THANK YOU for this tutorial! This is perfect for work. As a nurse we have strict procedures for personal hygiene, makeup, nails, etc... and this one shadow look let's me look put together but not "painted". Bonus: less time consuming than blending 3 or 4 shadows.
What an amazing difference and yet so simple! This is exactly what I need. My eyes are a bit more hooded than yours, mobile lid barely visible. I get a little overwhelmed with all the different colors and all the blending I see done on so many videos, even those for "mature" eyes. I'm 62 and my lids are looking old and crepey and I've lost a lot of my makeup skills from so many years of barely wearing any eye makeup, so I think this technique will really help me get started again without feeling so overwhelmed about it. I've been using some natural oils on my face more recently so I do think the texture of my skin, even around my whole eye area is improving. I'm hoping it will make all of my makeup, face & eyes, look much more improved. I love your videos, Nisha! You do a great job on your tutorials! Hugs!!!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! Being over 40 it just occurred to me to search over 40 makeup tutorials on UA-cam and that's how I found you! I have a hooded eye and I can't wait to try your technique.
Oh I tried this Nisha this week and it does look better!!!! Thank you so much. When I try to do the "V" part of it gets lost and it looks like I didn't blend...but I did! I like this better and I like plum colors too with hazel eyes :) You look so beautiful..gee wiz! Happy week-end to you!!! xxoo Susan & Mr. C
You have no idea how much you are helping us. I am really trying to do my eyeshadow like this to open up my eyes more and it has really made a difference. Thank you! Love, Melissa
Wonderful tutorial!! I have been using one eye shadow all over my lid with liner and mascara on top lashes only for the past couple of years. Love the look and my eyes don't look like they drag down anymore. Thank you for sharing, Nisha!!
I'm so glad you did this! I am a one eye shadow girl and lack the skill to do the really pretty shadow looks. This one I can do! Love it! I see a big difference between the two applications. xoxo
Neesha because I really am ALL thumbs when it comes to eyeshadow (always have been due to my lifelong hooded lids, shadow never looked right to me) this was the best, EASIEST explanation you could have posted for me and my hooded eyes! ☺️ Thank you~! Dziekuje! 🤗😘
This is your best everyday eye look for hooded eyes! Loved the simple demonstration and big effect. Also love the wig - it looks like your natural hair, even the hairline!
Hi Nisha. I tried this new technique on my eyes this morning before work. Its certainly quicker, and I was pleased with the results. I also used mascara on my bottom lashes today and that looked good as well. I wear glasses and often I find my eyes are loosing definition by the end of the day. The mascara on the bottom lashes helped the eyes stay more defined today. Thanks again for your great tips Nisha xxxxx
I love this, thanks so much for showing us how to do this look. I confess I'm sick of blending all the shadows to get things just right, so this is like a breath of fresh air for me. 🌹
Beautiful look. I like the one color. Just have to find the right shade for me. You make it look so easy. Practice, practice, practice. Nisha I have a very thin top lip and have tried to make it look fuller do you have a video on lining lips and making them look fuller? Keep up the great job. We appreciate all you do.
Wow, fast and great looking. I don't have a hooded eye but I still like the technique. I really like the shadow color on you as well. Thanks for the video.
Hi Nisha, the next time I have to rush out of the door I'm definitely going to try this look! It's so easy and you've just proved the old adage 'less is more'...... I would never have thought you'd get such a beautiful result with so little effort. Thanks for the video!
Love Nisha. This is how I've done my hooded eyes for at least 20 years LOL !!! I usually use a little (or a lot) darker shadow but the same technique. Looking good my friend. xoxo patti 🎀
Thank you so much! I will definitely check into that mirror. The one I have now has 10x magnifying and I think that may be a little too strong to get the right application of makeup on.
LOVE IT Nisha!!!! THANK YOU! It reminds me and reiterates the lesson of a Sephora video by David from the pro team. He did something very similar - teaching to put the shadow all over the lid to the "orbital bone" - as everyone has one. He said it was a great way to emphasize the natural eye shape by going high enough with the shadow to that bone. I've been using this trick (even using a dark brown/black eyeshadow) - and using the KVD alchemist palette for the inner corner(top and bottom) to highlight. Also - a darker shade can be put into the outer corner for more emphasis if one wanted to be more dramatic. I love him and you for eyeshadow tutorials - the BEST. Great and detailed instruction - I've bookmarked this to my favorites!
I am sure going to try this for my hooded eyes. You are so good at doing your eye makeup.I can't never get it too look as good .My right eye is more hooded and they never look even when I'm done, its like I'm winking all the time, lol. xoCathy
This technique works great with cream shadows, too. I like to use ones that are matte base with small amount of microsparkle, like Chanel fatal or illusoire.
Thank you for this easy-to-follow tutorial!! I LOVE your hair! I'm not able to find a video showing how you did it. Would you please make a video showing us how you style it?
hey Nisha! Thx for your tips! I have been doing it this way for a long time! I don't have to do it so precise now that I've had the hooded lids fixed but your method definitely helps those who haven't had the surgery! Love all your videos! XO
Thank you for this video! I am ALWAYS in a rush for work in the morning (chronic oversleeper, LOL) and often run out the door with NO eyeshadow because blending 3 or 4 colors just takes too much time. I will definitely try this next time!
Nisha, thank you for the tutorial. I will follow your advice as I have very hooded eyes. I think, I make the mistake you mentioned in the video. I will try it your suggestion today. 😘😘
Thanks for the video. I just started wearing eye shadow again after not wearing any for about a year. I still don't do it every time I go away. My method of makeup is to use the least amount as possible, so I get done as soon as possible. I am going to try this method, seems like a good one for me to use.
I just think you always have the best tips & videos! Love your hair here!! I'm off to check out your last hair tutorial! Please share if it's a different curling iron or wand! Thanks!! 😃
This is an awesome technique and I love that neutral taupe shade! Your eyes look defined but so natural. I love this look with a set of nice lashes… Specifically because I don’t have any that you can see anyway
Yay! One eyeshadow sounds good to me with less work and bang for our buck. I am still honing my skills, so this is perfect for me, thanks. I just had a nice eye makeup demo at Macy's in San Francisco, and made a video. I bought the pallet!
I want to thank you for these videos. I didn't even realize I had hooded eyes until I started watching you. Thank you again, I now get compliments that my makeup looks pretty.
I love it. I like to put a nude color in my lower waterline. It opens my eyes. I was born with this one eye that was more hooded then the other andcwearing eye shdow was a struggle for me. I love the ease and simplicity of this look. Thank you for all your loving guidance. Xx
You are absolutely stunning. Thank you for all your tutorials very much appreciated. Just seen the full end result. Wow such a difference. Hope you dont mind me asking. Ive seen some of your wigs. Is this one so much like how my hair used to be. Thank you x
Lovely tutorial thank you xoxo. I bought the smashbox gel eyeliner from Boots. It comes in different colours very smooth and glides on and waterproof! I recommend it! Xoxo
This is a technique I can use daily. Thank you! I have a lot of mid tone make up geek shadows i can use for it. I just tried it with Bandwagon and it looked great. I can't be bothered with multiple colours and all the blending most days.
Hi Nisha. Thanks for sharing. I was hoping to see an eye shadow look like this. Will try it today. I wasn't going quite as high with mine. Thanks for the tip. Love you wig. Looks so natural. If you didn't tell me I never would of known. Love you. Ro 💕🌹💕
So glad you did this video. I enjoy doing my eye makeup and having options. Would have never thought to do this look.i have done this look 3 times already. Thanks Nisha
Nice technique for the average woman trying to get out the door in the mourning. Most ladies do not have the time needed for creating a more complex illusion every day. This will be a huge timesaver for people like me.
DARLING SUGAR PUFF AND FLUFF , HOW ABOUT WOMEN WITH " BULGING EYES . " COULD YOU PLEASE HAVE A " TUTORIAL ON THIS . " ENOUGH ! " WITH " HOODED EYES ! " BULGING EYES NEXT PLEASE . THANK YOU . NOT THAT , I HAVE A BULGING EYES , I AM SPEAKING ON THEIR BEHALF . THANK YOU .
Nisha Your videos are so informative and you make it easy to learn new techniques. I enjoy spending time with you on your blogs and look books. Thanks for sharing your journey of trails and mishaps. Together we can All look Beautiful as we age and learn from each other.
Nisha, I went to a wig store today. I told them I wanted the Editors Choice soft curly wig. They helped me figure out the correct color for me and ordered it. When it comes in, if I dont like it, I dont have to buy it. I cant wait to see how it looks. I will do a video on it.
I am really enjoying your videos Nisha. I have hooded eyes and you have helped me make them look much better. My biggest problem now is crepe eyelids. Can you suggest a reasonably priced cream or serum to stop this from getting worse please👁
This is such a pretty look, Nisha. I have been doing this technique already, but never though of using the lovely pinkish brown eyeshadow and it looks wonderful on you. I would say that this color looks very feminine. I have to give it a try too :). As always :) thank you so much for sharing!!
Thank you, Nisha, for all hooded eyes tutorials, they are the best. I was wondering, can you offer advice/tutorial on applying lipstick / lipgloss with no bleeding? I am 43 and I have started to notice that some lipsticks and many lipglosses give me some minor bleeding :-(. Looking forward for your advice on this issue. Thanks.
Nisha. Even though I don't have a hooded eye, that one eyeshadow look seems to suit me for some reason and I love it. I sort of dress in a monochromatic way also, so that is probably why I like it. I think I love that color eyeshadow you used more than almost anything. Your blue eyes just absolutely popped and looked beautiful with that color. mine are greener but I'm going to have to get those pallettes for some of those pinky brown colors. They look gorgeous on you. Great video Nisha. 🤗
Hey Nisha-I am in my 50's and am looking for a good vanity makeup mirror. Do you have one in particular that you find works really well? I have to wear reading glasses so I'm out sure how strong of a magnifying mirror I would need. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you and keep up with the good tutorials!
kim f whoa! That was a direct response!😂 Try the illuminated mirror by Babyliss (supplied by major stockists such as Boots). There are 2 different magnifications- one on either side! The light really helps if your vision is an issue. It's chrome in colour and looks very pretty on a vanity. Cost is under £30.
Hi Beatrice. Thanks so much for the suggestion. I actually had the sensor mirror, but I'm pretty sure it was 8x. I don't know what happened, but the light never shut off and so I had to recharge it. I ended up returning it for that reason. I might reconsider and buy it again, but do you have any suggestions on how to prevent that from happening? Also, do you think it has much distortion? The other thing I didn't like about it is that it doesn't have a regular lense.
Hey Beatrice, you must have the mirror that I returned. How do you get it to shut off? Mine didn't shut off and I had to recharge it. That's why I returned it. Do you think the mirror has distortion? Thank you so much!
Hi Nisha, thanks for another great tutorial ,i really find your hooded eyes tutorials very helpful! And this eyeshadow looks perfect!Would you please list some drugstore dupes for this colour or similar colours like this ??unfortunatelly i'm on a budget..Love you!
Sofia Hoffman I don't think I'd call it a drug store dupe, but The Balm's Meet Matte Trimony has a really soft brown that is very similar. They are very soft and easily blendable shadows. And while they are not drug store dupes, The Balm VERY frequently does flash sales with deep discounts. If you go to their website (same as their name) and get on their mailing list, they will email you when they are having flash sales and then you can get it (and other great products) for 30, 40 and 50% off! Also, their products are vegan or vegan friendly, so 100% cruelty free; that matters a great deal to me. have no connection to The Balm Cosmetics - just a fan of some of their eye shadows. BTW, you get a TON of product for the $. Also Ali Express has gazillions of dupes but they are , in my opinion, most likely made in china so not cruelty free, but very cheap. The origins are unknown but they have cheap dupes for any high end product you can think of. I.E.: an exact replica of the TF Choc Bon Bons palette, etc. I hope you find what you're looking for! ~grace & peace
Great tutorial Nisha. I have hooded eyes and I try to copy how you have shown us but I'm really not very good so this is much better for me as it is quicker and just one colour. Can I buy the eyeshadow you used without it being in a palette as they are a bit too expensive for me?💙
I'm absolutely thrilled about this video..I tried it last night..so much easier. I tried the other but it just never comes out right. This is just so soft and pretty..natural beauty just a bit enhanced is the best!
THANK YOU for this tutorial! This is perfect for work. As a nurse we have strict procedures for personal hygiene, makeup, nails, etc... and this one shadow look let's me look put together but not "painted". Bonus: less time consuming than blending 3 or 4 shadows.

You would look lovely in that shade Melissa, but then you look beautiful with no make up-natural beauty xoxoNisha
Wonderful tutorial!! I have been using one eye shadow all over my lid with liner and mascara on top lashes only for the past couple of years. Love the look and my eyes don't look like they drag down anymore. Thank you for sharing, Nisha!!

Great technique! I love your hair in this video, how did you accomplish this look of your hair?
I could listen to you all day.... you are so easy to understand and follow and not to mention so KIND. Thank you and by the way you are beautiful!
I love your description of "a little black dress" for your eye.
I like the little black dress for my eyes!
Hi Nisha. I tried this new technique on my eyes this morning before work. Its certainly quicker, and I was pleased with the results. Very nice clean fresh look!
Yes, love using just one shadow. Fast and easy. And gorgeous too!
Best advice I've ever gotten is your hooded eye tips! I've been using your tips for awhile and friends have asked me what I'm doing different!!!
Thank you so much! I will definitely check into that mirror. The one I have now has 10x magnifying and I think that may be a little too strong to get the right application of makeup on.
Thank you Nisha for helping us hooded eye people. What would I do without you.
It looks great, Nisha!

Thank you Nisha. I'm going to try this. I don't have time in the morning for a more full makeup look. But I think I can handle this.
I am sure going to try this for my hooded eyes. You are so good at doing your eye makeup.I can't never get it too look as good .My right eye is more hooded and they never look even when I'm done, its like I'm winking all the time, lol. xoCathy
Thank you, you just need to apply your eyeshadow a bit higher on your more hooded eye, but I am sure you look very cute winking lol xoxoNisha
I really like this look. I am just learning eyeshadow skills and I might be able to do this one!
This technique works great with cream shadows, too. I like to use ones that are matte base with small amount of microsparkle, like Chanel fatal or illusoire.

Thank you Nisha for the tips. I will do my makeup like you suggest because I have very very very hooded eyes ❤❤❤

Good tutorial, great color and technique to open up the eyes. I am greatly hooded and textured. I will try this. Thanks!
I love it. I like to put a nude color in my lower waterline. It opens my eyes. I was born with this one eye that was more hooded then the other andcwearing eye shdow was a struggle for me. I love the ease and simplicity of this look. Thank you for all your loving guidance. Xx

Such a pretty color, goes with everything I think! So pretty, simple and soft. TY Nisha
I love using just one color. I love your tip! Thanx!
That's a very pretty look on you. It's my everyday look. I use shades in brown/beige because I have hazel/brown eyes but it works great!
Thanks! I have really hooded eyes and it's such a challenge. I love this palette too.
Love this wig on you!! The color shadow you used makes your eyes so blue... Thanks for the great one shadow tip. I'm trying that today!! Sue
Thank you Nisha! What about a halo eye? Would that work for hooded eyes? Would love to see that tutorial! TY!!!!!
Nisha you look flawless here!!
Thank you xoxoNisha

Nisha, I went to a wig store today. I told them I wanted the Editors Choice soft curly wig. They helped me figure out the correct color for me and ordered it. When it comes in, if I dont like it, I dont have to buy it. I cant wait to see how it looks. I will do a video on it.
That's great, I can't wait to see you in it, your own hair is lovely and it seems thick, but it is fun to change it up xoxoNisha
Way Awesome! Sometimes I just want to makeup really fast. This will be great! I will practice this weekend. Thank you!
The technology of why this works is so interesting. It works great and looks great!🤠
I have a similar eye liner from stilla...its self retractable and sharpening when you twist the lid on and off. I was confused by mine too.
I am really enjoying your videos Nisha. I have hooded eyes and you have helped me make them look much better. My biggest problem now is crepe eyelids. Can you suggest a reasonably priced cream or serum to stop this from getting worse please👁
Can I ask you a question, how do you place eyeshadow if the hooded area is also in the inner corner of the eye? I love your tutorials
What a great video, so simple yet so effective, thank you Nisha.
Thank you so much! I have always wondered how to wear just one eyeshadow color for my hooded eyes. I appreciate your video! Thank you!
Simple yet beautiful. I love it
Thank you Nisha for the helpful tutorial! Ordered the Bdellium brush.
This might be my favorite look on you. It really showcases your beautiful eye color.
This is such a pretty look, Nisha. I have been doing this technique already, but never though of using the lovely pinkish brown eyeshadow and it looks wonderful on you. I would say that this color looks very feminine. I have to give it a try too :). As always :) thank you so much for sharing!!

Oh gosh so easy and works great did this today looks fantastic and it's fast. I'm not that good at blending so this works great for me. Thx
Nisha,
Looks beautiful as always. You are my favorite person.
I am so happy to have found your channel. I enjoy watching you. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Nisha, could you please recommend some single eyeshadows for this look?
I will need to look for some dupes in my stash of eye shadows and if I find anything I shall remember to let you know in my Monday video xoxoNisha
I just use an ordinary bathroom mirror with no magnification (I don't need it YET LOL) so I can't really help you with that sorry xoxoNisha

That is not the same mirror that I had. Would you be able to provide the link? Thanks so much!
Thank you for this tutorial showing one shadow look. I will defintely be trying this look.
I like this look very easy thanks Nisha I'm going to try it tomorrow.
Thank you xoxoNisha
You are so pretty. Loved the look. Now, I know what makeup style I am wearing to work tmw.
Yes this would work for me Nisha thank you. I think there seems a trend emerging where this look is the one to go for at the moment. Hugs xoxo
This works so good for me. Thanks Nisha, love your videos!
HI Nisha! I love this! So simple. You look radiant! My question today is about your hair. How did you get such soft waves/curls?
Great tutorial Nisha. I have hooded eyes and I try to copy how you have shown us but I'm really not very good so this is much better for me as it is quicker and just one colour. Can I buy the eyeshadow you used without it being in a palette as they are a bit too expensive for me?💙
Nisha love your video could you list your favourite eyeshadow brushes theres so many out there
I have done a video on my fave brushes not long ago xoxonisha
