let’s not be silly
I really enjoyed the video. You guys seemed to have a good time making this.
Way more than $10k difference here in Soviet Kanuckistan. BTW, you should get track times for the new Mustangs. Betting the V6 wins.
Robert Drake nope. V6 still makes 300 hp. GT is at 435

S550 Danny You’re pretty silly if you think you can’t lose to anything other than v8s in a 5.0 lmao. Maybe no v6 mustangs will beat you, but how about you race a gtr?
I own a 2012 gt with 3.73 rear end and brembos. What a great car with premium pack for 32k new. Never get tired of the power or the sound especially with the gt 500 mufflers
Nathan destroyed that poor transmission....Go back to the driving school ASAP!
Love this... Real people, driving real cars. This would be like me and my buddies. Would love to have a job like this.
This show sucks
I like it. You can a) Make something better, or b) sit on your ass and complain. You already made your choice.
Hahahahahaha
I test drove the 2010 Gt and the 2012 V6, While the GT with more torque was quicker it really wasn't nearly as huge a difference as you see here. I chose the V6 for better gas mileage and insurance rates. Damn near as fast as any prior GT and is as quick as the Mustangs of the 60's save for a few exceptions.
3:42 that gear grind!

I remember my first time driving a manual. Also I would run some practice trials to make sure I could perform when ready with the camera. Just saying.
Keep it going guys!
with 3.73 and the auto I hit 60 in 4.5 with my v6....wtf lol
+a Ma prove it
+a Ma Your comment is bullshit until you post a video with vbox data.
Stock wit 2.73 0-60 comes in 5.1. Look it up. U mad?
+a Ma how could your v6 be faster than all our GTs? Oh and you said 4.5, not 5.1. So like I said, prove it
a Ma
I hit 60 in under 3 seconds, so no I'm not mad. I just don't believe you.
The V6 was 0-60 MPH in 415 ft
The GT was 0-60 MPH in 297 ft
A difference of 118 ft
$10,000 divided by 118 ft = about $85/ft
Worth it to me!
keep up the great work, the everyday comparisons allow us a different perspective and change from the car magazines, a pretty unique vid
WOW! lol can't drive a standard to save his life.
Nice.
for 6,000 u could by a turbo and roush exhaust. And hv good sound and beat the Gt.
Yeah I love the V6, its underrated. Idk about the sound though
Bill Peirce can't never beat the sound of a v8
Yeah but then you'll kill the reliability of the car and also a lot of its engine life , and also you'll be reaching the motor power limit before building the motor , the v6 will just never complete with the v8
disbadjazz z twin turbo the v6 stang on low boost will take the gtr.
I am your father ! yeah but will only last maybe 100miles
Thanks for your comment. To be honest we're only getting 70,000 youtube views per day on our channel. But because of your helpful comment we're going disband the total TFLcar team today and get into duck breeding videos. Thanks so much for your sage advice!
Learn to drive the gt can do 4sec
They are at a mile above sea level so power is lost. That's why all their 0-60 times are slower than what the Internet says.
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Thanks for the great comment!
I test drove a 2013 GT Premium with 4,000 miles on and that car wanted to fly. It was really fun and the exhaust has been modified to sound louder. They are asking 29,900. Is that a good deal guys?
its a steal. a new premium cost 35,000$ and a fully load v6 mustang cost 30,000$
brightsun11 I did some research online today and found a red 2014 GT premium with leather, brand new for 29, 800.00.
Its worth 10k a second.
whats up with all the bad comments, these guys are awesome
this is aweful
You spelt awful wrong. If you’re going to insult do it right.
@@Unknown-oz7xs calm down there Mr. Spelling bee champion.
The v6 in the right conditions can really do 0-60 closer to 5 seconds.
You can supercharge a v6 and still won't get what a stock gt has
And a proper mustang should have that v8 rumble. Whats the point of having a mustang if it sounds like a nissan
Germain Gonzalez lol bruh the nissian gtr has v6 with twins on. guess they need a v8 to hun?
Thanks buddy! We're chomping at the bit to get our paws on a Focus ST. Ford is bringing us to Los Angeles to test the new C-MAX models... so maybe the Focus ST is right after that. Fingers crossed. Thanks for watching!
That's fair as we just waisted 5 seconds reading this bad cliche of a comment.
No Honda comments? I'm surprised.
LOOL honda accord coupe v6 manual 0-60 is 5.4 secs i woudnt bother talking if you knew anything about honda motors lol.
no lol just the attention seeker gave him what he wanted and some knowledge
***** a dildo probably
Bailey Pierce You're an idiot.
Japanese cars are also lighter as a rule, and that really helps with acceleration. I have the 2014 v6 Mustang and it's almost 3300lbs, pretty heavy.
To be honest you know what we hate, people who are anonymous, too lazy to make their videos, and don't even know what they are commenting about.
You're not just paying for the 2 seconds. You get a better overall interior, an upgraded sound system, and the bragging rights of a badass 5.0!!
Only a very good standard trans will beat an automatic, no matter the driver. New school automotive real world driving.
Just did 6.3 in a 16 V6 convertible
But the v6 is pretty damn good too
The GT does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. This was just not played right.
The strength, the beauty
awesome video! I have an 08 GT Phantom and LOVE my V8. I couldnt own a V6. The sound and power of a V8 is just to addicting. :)
@@BACON-l3t What's even funnier is that both cars have a track mode that's used to measure 0-30, 60, and 100. Doing all the work for you.
Thank God my 2014 Mustang is an automatic after all they now have a recall on the Chinese Manuel
Sorry bottle2lip, but if you have no video...it never happened. This is UA-cam, post a video and prove it...otherwise you are just another anonymous UA-cam poser posting whatever words you want on this video.
It's actually 420 HP. Not 412.
if I buy a mustang I don’t want a v6
Great! Glad to have you on board! You start filming those videos and we'll help you edit them. I'm sure you'll make the most out of the topic, just like you optimize the time you're given each day. Remember: you need to produce at least one video per day. I'm sure you can do it.
Ouch, poor driving, my friend. V8 takes the win any way.
I hope he knows how to shift gears by now...
Keep it up guys, 'haters gonna hate
If you're ever in sam diego id love to meet up with you guys.
I would love to have both but my budget would not stretch that far lol
Good luck with whatever choice you make.
Tell you what. Why don't you come to Denver @1 mile above sea level and see if you can get a Mustang GT to go under 5 seconds 0-60 MPH. Please do it and we'll happy to post the video. But you might want to watch this video first before you make yourself look even more uninformed. watch?v=HDg8_mrvkRo
No way...not @ 1 mile above sea level at the wheels. For heavens sake just watch the video before you make another silly comment.
Please bring it to Denver. We'd love to see you run 5.4 at over a mile above sea level. We'll even video the run and make you a star. Please put up or shut up.
The best thing about this video is the Jethro Tull t Shirt - Living in the past -
V8 is the way to go. The features that come with the 5.0 are much better when to comes to performance handling and stopping power also not to mention you got the looks with the engine to back it up.
It's okay! About four years ago we realized that my bulk equals two golf bags, six footballs and a small cooler. So, The Fast Lane Car uses me as a unit of measurement. Thanks for watching!
