Sorry to any GT fanboys😬😂 That car's grown on me a lot in the last half a year but I just couldn't get myself to have it be the top official one here with that price
yeah, agreed...gt's utilize 32 valve dohc engines and this puts them at an advantage over ohv SS's, and scatpacks..they have more torque top end, and this is what put crowds at risk when a driver is inexperienced since you cannot gun them alot of times like you could a 392 or 6.2 ss and not suffer the repercussions.....the mustang gt's engine design is a winner if you're willing to break the bank, and also willing to spend money on gas...same time tho, a cheap 12-14 genesis 5.0 is an utter beast and also is 32 dohc engine but less than 30k...newer g80's are too heavy tho at 4500 pounds...
I have a 3.7 it’s. Grown on me but when I trade in I’m going for a 11-15 coyote
Price shouldn't matter when your title is fastest American V6s. Don't know why people get there panties in a wad over the price of a hand built super car.
@@notimezforgames1465that... Had nothing to do with the original.comment, nor the video. What?
Gtr r35?
I owned a V6 Camaro and now own the V8, and Im not gonna lie the V6 is more nimble as it is lighter but the V8 is just a second faster 0-60. Only real difference is interior quality and acceleration otherwise I low key miss the V6 the lgx is a great engine but ngl the V8 sound can't be beat especially in the LT1
Damn man, most people never talk about that side of it but you're right, it's hard to beat that LT1 sound! Still though those V6's are quick for the price
I agree brother, my mom has a 2010 Camaro RS with a 3.6L LFX V6 in it with 304 HP and 278 Ibs of Torque and its a blast to drive.
I had a built 1987 camaro rs and it was so fast, that nobody believed me that it was a V6. Supposedly it was bored .030 over but I can't say for sure. It was a really fun car
It’s a Camaro lol
I took a challenger rt to 100mph from a 40 roll in an lgx manual before he pulled on me. The top of that cam comes on like a turbo… I own an LS3 corvette now, won’t go back but there’s a soft spot in my heart for the v6 camaro.
We own two modified ATS-V's and I can tell you they are blazing fast. One makes ~630 whp and the other ~700 whp. Add to the fact they only made about 4000 of them so they are pretty rare. I think these cars are GM's best kept secret ever.
We gotta see a video of this....for verifying reasons
@@johnnyjrguzman Video of what? It's common knowledge how much power these cars make with just a few parts and a tune. I have videos on my channel.
@@johnnyjrguzman Look up schmidty tuned ATS-V
You…are a man of incomparable taste. Those Caddy’s are AWESOME. Props. 👍
I have the ATS 3.6 and it’s same hp as my 08sts v8. Just as quick too
I had a 13 V-6 Mustang, did a bit of work to it and had myself a pretty fun car to zoom around in.
That's awesome man, it's easy to see why they're so popular
I had a 2011. Got 32 mpg highway at 80mph, sounded great, and was a beast over 3500 rpm. Only complaint about the engine was you had to floor it to get any performance. Below 3500rpm, and it felt like an anemic 4 cylinder. Probably explained the great gas mileage.
@@tokuzumi1 Big problem was it was geared to high , think it was a 2.91 or something close. Always wanted to swap it out to a 3.73 but never got the chance.
@@joshuasanderson1007 I got the 2011 V6 Performance Pack, with a 3.31 Traction Lok diff, instead of the non-PP 2.73. Also switchable traction control, GT suspension, 19" wheels with wider rubber. Car mags said it took 0.4 seconds off the 0-60. Unfortunately, still a 2-piece driveshaft so governed to 110mph unless you switch out the driveshaft and defeat the governor.
1991 GMC Syclone 0-60 in 4.3 sec. It's old but would beat most of this list.
But well in the junk yard they are!
I had a 'nonsporty' 0-60 video from a while back, I'm pretty sure I included those and the Typhoons
I’m driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 GT with the 3.5 v-6, but I’ve deleted the resonator, added a Stage 2 chipset (40+ hp over stock) and a Cold Air Intake from K&N, putting power around 260-270 hp. Fully loaded and only 100,000 klms, it’s a great runner. 🇨🇦👍
I have the same car- havnt modded it yet. Only 54k miles…
Stage 2! Dammm
I can attest... As a young father, a nice full size sedan with a high revving V6 isn't too much to ask for and is better than a lot of what we had 10 years ago.
Hell yeah it is, no more 100hp engines lol
That's why I love my 2017 Impala with the 305hp 3.6L.
@@catsaregovernmentspies I'm jealous. My 8th gen accord has 275 and I thought that was impressive. Then I realized that there were other V6 engines with over 300.
@@overlord6815 you're not missing much on the speed side, those 8th gens are pretty damn light and that makes up for that 25hp imo. I really want one of those 9th gen coupes with the manual trans 😫
Your 8th gen is quicker, the power to weight ratio is better
3.6l LY7 V6 on a 2009 Chevy Malibu does a 5 second 0-60 stock, costed me 7,500 for a one owner 09’ LTZed w/ 75k miles, still the fastest V6 front wheel drive in the road 🤷♂️
MKZ 3.0 owner here, it's pretty quick. With just a 93 tune I'm 4.8 0-60. People don't believe me when I tell them it's got 400 ponies under the hood
I've had mine since 2020. Absolutely love it still. A tune is tempting, but I can't beat a 176k mile warranty I got going
I have one also…..400HP and AWD! Neck snapper with good top end. I also have two Mustangs….my MKZ is just as much fun!
It's a pretty cool car for sure! Sounds like a wild ride
What’s the 0-60 stock
@@SpeedyB2KI believe stock was around 5.1
I used to own an S550 model Mustang with the V6 and a Roush exhaust and it sounded pretty wicked. I love V8s but also quite enjoyed the exotic sound that this car had, kinda like an F-type.
My son has the same set up. It sounds bad ass and he ran best 13.52 with just exh tips. He ran a 13.25 with headers and a cold air intake. That’s fast for what they are.
Don’t forget the Genesis and Kia Stingers now. 3.3TT V6 with 365hp and 0-60: 4.5 sec.
Trash
He’s talking about American cars
The LGW/LGX and LF4/LFX are cool engines man. I had an 09 mustang gt, and back in 2020 I was doing a couple pulls in Mexico. I come to a light and there's a 6th gen Camaro....but a v6. It blew around me.
So I bought one. I'll tell you the six-speed is pretty bang on at 5 seconds, 5.1 s 0 to 60. But the 10-speed is quite a bit faster; I'd say even the zf eight-speed automatic does a 4.9s. if you were to ask any sixth-generation V6 owner of the Camaro what it's most likely rival is speed for speed, it's the RT Challenger. Those and the earlier Coyotes are the closest runs ive had when my car was stock.
Would be awesome to see a Buick Grand National included with that list.
I made sure to mention it at the end but maybe I should've officially included it
Why no '89 TTA though.
@LibertyDrives I apologize I didn't watch to the end.
Great video. Thanks for this.
@afrobiker97 No worries man, I really appreciate that! Thank you🙏
Im going back a way for this one but for it's time, and a few minor upgrades, the old 1995 Series II Buick 3.8 which was available with Eaton M90 supercharger in all types of FWD GMs from 1996 to 2007 . It has iron heads/block however it's extremely durable. It comes from the factory with a large 3.8 supercharger pulley due to a really crappy stock exhaust. Just some exhaust bolts ons, cooler stat, plugs, cold air intake and a canned tune with a 3.5" pulley delivers 5.4-5.6 0-60s and high 13 quarter miles. 140,000 later, still runs like new with the original 4t65e trans (2005 Impala SS). Antique pushrod material, no VVT, no direct injection and a 4 speed auto but simplicity and durability is what makes these cars (if you can find any in 2023) appealing. The 2007 Pontiac GTP was the last model. I suppose you did kind of put that in your list with the 86-87 GN . Similar engine however the W bodies were 10-20 years later.
97-03 GTP coupe was a sexy car. I had an 01. The Riviera looked incredible too. Didn't care for the interior colors. My only complaint about the styling.
Sounds like a really awesome ride!
We had the 3.8L in Australia in the 90s. The motor was actually in our national treasure. The Holden Commodore. Anyone over 35 has had one or a friend had one at some point. Fast forward to now and i got the missus a 2019 Holden Acadia(GM Acadia) with a 3.6L V6 and for an SUV it fuggn rips
@@LibertyDrivesAnother oldie but goodie the 3.2L supercharged Mercedes c32. Have one, not a lot of people know what it is. Absolute sleeper!
I’m surprised the G37 wasn’t listed on here.
I only kept American cars on here
@@LibertyDrives I just read the title 🤣 I gotta stop smoking
ill never sell my 93 FIREBIRD FORMULA 5.7 Lt1 ..305 hp 385 torque. it still eats up new challangers , stangs ect from. 40 /60 roll np..it loves to dine in hemiz
The Blackwing manual is 4.0 seconds 0-60. The 10 speed automatic is 3.8 seconds 0-60. Mine was $79k but now some sticker editions are $91k
I had a 1987 Buick t-type with the3.8 litre turbo also had the Cadillac at4 with2.0 turbo both cars had great acceleration.
That's wild! (I'm a lil jealous of your ride lol) Thanks for the info

The GM 4200 Atlas inline 6 and and the GM 4.3 cyclone V6, and the legendary GM 3.8 3800 series 1, 2,3 , and and the 3.9 V6 3900 series, I didn't want to forget about Nissan's 3.7 V6 and and Nissan 3.5 V6, Toyota legendary V6
Should have had a 2015-2017 Chrysler 200c or 200s with the 3.6 pentastar. I surprised a guy in his 2016 WRX STI when I had my Chrysler and pulled him
Lol maybe I should've mentioned em at the end, that must've been a pretty funny experience😂
Pontiac 02 bonneville ssei was my first car, got it up to 164mph bone stock
They came with a 3.8L V6 with a stock supercharger
The infiniti j30 not i30 the J30 with the progressive auto transmisión and ecu curve is more agresiva than the (300zx of Japan )and it was faster than a front drive sho yahama build engine 😅
Explorer ST, Edge ST, Syclone/Typhoon, Thunderbird SC, Contour SVT
Not a fan of the V-6 but BMW and Toyota have already shown that you can get tons of power from a straight 6. Even the Ford Barra could handle a 1000hp with a stock bottom end. There smoother, lighter, and they handle better in the twisties because of the weight distribution.
My gen 9 Impala V-6 is quick enough for me. 305 HP and 32 mpg on the Interstate.
That's a pretty great combo!
Ah yes. The Buick Grand National. Those were sweet cars.
I had a 2018 ATS-V… worst decision ever was getting rid of it. I loved that car
V6s: We are better in every way because you don't have to listen to that stupid loud...
V8s: let me stop you right there. Who sets speed records in almost every sense of the word? The fastest "V6" is based on a V8 block with two deleted cylinders and a custom crank/cam shaft.
(And that's not mentioning the sound difference😂)
@@LibertyDrives the irony is I'm considering swapping out my 350 chevy with a supercharged Aluminum bowtie 4.3 V6 with an easy target goal of 250-300hp at 400ft lbs. of torque to not break everything behind the transmission. It's an offroad rig and I would still get the torque, throttle response for sand and better than 8mpg where I'm at now. I also want to weld up custom headers to isolate and match the exhaust notes based on valve train and make it sound like a boxer motor but pry smoother.
I'd imagine it will sound similar to the subaru 6 cylinders but less lobey. It will also lower the front end weight by about 500 lbs.
Point is, it's a very specific build I'm after with a vision, elsewise go V8.
My wife drives a 2018 ATS AWD Cadillac with the 3.6 naturally aspirated V6. This car is quick as hell, like a little rocket.
I'd never believe unless I had bought a car with the same engine. The new GM v6s arent how they used to be lol
Where the heck is the Infinti Q50 3.7? No turbo and still with a 5.2. Fast car
(I own one at 85,000 MU)
Mixed bag. Natural vs turbo.
Good stuff, just curious as to why you didn’t include 1/4 mile times… that’s the bench mark to tell fast from slow.
Hey man, sorry, I don't know why I'm only just seeing this but that's a great idea. Definitely should keep that in mind for future videos. Thank you!
Yo whats up with the challenger sxt lie?? My 2020 sxt completely stock 0-60 is 5.4
1987 Buick GN❌ 1/547
2001 Buick Regal GS. 3.8L supercharged. Stock 14.9 1/4 mile. Start putting supporting mods and you’re down to the 12’s.
The Dodge Challenger and Charger SXT and GT really are not fast cars, not by today's standards. I've seen all wheel drive GT's do 0-60 in over 7 seconds. Definately slow. And the Dodge Challengers are way too heavy between 4000-4100 lbs. Dodge should have given the Pentastar V-6 a hp increase by now.
No, not fast by modern standards, but the 5.7 hemi Challenger still looks the part, sounds the part, and is fun to drive.
I love that you threw the Grand National in at the end.
What about the KIA Stinger GT2..dude...0-60 4.6 seconds stock...
That's a great car but I was only including American cars here. Still really cool cars and a great option
Its kind of funny how 0-60 in 7 seconds is considered slow in this day and age when that was actually fast in the early 2000s... i honestly wouldnt complain if i had v6 charger/challenger that could give mine and wifes '04 durango (5.7l v8) a run for its money. Id be rather impressed actually, just my $0.02. :)
Agreed! I feel like it's hard to fully understand how much cars have really improved in the last 20 and 30 years in most ways
I own a 2. Liter Turbo 4 Cylinder Verloster 275 hp now 290. I'm happy with it. I'll race any V6 . I beat Mustangs and Camaros and Lexus Acura Cadenza Genesis cadillacs bmw audi
I have a 2017 v6 mustang we can do rolls or digs🤷♂️ you say any v6 but with mods and tune i’m pushing 400whp
The Genesis G70 3.5TT should be on this list.
I don't share the same tastes for the vehicles mentioned, odd recommendation nonetheless.
That's fair, these cars aren't for everyone
Ford Tbird SC 1989-95 are rare and happen to have one ...😅
I own a 2017 TLX V6 FWD and it's basically the perfect mix of comfort and power for my daily driving, especially for just around $20k.
tl sh-awd better, fwd bozo
@@Buddster218 fwd bozo 😂😂😂😂
I have a 19 sport!!!!😂😂 love my fusion!!!!!!
Are we going to talk about the fact that the Lincoln had a plate that read "JW Booth"
Wait what😂
Booth is one of my heros.
I had a 2012 Nissan Altima 2door 3.5 v6
That mofo was QUICK & LIGHT!!!
Ew, get out! 😂 No seriously they're nice I've driven plenty. Just dont like FWD as much anymore
This is a good list. Cadillac has come a long way since the 80s and 90s.
Agreed! I really love what they're comin out with
The perfect sleeper car I have not saw on this list Is the Toyota Camry 2016 xse v6 version, 268 hp and 0-60 in 4.3 seconds but I’ve got mine 0-60 in like 3.4 seconds maybe less and stock at that!
you always forget about the Lincoln MKS which has the same TT V6 thats in the Taurus SHO
Noted for next time! Thanks man
2014 Jaguar XJ 3.0 awd Supercharged,
The 3.7 V-6 actually made its debut on the 2011 Mustang. I know because I own one. Great little engine!
You're right about that, i'm not sure why I didn't include the 11s and 12s. I also had an S197 for about 5 years lol
The 11 and the 12 had 305hp
Thank you for mentioning the grand national the best V6 ever
Hell yeah man! Seems like a lot of people missed that part but I couldn't not add it
The 89-95 Thunderbird Supercoupe, was an amazing car. Eaton Supercharged 3.8 liter, RWD with IRS & 5 speed options.
The original SHO with Yamahas 3.0/3.2, I think also deserves an honorable mention
Love those old heat pump Eatons. I have the Eaton M90 GEN 3 on a 05 Impala SS. Just change the oil on those relics every 60K miles and they last forever.
My neighbor and high school buddy's parents had a Thunderbird variant, but it did have the 3.8L supercharged engine. It was a killer sleeper.
My first car was a 1989 Super Coupe. It was so much fun that as soon as I finished school, I flew across the country to pick up a mint 1995 model. Both were manuals, and a blast to drive.
I bought a new 93 Super Coupe
if you want the best v6 you would have to buy the GTR or at least the 370 z or the new 400 z.
I'm a big R35 GTR guy! For a while when I was younger, I wasn't sure if an R35, C7 Corvette, or Aston Martin Vantage would be my attainable dream car. They're all so different but I still like em all
Nahhhh man's forgot the the gmc cyclone
Acura NSX should be top of this list. American made, under $200k and runs mid 10’s. 2.9 0-60.
Forgot to mention that the SHO is also AWD.
True true🙏
With Cadillac the stock 3.6 in the XTS is quick, it's tuned exactly like the Camaro.
Grand National surprised me happy to see it
Not a car but the explorer ST is a nice toy....
I have an Infiniti Red Sport.
Not American, but 400 hp 376 Torque. It can jump in front of many of these..... easy
Love you brother from Pakistan I watch your every video and I also love all American car company s
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that, glad you enjoy the content🙏
I use to own a 79 dodge Aspen wagon with the 225 slant 6 not sure what the HP was but it do 120mph not to shabby for an old station wagon 😊
3.5 v6 Honda 2 door. Very impressed
Those Cadillac XTSs are really cool cars
So glad you mentioned the GN that made my day !!!
I think a lot of people missed it but I'm glad!🙏
You got awfully close to what I chose as the best on-balance. The Cadillac ATS (non-V) 3.6. Same chassis as the 6th-gen Camaro, same engine, and inexplicably it's cheaper on the used market. An oft-overlooked benefit of the LFX/LGX is that they also make full power on 87 octane. It's even what GM recommends in the manual.
those lincoln’s remind me of an XF jag and a genesis . Those cadi’s are so good looking, i just can’t stand gm. Those 2020+ automatic V6 challengers ACTUALLY feel faster than a manual 5.7L just a little bit older getting to have driven both and throw them around a bit. I love the V6 stangs , wish they had the 3.5tt, they have like no turbo lag , it feels great. If you have not driven a SHO, it feels like someone stuck a 6.7 Turbo diesel in a 2 door awd f:150 when you tune them. Jerky as all h** like a track hawk. I almost bought a 15’ 750LI with 50k miles with the twin turbo 8 cyl and it just oddly didn’t offer as much as the taurus did and i ended up spending a lot less.
I bought a 2017 Mustang V6 a while back and couldn't be happier as it has lots of power, gets over 24 mpg and is a kick to drive.
As a woman, I must say that the v6 vs. V8 debate is tired and old. But I've noticed a lot guys who have a 4 cylinder or V6 eventually end up getting a V8. I personally have a 6th Gen V6 Camaro. But my number one pet peeve is when a V8 guy always degrades a V6 or 4 cylinder guy/girl because they bought the base model. How you gone be mad over a car you don't even own. You really can't assume someone's pockets. Just because they have the base model doesn't necessarily mean they couldn't afford the V8. Actually having the car and affording the car are two different things. This is why I think the car community is toxic. There's so much criticism and not enough appreciation. If I see a nice car, it's a nice car, I don't really care how many cylinders it has or how loud or fast it is. I love the look of the new Acura NSX. It has more hp than some V8s but it has a V6 engine. It'd be so nice if guys could just enjoy their ride and not be concerned about what the next person has.
My 2017 Lexus RC 350 F Sport,has same 8 spd Trans,as RCF V8 w/ little Different Gear Ratios & I Only have a Freer Flowing Air Filter& Does Anything I Want it To.If the Exhaust was a Freer Flower,Would Jump it up 12-15 h.p. ,but still will do 145 mph.Alum.Blk.& Heads,w/ Port &:Direct Injection
Update!!!! I sold the ATS because of transmission problems. Had it at a Cadillac dealer 4 times for slipping at highway speeds at 2,000 rpm.Car had only 32,000 miles, still on the bumper to bumper warranty.
After the 4th time they couldn't or wouldn't fix it , they said that's normal for the car. Needless to say , after decades of owning GM cars, this is my last one.
Bought a new Toyota Highlander, and NEVER looked back.
idk it’s whatever i’ve had a lot of fun and didn’t spend a lot on my bmw 335i and my taurus and infiniti and they are all 5 second or lower 0-60 cars all v6’s. Taurus and bmw were modded on a 5k budget and preformed very well off e-85 bolt ons, tunes, here and there stuff. beaten 5-10 V8 sports cars 80% of the time i raced them mostly due to traction and boost. I don’t race my infiniti often. My taurus will inch up on a 2014 5.0 if it is a manual - it is a 2014. I’ve beaten a couple R/T’s in it. I like going fast when I want to go fast but i’m not gonna get 15 mpg and have to obey these traffic laws like i’m obligated to. Still own the taurus and infiniti. Taurus been a little more reliable more expensive to maintain than all 3 but bmw was always a ticking time bomb still the most satisfying to drive.
i had a '21 Challenger GT awd, and the 0-60 taking 6+sec is huge cap. the fastest 0-60 i did was i think 5.3 - 5.6 seconds, stock tires and did it randomly so basically not perfect conditions.
i miss that car, decent power, good looks and good fun.
My b man, I try to only ever look at tested times from Car&Driver or MotorTrend and that was the time C&D said they got. Tbh though I was pretty surprised when I saw it was above 6, I thought those would've been on par with the 6 Camaros
@@LibertyDrives hey man no biggie no biggie thought i just say it, i know its a v6 boat but that MF can MOVE. love the content keep it up🤙
@@novoice9286 No worries brotha, I believe that😂 And will do man, thank you very much🙏
I think you have the Blackwing and the ATS-V backwards. Most testing has shown the BW to be 0.2 sec faster 0-60, 0.2 sec faster in the quarter mile with the quarter time about 2 mph faster than the ATS-V. Motortrend is really no longer credible on anything other than a EV either. Car & Driver is much more credible on ICE drivetrains these days. Just my 2 cents anyway.
Me sitting here watching this after buying a CT4V-Blackwing for 55k shipped to me with all the carbon fiber addons... yea slightly used with 10k miles but hell of a discount. The only thing that swayed me to buy it was the manual - just cant find the damn things and even if they are slower I still prefer them in a sports car. With GMs history of performance V6s - how could you go wrong.
V6 muscle cars are stupid the Fusion and Taraus are neat but who wouldn't go for a Acura, lexus, Infiniti etc.. tons of RWD/AWD 3.0, 3.5 and 3.7 V6s you can grab a 05 acura with 300hp AWD under $4k
European chiming in, we love classic American, but the new ones are hit or miss, design wise, it feels like the US is catching up to Europe, with some great looking Cadillacs, not to mention the supercars, but others are just horrible looking, and so pricey as well. A VW is just better overall, hard to pick an American car over that, not to mention the Giulia Quadrifoglio, or the Cupra Formentor. That being said, people buying Teslas left and right.
Bruh the 2012 mustang was mistaken 😂😂
My brother had one and I thought that was crazy fast ( I was 15) I would take it every weekend morning while he slept in 😂😂
Some of the 60 times seem slow for turbo V6s. My V6 3.5L NA 2016 Accord coupe runs a 5.5 sec stock. J35Y1 motor.
Lol shIw japanese v6s then you talking power and reliability, america can make power but reliability is as foreign as french to domestic car companies.
What about torque? The Grand National is a beast back in 87!
Horsepower is only part of the term FAST

The title CLEARLY says American Cars, but folks are whining about foreign cars that werent listed SMH
I own a 2017 Cadillac CTS-V Sport and it cost more than twice the price you listed. Your price is for a 2.0 TT CTS
Forgot the thunderbird SC!
I can’t find the 3.0 0-60 MT time for the ATS-V. I saw 3.8 maybe? And Zero to 60 doesn’t show a 3.0 time.
Owned both the ats v and now the ct4 blackwing.... Ats v is a better track car.... The newer model is a better road car....
I bought my 2017 ATS-V in 2020 and I plan on keeping it forever.
Stage one tune with drop in aFe filters has the bhp up to 500 at the wheels now.
Make the switch to e85 and ya like 550-600hp
That sounds wild! Awesome car man🙏
Too bad too many people bought Ford, Chevy and Dodge V6 (and V8) cars while the best overall option Cadillacs were highly neglected (‘old man car’ and such stereotypes).
Now we look at the used car market and there’s 1000’s of Mustangs for sale, way fewer Camaros but so so few Caddies.
@@georgevesta1703 we make 630whp and ~700whp on E85 with our ATS-V's.
Jealous, I've got a Vsport, do you have Justin's tune?
Me sitting here in an 01 Grand Prix GTP with a supercharged 3.8 V6 not getting at least an honorable mention 😢
Why would anybody that has money buy a car that alot of people have. I bought a Monte Carlo 2007 ss. It had a v8 . I hardly seen one on the road.
