We tested a loaded V6 Premium automatic.

    Options:
    Equipment Group 203A - 995.
Gotta Have it Green paint - 495.
    6-speed Automatic Transmission - 1,195.
Electronics Package with Navigation - 2,340.
    RR Sensing System/Security Package - 695.
    Comfort Package - 650.
    V6 Performance Package - 1,495.
    Rear Video Camera - 240.
    Base Price - $26,200
    Total of Options - 8,105
    Destination & Delivery - 795.
This review, like most of our reviews, includes our trademark MPGomatic 0-60 MPH acceleration test.

I just got a 2013 v6 automatic grabber blue, love it!!! Wish I got the premium but didn't want to pay extra, car was lightly used. Traded in my 2006 v6 mustang and I've noticed a massive improvement in performance. I can't justify paying the extra money and loosing the mpg to a v8 as I don't race or anything. And having a v6 keeps my insurance payments low. Paying $400 for car a month and $80 a month for insurance. Thanks for this video!

The mustang is a very great car for this price. You cannot compare a musclecar with an regular streetcar like bmw. Bmw has higher quality and it's more expensive. Dude, go drive your honda and leave us alone. We love this mustang.

That Cyclone V6 is more powerful than most old V8s. I have a variant of this in my 2010 Ford Fusion SPORT and it's a very fast car. It's basically a "Baby SHO" my Uncle Dave got a 2014 Mustang in the exact color of this one in the video and its also the V6 Premium trim awesome cars! 👍

I gotta say, this review also helped me pickup my 2013 v6 with performance pack, mca, and I lucked out as the one the dealer had included the leater recaro seat package. I put intake an a full magnaflow street catback exhaust on mine which really seemed to wake the car up. as well as getting a coupe of mpg more out of it.

Wish I could test higher, but the state speed limit here in NJ is 65 MPH, so I use 68 MPH as the target speed. Higher speeds knock the numbers down. All of the gasoline sold here contains 10% ethanol. The big trick is to minimize lane changes, keep an adequate following distance, and touch the accelerator pedal as little as possible. Drive with the instant MPG gauge active ... this will help you learn when you can lighten up on the pedal. It really does help. :)

I test drove a 2013 v6 and 300hp is still plenty of power and I came close to getting it but the sound of the V8 is entoxicating. I really like the v6 because mpg is always a plus but 420 horses in a gt paired with a roush exhaust. Let me stop I'm starting to salivate

Yes that is stock those 4.6v8 are great. Just some mods make it's crazy fast for less then a 5.0. you can even super charge it for less then a 5.0. I have a 06 GT it's very fast with Cold air intake throttle body and tune. The new stangs are great cars though but Don't diss the 4.6.

The 2013 v6 is a good car. The power output is great. Ford has done a good job with the engine. They just need to work on everything else. Its good just it could be better. They need to work on driver dynamics. You feel like your sitting in a coupe with just an engine to brag about. Seating position does not make one feel connected with the car. The door hinge is to close to the dash. Needs to be further front so it opens more for access. Door speaker is bulky and takes up space. Keep improving

Cmon yall, every one loves the GT. Ok yeah I do too, but I love that ford made a competitive v-6. Look at the intake on this thing! Take that restrictive crap off and put on a Cold air Intake and free up like 6hp. Put headers on it, upgrade Exhaust, add a Procharger or 100 shot nitrous, if you need more power. There you have a Camaro killer!

The V6 Mustang with the performance package is the best performance value on the market still(just under 25,000 not counting rebates/deals!). The driveshaft issue has happened to about 3-5 cars on video. The stock driveshaft combined with 3.73 gears has been the culprit seemingly. the stock gears available from Ford with the stock driveshaft do not explode/grenade at 130-140mph. Ask me how I know.

That is because they are a very, very docile, and safe 2:73:1, lol. They can go up very high miles an hour because they offer very little tension - if the rest of your car can get that fast, you won't be accelerated in the mid range and especially the low range with them.

    • @TooManyChoices1
      @TooManyChoices1 10 років тому +1

I include the 3.31 gears that are a factory option from Ford for the V6 too. Mine has 3.31 gears and has been a few times over 130-135, and multiple times over 105-110, and has not grenaded yet, and a decent number of 1/4mile sprints too.

throw the procharger supercharger kit on this and it actually gets 33mpg while putting down about 450 hp. driveshaft swap is required though as the stock v6 driveshaft rips apart above 120 stock, so figure about 100 possibly with all the extra horsepower and torque the supercharger brings to the table

I have a 2012 Convertible v6. How do I know if i have the performance package? I have the premium stereo, and I can' imagine bigger tires could fit on it, I can clearly see the brake calipers...but is there a way to know by the VIN Number?

You need to make almost 3 times that $800/month for even a base almost no options new Mustang to be comfortably affordable for you. I traded my Dodge in for my new '13 stang for 5 grand and (according to them for some reason) no credit history, monthly bill on the car is $400 for 72 months, taxes and financing APR will get you!

Even the auto equipped Mustang should beat your sentra se-r spec v, stock vs stock, even though it's a much heavier car. You didn't say if your Sentra is stock, but it's already geared aggressively while the mustang would need 4.10s in the rear end to get the most out of it and still get decent hwy mpg.
Your se-r spec v runs 4.45 gears to get it moving and gets worse mpg than the mustang. There's no free launch...

ford should do a rwd small compact like corolla size in put this 3.7 in there that would be a Hell of a everyday car good mpg and its four doors I'm all for 2 doors (I'm getting this next as my second car 😎) but ik more teens my age prefer 4 doors but they want the power in fun of rwd drive in compactness and good gas mileage this a good example I don't mind 30 mpg high way and 22 city ik if I baby it really I can get 25 city I'm js this is nice but 4 doors would've been a cool option to

In 2015 Mustangs should get a turbo 3.7 and an independent rear end , If they have to change it then copy the original 1966 to 68 Model even though it will be a mistake to fix what's not broken .But Ford screwed it up in the middle seventies and eighties , so history always repeats .
