Is it 120 dB at 100% power & fan? What is the dB at 50% power & fan? And are there any cool / fun noise sensations with speed / acceleration / otherwise?
The fan power is proportional to the cube of its speed, so noise generated should be similar. So 50% fan would be an 1/8th the power. db is logarithmic so every 3db is half the power so 1/8th which is the same as 1/2^3 (i.e 3db *3) would be 9db lower. so 111db assuming most of the noise comes from the fan.
