    Any advantages/disadvantages of using something like a large Owner ST-66 treble hook at the bottom instead?

      Hi @random1883. With a large treble hook, you would run into the problem of having the fish stay hooked when you're reeling it in. A large treble hook tend to not get a good hold inside the fish mouth.

      @waltn3202 Mustad J-Assist 2 Heavy Duty Assist Hooks Size 6/0 was used as seen in the video. We suggest using Mustad J-Assist 1 or 2 Heavy Duty Assist Hooks Size 6/0 or 7/0 for Rip Roller jigs weighing between 300-500g. You can find those J-Assist Hooks here:

    thanks for making this video, quick and simple tips, I agree with crimpping instead of the crazy chain knot, so.e of this guys are trying to brainwash us, ohhh you need this knot to catch big fish
