There will never, ever, EVER, be a man like Patrick or character like Johnny ever again. Damn, Patrick was made for that part. Everyone in that movie was made for their parts. I love this movie so much, with all my heart, grew up with it, so thankful it was made for all of us to enjoy.
This scene was improvised by the actors when they were mucking around before filming. I think thatss pretty cool; they have such amazing chemistry! God Patrick was beautiful.
This scene was not scripted. They were fooling around and the producers loved it... I know people say they didn't get a long -- but something tells me they had a natural chemistry and felt it but denied it. He was married and she was taken ... if you're an astrology buff he was a Leo and her an Aries -- perfect match 😂😂😂, but seriously they had chemistry and I always felt they were fighting against it. They were probably frustrated with their own feelings... 😂😂
Tee Probably the reason why they "didn't get along"... I knew a girl and she met another boy at work, the both of them had someone in their lives and they acted like they hated each other. But when they weren't picking on each other, they had this sort of sexual tension filling the space it was unbearable. Guess what? they're married now and she's pregnant... they were always bickering because of sexual tension.
hey Tee you are prob spot on but Patrick always said how he had a deep connection with his wife etc but I know there have been a lot of things said about the marriage etc but if they are true I dunno. He got annoyed with Jen because they were doing so many takes to get the scenes right. He was having to teach her how to dance and for example even the water scene people are a lot heavier to carry in water and they were in the freezing cold water for hours. I totally get why they clashed. If you ever want to read Patrick's book it is available to buy on amazon. My only erk with it is I wish he had spoken more about personal things etc etc and we got to read more about the real Patrick Swayze.
tbh i'd put these two on the same level as like david duchovny & gillian anderson and carrie fisher & harrison ford. idk they all kinda have that vibe wherein you'd think there was something lol
Dirty Dancing was so great success thanks the great and talented Patrick Swayzy! He was great actor, dancer and beautifull human being! He will be always in our hearts!RIP
he says "looks like i picked the wrong sister" because earlier in the movie, he tries to have sex with baby's sister & she refuses. so he implies to johnny that he would have got some if he had chosen baby.
When you are old enough to appreciate this movie and its soundtrack and it comes on (which you played as a kid) the scene of balancing to prepare- All you young kids take note.. Lots to learn my loves
You should have seen him in the movie where he wore a southern soldier uniform and you think he was sexy in dirty dancing and in the movie he stood straight as a gentlemen and he acted that way in dirty dancing.
I think that movie your talking about him in a southern soldier uniform is the movie called north and south I own it and have just recently started watching it again
According to imdb Patrick Swayze had to convince Jennifer Grey to be in this film, because she had disliked him so much while filming Red Dawn. Interesting huh?
Mon Mothma it's true he talked to her and convinced her to stay in the movie there is a video call "reportage dirthy dancing " in youtube, they said how they made the entire movie.
Yes I know they supposedly didn’t like each other from that movie - to me its like Gone With the Wind - lucky for us - our entertainment - the People who made the decision picked Jennifer - and the same with Gone With the Wind - Bette Davis as a superstar begged David O. Selznick to play Scarlett and Cary Grant wanted to play Rhett - the point - Can anyone imagine anyone else but Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable playing those parts? 😊
There would be quite a difference in life experience and social maturity between a 17 yr old and an approx 30 yr old. If her dad really forbade her to see him and took the family back home, she'd lose Johnny. As an adult Johnny can come and go as he pleases. He seems to think that it's because she's ashamed of him rather than trying hard not to lose him. Probably Penny filled him in and that's why the make up took place fairly quickly.
@alinecalves It says a lot about Baby's character that she was willing to work so hard to help them with the dance competition like that. Both of them were royal a**holes toward her at first. I think many of us would have left him to deal with it himself. Johnny was quite rough and brusque during the lessons at first. Bet he didn't treat the older paying customers that way!
@chrissyholsinger It made a lot of sense to include this scene after Robbie's comment. When he referred to going slumming himself he was insulting Penny directly, whom he'd gotten pregnant and refused to help. He was also insulting Johnny, though I suspect Johnny was angrier about the insult to Penny than the insult to him.
@FilmerOfBobcats so true. I'm not surprised johnny reacted as fast as he did when robbie made the comment. I am shocked that penny didnt kick his ass when robbie commented.
Next on the hit list xx poles out xx salsa classes xx always wanted to do them xx nothing more attractive than a woman that can salsa dance properly xx
@chrissyholsinger I just listened to Swayze's biography, recorded just before his death, and he actually said he and his wife Lisa wrote the fight scene into the movie! It was their idea and the director decided to include it. Pretty cool huh?
Still so pissed at Robbie for interrupting their adorable scene.
R MH that isn't Robbie. It's Neil
Agreed..she's pretty as hell.
@@kirsten4096 I think he is talking about the second scene where baby went to the room to apologise n kissed him on shoulder
deepak mahajan oh my mistake
Agreed, pissed off at robbie and neil for interupting both scenes.
There will never, ever, EVER, be a man like Patrick or character like Johnny ever again. Damn, Patrick was made for that part. Everyone in that movie was made for their parts. I love this movie so much, with all my heart, grew up with it, so thankful it was made for all of us to enjoy.
So true
My words exactly! Favorite movie of all times...today I watched it for the 49th time... The best movie, best character ever!

This scene was improvised by the actors when they were mucking around before filming. I think thatss pretty cool; they have such amazing chemistry!

Yet he was married for like 34 years😩but still rip patrick💕💕
tbh i'd put these two on the same level as like david duchovny & gillian anderson and carrie fisher & harrison ford. idk they all kinda have that vibe wherein you'd think there was something lol

Baby oh baby my sweet baby. They had chemistry ❤️❤️ Patrick Swayze was so handsome and he could dance 💃

Dirty Dancing was so great success thanks the great and talented Patrick Swayzy! He was great actor, dancer and beautifull human being! He will be always in our hearts!RIP
Ohhh to have a family vacation like this one! lol
I wish i had a dancer boyfriend. And one that goes crazy and beats up some one for me. *-*3
Samantha Page Saaame though, if my husband won't do "the dance", to hell, we ain't getting married.
Haha👍nice one
I thought Johnny beat him up for Penny, since he got Penny pregnant and then dumped her.
Me too☹
"Beats up someone for me" this is the reason I keep losing my hope in humanity
How is one man SO HOT?!😭
i love how this scene was not scripted and turned out to be the best scene
When he says "baby" aww
ROCK GODDESS thats her name
Everyone calls her that
I love this movie
Patrick era un concentrato di fascino e mascolinità in un corpo dai movimenti eleganti...unico!!
Best scene 😍😂

Interesting huh?
Not true, though. She was cast before him.

The movie is still quite popular. It was turned into a stage musical that often tours the world.
Jennifer Grey is a goddess...
@chrissyholsinger It made a lot of sense to include this scene after Robbie's comment. When he referred to going slumming himself he was insulting Penny directly, whom he'd gotten pregnant and refused to help. @FilmerOfBobcats so true! i love how panny ended up loving baby inspite of how she treated her in the beggining
@FilmerOfBobcats so true. I'm not surprised johnny reacted as fast as he did when robbie made the comment. I am shocked that penny didnt kick his ass when robbie commented.

They had, so much Chemistry, They prefer to not get along, cause he was married and she had a boyfriend,
The movie was only so successfull because of Patrick Swayzee. His personality, acting, dancing, beautiful body and, voice made the film.
The story is very important in a movie too
@chrissyholsinger I just listened to Swayze's biography, recorded just before his death, and he actually said he and his wife Lisa wrote the fight scene into the movie! It was their idea and the director decided to include it. Pretty cool huh?
