hey guys, here are answers to the most asked questions i've seen in the comments: 1) i used all makeup geek eyeshadows for this look. The ones I use to create the "good side" are peach smoothie, creme brulee, mocha and mirage, and sometimes corrupt to darken the lashline. i didn't list them because you can use any shadows you have, it is not necessary to get these exact ones. 2) the "good side" eyeliner is the Isadora Glossy Eyeliner Waterproof in chrome black. I live in Berlin, Germany, so I get it from Douglas here. I don't think it's available in the States unfortunately, but you may be able to find it on ebay. I don't know a dupe either because it is pretty unique. 3) "good side" and "bad side" is not meant to be a judgement but is just for distinction and made it easier for me to structure the video. 4) for those asking about my eyebrows, i did get them done here in berlin at a place called belladerma. they are not microbladed but done with regular permanent makeup using long time liner colors, and i have both hair strokes and shading. i drew on my shape myself, and i did tell them exactly how i want them and came in for several touchups until i was happy with them. they have lasted me almost 3 years now! there is some fading though, so i will probably get them touched up some time next year. 5) I love you guys! :)
THE BAD SIDE IS LITERALLY ME WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING ALL THIS TIME OMG. This video explains why my eyeshadow never looked like the tutorials even though I followed every step perfectly. I always wondered what I was doing wrong and the answer is nothing, I just wasn't doing my eye makeup so that it would suit my eye shape. This was a life changing video...THANK YOU
Danya Scully same have have hooded eyes I always hate to put eyeshadow or eyeliner on because made my eyelids look puffy. The other tutorials never worked for me
This is, BY FAR, the best hooded eyes tutorial I've seen. My mind is BLOWN. Every video I've seen has emphasized product names and shades, but not technique. This is just...art. I've literally asked "explain it like I'm 5 years old", and nobody has until now. Going to a wedding this summer, and can't wait to try this! I'm gonna practice. Thank you so much!
I am 33 years old and have been wearing makeup since 5th grade. I’ve never felt super confident with how I’ve done my makeup. I have heavy hooded eyes and I tend to like a darker eye look. I was watching your video and decided to take all of my makeup off and do my makeup just like you showed us. I cannot tell you how happy this made me. Makes me want to cry because it makes me feel more confident. Thank you so much ❤️
TheLadyPlantagenet I think she was surprised as many of us who have hooded eyes that something so simple solves our everyday problems. I stopped applying eye shadow and eyeliner because it always falls off my eyes, now I'm excited to try this!!
First off, I’m pretty sure I’ve never commented on a UA-cam video in my life. I’m in my early 30s and I don’t know much about makeup. I learned a bit from my mom and picked up things along the way. I was getting so frustrated with particularly eyeliner because on everyone else it looks so pretty but mine always smudged and kept going on my “hood”, and i just didn’t get why! And my stupid eyeshadow would smudge on my hood too! I stumbled upon this video and this is life changing. I never knew I had “hooded eyes” (honestly never even thought about it) but from everything you described, I was like oh yeah that is something I do. I just tried to do makeup how you suggested and it is transformative. Thank you so much for making this!!
Great video. It's nice to hear someone say something nice about hooded eyes. I'm so tired of you tubers taking about hooded eyes as if it's something horrible that happens as you get old. Many of use were born with hooded eyes.
Yeah I have yet to find a makeup artist that has REALLY hooded eyes like I do. I have absolutely no lid space to work with and my space before the brow is too puffy for anything to look cute
I only recently noticed i have hooded eyes 😒 It explains why my makeup never came out nice after following tutorials. I'm slowly learning to change up my ways. Thanks girl ❤️
Same. I've learned to pull my liner up not out but was still using too much. I WANT the look she does on her left eye, for my daily look and couldn't figure out why I couldn't see my eye shadow. Smoky eyes are great for a special event though too 😁
Same. I literally started pulling a Jeffree star and shaving mine off from underneath and bulking them up too to move them up higher. It's made all the difference!
Hooded eyes and eyebrows here too lol, I'm like "bring it up where?! that's where the highlighter in my non-existing eyebrow arch is supposed to go?!" :D
i love your voice and how soft you sound, you're not screaming hello beautiful at the top of your lungs for the opening (its great and all lots of youtubers do it but some days i need a nice toned voice), and this video is so useful thank you so much
Agreed! This is part of why I like her so much, her voice is easy to listen to. I sometimes wonder why she rarely smiles though, she is so beautiful when she smiles!
Exactly what I was thinking too, a lot of beauty gurus annoy me within the first ten seconds of the video and I have to turn it off but I watched this the whole way through and didn't get irritated or bored :)
I am a 50 yr old woman and have hooded eyes. This is by far the best video I have seen. Thank you for keeping it short and to the point. I can't wait to try the techniques.
I never comment on ANY videos but this young woman has proven that less is more and what colors where and how much will make all the difference in the world! Impressive and refreshing truth!
Yeah idk if I'm sleep deprived (26 hours no sleep so far. Work) but your little intro telling us not to feel negatively about our eye shape and everything straight up brought a tear to my eye. Been stressing about this eye shape and what you said helped a lot. Thank you
I'm almost 50 and I always want to look my best, but also keep it somewhat natural. have learned so much from this. Thank you! You are great to watch and you make it look easy :)
I THINK this is the best hooded eye tutorial ever. I've been watching lots of other hooded eye techniques/tutorials but when I try it, it looks really bad lol. Thanks!
Wow wow WOW! I just wanted useful tips on hooded eyes, but I also got a beautiful pep talk on why I shouldn’t be embarrassed about them anymore! They’re not a curse - they’re just different! Why did I never see it that way before?! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Xxx
I am 36 years old and I have never worn eyeshadow or eyeliner (I always look like the bad eye)....until now! This video is EXCELLENT and it just changed my life 🙌 Thaaaaaaaank you!!! I cannot wait to try these techniques. Keep up the wonderful work!
Makeup by Myrna great video 👏❤ i hate my hooded yes but I can do nothing about that.. all your tips are great.. but what happens with false lashes? they always look too big on my eyes and no flattering at all 😕😕😕
Makeup by Myrna I seriously was so hit by this advise I teared up... like it's so hard researching what WORKS.. was and am! So great full for something to FINALLY WORK ..💋thank you
I love this - accepting that people don’t like their hooded eyes but encouraging us to embrace and work with what we have instead of trying to hide/fix it. Thanks so much for the vid! Definitely helped me 😊🙏♥️ x
Great video! As a 42 year old with newly hooded eyes (due to age!) I have been struggling with how to suddenly do my eyeshadow. Your video was one of the best I've seen, so a million thanks!
Finally! A video that actually explains and works for hooded eyes. So tired of seeing videos on this but the girl in the video actually has deep set eyes or just a smaller lid space but not actual hooded eyes ❤️ super helpful!
Seriously this is genius, I never realized this is what I've been doing all along..! I never comment on videos, but I have to tell you this is the most useful tutorial I've ever come across 🙏🏼 thank you!
Holy crap! I have been doing my eye makeup so freaking wrong! I basically do everything you did on your left eye except for the eye shadow. Thank you so much for sharing this! It has helped me so much!
You said "No one cares" BUT I tell you I do care! This validation of my eyes shape was super impacting and meaningful to me. I loved all of your tips and side comments because it helped me to feel it is passible for me to use eye make-up and empowered me to embrace more my feminine energy. Deep and warm thank you!
The way we use to do our make up in 2021 is a replica of the 90's.Her "bad" eye reminds me more of an 80's look that makeup was more messy.Cut crease started at 90's.I was in highschool when we rocked a cut crease eyelook.
Theres an obvious reason why a good blending brush and a good quality eyeliner make a difference if you have hooded eyes! I tend to do my liner 3/4 of my eye so I get a so called "lifting effect." 😊😉
Satu Koponen um.... no? My go to eyeliner is the maybelline define a line for pencil, nyx for liquid. Both drugstore. My go to blending brush is bh cosmetics. Came in a set of 7 for 10 bucks. It's all preference. You don't need to go jump and spend 20 plus on a brush or liner. And eye shape doesn't matter
Julia Perez I don't think they meant expensive when they said good quality. Plenty of inexpensive products are amazing quality just as some expensive products are kind of crappy. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I interpreted their comment as saying that you have to do some searching to find what works for you rather than trying to work with the first item you pick up.
Of course we care what you want to say. I thought the comment regarding loving our features first is so unique and reflective! I never heard this thought before! You just gave everyone a boost of confidence.
I love that this video not only has techniques but products/reasons why it looks a bit wonky and not so flattering on most hooded eyes. I absolutely *cannot* do eyeliner or put on false eyelashes! I've never gotten the liner right, not even kind of and only got lucky with lashes once, thank goodness it was makeup i wore for my aunt's wedding and family photos. I would *live* to see myself with a good smokey black eye with, liner, and falsies. Great video and instructions!
this video probably just changed my life! I have never realized my eyelids are hooded! I feel like a complete idiot now! But I just never took the time to find out why that eyeshadow doesn't really look good the way it does on others. OMG. God bless you for this video!
Me too! As this video started I took out my little mirror to inspect my own and HUZZAH! that's what is different about my eyes! I never even realized it. For years I have thought I was just a failure because I followed all the steps I knew and my eye just didn't come out right. Yes, finally, I have seen the light!
Maleficara Same! I've always thought that I was just the worst at eye make up. I wish I had this video in high school, haha, but I'm gonna look amazing now that I'm 30!
Thank you! I have struggled forever on how to show off my shadow when eyes are open. I thought doing thicker liner on top would help. Your video was literally eye opening, can’t wait to try the tips you have listed.
I have no lid space. My hood touches my lash line. The good part is I don't have to curl my lashes cause my hood does it for me.. lol I can't do a cat eye or a flick cause you can't see it if I do try it looks like Amy Winehouse did my liner.. My eyes are also deep set so I have to watch darker shadows towards the inner eye part. Lots and lots of experimenting on trying to figure out what works and what doesn't.
Betty June on the other hand, those of us with hooded eyes can pull off the full smoky eye in situations where it would look a bit much on our non-hooded sisters! I really recommend practicing and perfecting the smoky eye - it doesn't have to be black, any darker colour that looks nice with your eye colour can look stunning as a smoky eye. Plus i personally find it much, much easier than trying to place shadows precisely on my lid or hood!
I just wanted to say BIG THANKS! I’m blonde with pale skin and blue eyes. And I think I’ve always had hooded eyes / droopy eyelids but only noticed them at the age of 33? I thought I was getting old... thought of buying antiwrinkle cream, etc. you made me realize it’s not age, it’s shape. I Care. Thank you 😚
Wow, what a difference! I recently discovered that I have hooded eyes and have been working on applying my eyeshadows better. I have very little lid space and struggle with finding the right brushes to use. Would love to see a video on what brushes to use for small hooded eyes!
I agree with everything you said here, except the bit about eyebrows. I have downturned eyes, and I find that a straighter brow looks the best. When the brow is too arched, and especially when it is arched and also the ends are drawn really long, it accentuates the droopiness so bad. It's almost like drawing an arrow pointing down on your face. Keeping the brows straight and the tail a little shorter solves that problem.
I've never watched an entire eye makeup tutorial let alone commented on one until right now. You explained it so well, I actually understood what u were talking about. Thank u.
I just want to say I am 26 years old and didn't even KNOW until like, Saturday, that the reason I have difficulty with eye makeup is that I have hooded lids and that this is a KNOWN eye shape and not just something weird I have---a perception that was reinforced by a Sephora employee when I was 16. I've watched your videos and my life has been changed. Thank you!!!!
I just felt like I had been hit by a truck after watching this video... I have struggled for the last ten years trying to make eye make up look decent and my world has just been rocked! Glad others are in the same boat as me 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this video! When I hit 40, my eyelids started to droop. Finding realistic makeup tips online is a wild goose chase. I love the practical tips, "eyelid positivity" and use of both drugstore and professional makeup supplies. Keep up the great videos!
Girl, thank you! I've been wearing makeup for 40 years (53), and I learned so much! You are funny and love listening to you. Pacing was perfect. I wanna see more!
I can’t believe I’m 43 years old and just today was informed I had hooded eyes, I’ve been to Ulta, Mac and other “makeup artists that never gave me half the useful information that was given in this video. I just thought I had deep eyes- seriously thank you!!!!
maybe find a salon that waxes or threads brows, my nail salon lady is nice enough to shape mine when she waxes my brows. I tend to go to her bc she's cheaper than my lash salon. I also have low/thick brows btw but I mean, what else can we do but thin the brow, ya know? sucks
Become jeffree star and say goodbye eyebrows .... alright i’m just kidding. Maybe you could try lifting the tail and outer half of your eyebrow for some brow space, but honestly just rock the no lid space look cause you’re still serving looks!
I used to have really open eyes, but since getting Botox for chronic migraines, I now have hooded eyes. After 20+ years of doing my make up one way, I now have to learn something else! Thanks for this video!
Dear Myrna..that was amaazing....thumb ups.......unbelievable how wrong placing of makeup can distort our eye looks....thank you so much for bringing all these steps to our attention.....and me as a hooded eye gal can appreciate it!....big hug...Jana
I knew my makeup looked bad but I didn't know what I was doing wrong. Thanks for this video because I've been doing half of the "bad" look on my eyes for way too long 🙈
I had these issues as a teenager but I learned over time how to change my techniques to suite my hooded eyes. I think it's hard for a lot of girls with hooded lids because most beauty gurus do tutorials that don't work for us.
I have hooded eyes so thank you. I want to compliment you on doing your very best in chosing your words carefully, trying to not offend this easily offended world. Kudos..lol
Wow, this was extremely helpful, considering I have hooded eyes and hate doing my eye makeup. So that's why I've always stuck to wearing mascara only. I'll definitely try these tips.
This is so helpful. I love that you take the time to explain the processes (versus just saying what works and what doesn't). I'm new make up and I can't wait to try these out!
I’ve learned that I can’t trust anyone with my makeup bcuz often times some MUAs (or friends lol) dont know how to work with hooded eyes.. Anyway, Tysm! You’re helping a ton of hooded-eyed gals like me 🙌🏼
Hanna De Fiesta same! Whenever I’ve had my makeup done professionally my eyes end up looking like shit and they always look at me like “what is wrong with your face?”
I also realised i have hooded eyes few days back.. I felt bad about my newly purchased eye shadow pellet.. Now I understood how to do it.. I used the liner wrong in my whole life before.. Thanks soo much.. Soo helpful ❤️
I just want to say 2 things: 1) I hope that by now you know how wonderful you are! 2) thank you! THANK YOU for helping me having beautiful eye makeup even with hooded eyes ❤️
I've just learnt that there is something called hooded eyes; everything made sense... I searched for hooded eye makeup, and this is the first video I watch... I honestly think this is the one and only video I'll watch, because it's so so SO good; I am socked, never thought that little things would change how an eye could look like that! The bad side is literally me whenever I tried following any eye tutorial, and I never knew what or why things went wrong. Thank you.
This is the best eyeshadow tutorial Ive seen on youtube properly explaining where and why I have been failing with my eyeshadow application for hooded eyes. Thanks a million for these tips! Total Game changer!❤❤❤❤
I am EXTREMELY impressed that your open eye is fully open while the other one is closed. When I try to close my one eye, my other eye is almost shut as well 😆
Wow. This really hits home. Stop apologizing, some ppl may use both techniques based on event. Yes some women look beautiful with heavy liner but regardless this really shows how to "open" the eye. I am 56 and have learned a few things about lifting my liner wing but this shows me I'm still doing it wrong for the look I'm trying to achieve which is more eyelid, not less. Thank you!! ❤️
Nice way of putting it 😊 Just getting really into makeup, I absolutely love a pretty eyeliner and eyeshadow, but I've never felt confident trying anything more than the most minimal eye makeup because I never liked the result. I too am attempting to achieve a more clean, elegant, open look like on the "good" side, it's nice to have someone walk through step by step exactly the look I'd love to achieve.
hey Myrna... loved the video. I have extremely hooded eyes so I have almost no space between my mobile lid and the Hood and watching this video makes me hope for the best...I'm always saying gosh I wish I had lids like a lot of girls on here doing makeup tutorials but you did change my perspective on how I feel about my eyes....truly can't wait to try this on myself. thanks so much I'm glad I subscribed to your channel. Naydene.
I struggled with makeup for years, & wondered why. just found your vid, tried this out, and wow! I love my make up!!! I was doing many of those bad eye techniques. Thank you so much, you are a blessing.
I actually love how enormous your bad eye looked with thev heavy liner on your upper lid. It also lifted the eye initially. Would have liked to see simple mascara on the bottom of your bad eye. I realize that was a nineties style, but it looked stunning on you. The darkened bottom area made them smouldering and maybe not bad for a night time look. I thought your good side was a more soft and natural look. Your eyes are so lovely you rock every look.
I know this is an old video but I just stumbled upon it a few days ago and followed all your tips for a party last night and my eye make up looked flawless. I got so many compliments. I didn't even know my hooded eyes could have such good eyeshadow pay off until your video. Can't thank you enough. Much love ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
This is a great tutorial!! You almost can't even see that you have hooded eyes on the "good" side! I will definitely try these tricks out the next time I do my make up!!
Since I've become older, my eyes have become hooded. This video has changed the way I look at myself, and the way other people view me. I used to have plenty of eyelid space, and now I simply don't. To think, I was going to give up all my eye makeup (I LOVE makeup) and just use the liner. And the liner not even correctly. Thanks for helping fight aging in a good and easy (and cheap)way. Many, many thanks.
Thankyou for making me feel that there is nothing wrong with my eye shape. You are totally right, I just have to learn how to work with my eye shape ❤️
Thank you Myrna for an amazing video. I consider myself pretty skilled in applying make up … and I approached your teaching with an open mind and discovered I had NO IDEA that I have hooded eyes! I have been applying my liquid liner in a way that accentuated my hood all these years! I tried your suggestions and not only did I take a fraction of the time doing my eye make up, I loved my new look! Thank you so much for sharing !
This is SO helpful, thank you!! I have hooded and also small almond shaped eyes, and wear glasses. I really struggle with how to make them appear larger and visible behind my glasses.
Wow just discovered this video and it is life changing!!!! I have been applying the eye shadows incorrectly and wondering why these tutorials don't work out for me! Thank you for this very educational video for us hooded eye girls! :)
hey guys, here are answers to the most asked questions i've seen in the comments:

4) for those asking about my eyebrows, i did get them done here in berlin at a place called belladerma. they are not microbladed but done with regular permanent makeup using long time liner colors, and i have both hair strokes and shading. i drew on my shape myself, and i did tell them exactly how i want them and came in for several touchups until i was happy with them. they have lasted me almost 3 years now! there is some fading though, so i will probably get them touched up some time next year.
5) I love you guys! :)
What is the chubby liner you use to tight line?
Makeup by Myrna just found your channel. You are amazing, so glad I found you! What a helpful tutorial...subbed!!
Makeup by Myrna
It makes your L eyebrow seem closer to your nose bridge. Weird...
Makeup by Myrna wow thx that's so helpful...😁
What did you use to tightline?? Is that eye liner?

Lol
still trying 😭😭😭 my eyelid crease and the crease get exagerrated 😢😢😢
This is the only tutorial that needs to be on UA-cam for basic hooded-eye make up application. Definitive. Well done Myrna.
Putting the shadow ABOVE my crease and tightlining the upper lid.. So clever!! *mind blown*
Haley Lister is this sarcastic?
TheLadyPlantagenet I don't think, it was really a smart move
TheLadyPlantagenet I think she was surprised as many of us who have hooded eyes that something so simple solves our everyday problems. I stopped applying eye shadow and eyeliner because it always falls off my eyes, now I'm excited to try this!!

Never forget that Kate Moss has hooded eyes. They're all just jealous :D
Maja Slavković dont forget the beautiful jennifer lawrence as well
jen tangen i actually think hooded eyes are so pretty. I wish I had them sometimes. I feel like my eyes are too big
doesnt Nikkitutorials have hooded eyes?
I hate my hooded eyes. I can't do makeup like most youtube gurus do. But I'm very glad if I found actual hooded eye gurus
There’s so much space between her eye lid and her eyebrows. My hooded eyes are just crease then eyebrows. No room to work with 🤦🏼♀️
Same here the struggle 😂
It’s because her eyebrows are raised high
Yeah I have yet to find a makeup artist that has REALLY hooded eyes like I do. I have absolutely no lid space to work with and my space before the brow is too puffy for anything to look cute
same
Me too 😔
I only recently noticed i have hooded eyes 😒
It explains why my makeup never came out nice after following tutorials. I'm slowly learning to change up my ways. Thanks girl ❤️
Suriya Ali me too
Foof y ikr its anooyying
Same here was hard to accept but I'm all for embracing my body so done with the self hate! I can't wait to try this out
Same. I've learned to pull my liner up not out but was still using too much. I WANT the look she does on her left eye, for my daily look and couldn't figure out why I couldn't see my eye shadow. Smoky eyes are great for a special event though too 😁
LOVED the tutorial!! Also... appreciate how you get straight to the tutorial and talk less than many other channels out there!
my problem is I have hooded eyes, low brows /and/ shaky hands haha
sophie 😂 this made me LOL.
Same. I literally started pulling a Jeffree star and shaving mine off from underneath and bulking them up too to move them up higher. It's made all the difference!
Same!!!! 😤😂
ME TOO
Hooded eyes and eyebrows here too lol, I'm like "bring it up where?! that's where the highlighter in my non-existing eyebrow arch is supposed to go?!" :D
I like how her bad side is not super dramatic unlike other bad-side-good-side videos
this was so eye opening ( no pun intended)
mindyourownbusiness lol
This deserves more likes
Lmfao 😂😂😂 good one!
I guess you were just "winging" it. I'm blushing for you and this is an eyeshadow tutorial.
HAHAHA
The left side looks like Emma Stone and the right side looks like Margo Robbie
🤣
Not a bad thing she’s beautiful .🙂
She’s beautiful without makeup 🥰
What did you use for tight line
Exactly!
i love your voice and how soft you sound, you're not screaming hello beautiful at the top of your lungs for the opening (its great and all lots of youtubers do it but some days i need a nice toned voice), and this video is so useful thank you so much
shikara sky jjbv
Agreed! This is part of why I like her so much, her voice is easy to listen to. I sometimes wonder why she rarely smiles though, she is so beautiful when she smiles!

shikara sky seriously ! I can’t stand that tv commercial-seeming you tubers
I am a 50 yr old woman and have hooded eyes. This is by far the best video I have seen. Thank you for keeping it short and to the point. I can't wait to try the techniques.

Kinda random comment, but I hope you've been able to catch up with some sleep... It's so crucial
I'm almost 50 and I always want to look my best, but also keep it somewhat natural. have learned so much from this. Thank you! You are great to watch and you make it look easy :)

Makeup by Myrna great video 👏❤ i hate my hooded yes but I can do nothing about that.. all your tips are great.. but what happens with false lashes? they always look too big on my eyes and no flattering at all 😕😕😕
Makeup by Myrna *hooded eyes
try the red cherry 747s lashes! they are very short and natural and work perfectly for hooded eyes!
Makeup by Myrna thank you for the response 😊 I will give them a try!
Diana Aitken This is me 🙌
Your eyebrow tattoo is the best I have ever seen,,,whoever did it really knew what they were doing. Looks great! Great tutorial for hooded eyes.
This was the best tutorial I have ever seen for hooded eyes! Thanks sooooo much!!❤️❤️
amy harris so glad, thanks amy! 😊
I agree. I have seen so many but this really was detailed and EXPLAINED WHY which is helpful. Thank you ❤️
I absolutley AGREE! (see above :o)
amy harris Agreed
TOTALLY agree!
Holy crap! I have been doing my eye makeup so freaking wrong! I basically do everything you did on your left eye except for the eye shadow. Thank you so much for sharing this! It has helped me so much!
Love the way you did your makeup. Left was "emo goals" when I was an angsty teen.
Here's a long, chatty video about DO's & DON'Ts for hooded eyes! Took ages to upload :/ i hope this video is helpful ♥
Makeup by Myrna share with us ur fab colourpop
Thanks for uploading. I just don't like MU brands that test on animals, but apart from that some really helpful tips.
Makeup by Myrna it's PERFECT! Thank you!
@ Ruth E, how do you know which brands do and which don't test on animals?
I love your video!! I was hoping you could share what products you used? Would love to snag the eyes liners you used on the good eye.
i think the "bad side" still looks really pretty, maybe just more 90's style or something. You still look very beautiful, both sides.
Bad side is bad
I was doing everything on the bad side. I followed your tutorial and HOLY COW!!! it looks amazing! Thanks !
OMG. God bless you for this video!
sheaduchess same!
This
I am 50. Just realized a few months ago I have hooded eyes. I just thought they were pretty green eyes for half a century.
Best tutorial on hooded eyes that I’ve seen. Thank you!!
Same!
Thank you! I have struggled forever on how to show off my shadow when eyes are open. I thought doing thicker liner on top would help. Your video was literally eye opening, can’t wait to try the tips you have listed.
I have no lid space. My hood touches my lash line. The good part is I don't have to curl my lashes cause my hood does it for me.. lol
I can't do a cat eye or a flick cause you can't see it if I do try it looks like Amy Winehouse did my liner..
My eyes are also deep set so I have to watch darker shadows towards the inner eye part.
Lots and lots of experimenting on trying to figure out what works and what doesn't.
Betty June yep, I get the Amy Winehouse thing too. have tried so many times but a wing disappears unless I do it massive 😢
Hahaha same. I just discovered what this eye shape is called so I had many ugly tries before finding the right way to do things
I Care. Thank you 😚
Absolutely appreciate that you addressed ridiculous, and not being offended, and pointing out that it’s a shape. That goes a long way.
Wow, what a difference! I recently discovered that I have hooded eyes and have been working on applying my eyeshadows better. I have very little lid space and struggle with finding the right brushes to use. Would love to see a video on what brushes to use for small hooded eyes!
If you look at women generally there are more with hooded eyes than without. Don't hate your eyes they are beautiful
Marcella K I'm 31 and I discovered a few minutes ago with this video.
It's amazing how simple this solution is but most people like me never realized that it is possible.
My problem is that I have hooded eyes as well as naturally really low and thick eyebrows so I have no lid space or upper eye space... What do I do
Sierra Htims Has I don’t have much upper eyelid/ brow room either lolz
maybe find a salon that waxes or threads brows, my nail salon lady is nice enough to shape mine when she waxes my brows. I tend to go to her bc she's cheaper than my lash salon. I also have low/thick brows btw but I mean, what else can we do but thin the brow, ya know? sucks
Sierra Htims I’m the exact same
Ugh same :( It sucks. I just wanna do cute eyeshadow looks!! Tho I already have thin (??) brows I think?? Idk theyre so blonde I legit cant tell lol
Become jeffree star and say goodbye eyebrows
.... alright i’m just kidding. Maybe you could try lifting the tail and outer half of your eyebrow for some brow space, but honestly just rock the no lid space look cause you’re still serving looks!
I have hooded eyes, I usually do "the badside" and I love how it looks on me ;)
I thought the bad eye looked better.
I used to have really open eyes, but since getting Botox for chronic migraines, I now have hooded eyes. After 20+ years of doing my make up one way, I now have to learn something else! Thanks for this video!
Interesting! I'd have thought botox would lift the eye!
See, I'm that 5% that tries to do the good side, but ends up doing the bad side on accident
Me too honestly
Me too!! 😉
Me too... 😫
Same 🤣
same >.
Dear Myrna..that was amaazing....thumb ups.......unbelievable how wrong placing of makeup can distort our eye looks....thank you so much for bringing all these steps to our attention.....and me as a hooded eye gal can appreciate it!....big hug...Jana
Jana Kleinerova thanks so much! 😘
I knew my makeup looked bad but I didn't know what I was doing wrong. Thanks for this video because I've been doing half of the "bad" look on my eyes for way too long 🙈
SChaffee me too!! All of the sudden my eye makeup started looking so bad and I had no idea why!
same haha
I had these issues as a teenager but I learned over time how to change my techniques to suite my hooded eyes. I think it's hard for a lot of girls with hooded lids because most beauty gurus do tutorials that don't work for us.
SChaffee same here
I love your tutorial. It helps me change the way I do my eye makeup. Thank you so much.
This is so far the best video on hooded eyes I’ve watched. Illustrated and explained well. She’s my fave ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have hooded eyes and have seen many tutorials. Yours is absolutely the BEST!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! ♡♡♡
I have hooded eyes so thank you. I want to compliment you on doing your very best in chosing your words carefully, trying to not offend this easily offended world. Kudos..lol
I agree! So diplomatic. She comes across so darling.
Wow, this was extremely helpful, considering I have hooded eyes and hate doing my eye makeup. So that's why I've always stuck to wearing mascara only. I'll definitely try these tips.

That bright color in the eyelids popped my eyes so much more visible and I'm totally hooked on this look 😄 Thank you so much!
This has literally changed my life. You should win an award.
Wow! I was impressed how big of a difference in the two. It looks like two different eyes. You explained it really well. Great video
I just want to say 2 things:
1) I hope that by now you know how wonderful you are!
2) thank you! THANK YOU for helping me having beautiful eye makeup even with hooded eyes ❤️
This is the most helpful video I've ever seen. I realise where I've been going wrong all these years now! THANK YOU!
Katie Jones me too girl.
Total Game changer!❤❤❤❤
great video! I would love to see a how to do a half cut crease for hooded eyes! :)
coming next :)
I am EXTREMELY impressed that your open eye is fully open while the other one is closed. When I try to close my one eye, my other eye is almost shut as well 😆
Like any other time I can wink but when I'm applying make up I become incapable 😅🤣
Naydene.
naydene coronado-diaz thank you for this comment 💗
I struggled with makeup for years, & wondered why. just found your vid, tried this out, and wow! I love my make up!!! I was doing many of those bad eye techniques. Thank you so much, you are a blessing.
probably one of the most useful makeup video out there. Thanks!
Absolutely, its so very helpful. One of the best I've seen!
Very helpful x
I love heavy black around hooded eyes, the "wrong" look, just like yours, only with a big eyeliner wing. It gives hooded eyes that toxic stare
Thanks... you gave wonderful, detailed advice. I only wish I knew this when I was younger!
My entire life suddenly makes sense. Thank you thank you thank you.
This is a great tutorial!! You almost can't even see that you have hooded eyes on the "good" side! I will definitely try these tricks out the next time I do my make up!!
wow my eyeliner always looked like the don't ! i finally figured out how to do the right thing
Seriously?! I needed this video like five years ago. Thank you thank you thank you!!
Thankyou for making me feel that there is nothing wrong with my eye shape. You are totally right, I just have to learn how to work with my eye shape ❤️
I was kinda losing hope because i thought i can never get an eye makeup.....but thankyou so much for this video
This was really helpful. I have hooded eyes & no idea how to do my eyes, so I don't do them, but want to . Thank you!
Wow just discovered this video and it is life changing!!!! I have been applying the eye shadows incorrectly and wondering why these tutorials don't work out for me! Thank you for this very educational video for us hooded eye girls! :)
This is the best hooded eye tutorial on utube! You did a great job girlfriend!
