I absolutely LOVED HEARING YOU SAY "yes you will see your wrinkles once your face has product on it… That's OK that's natural you can't avoid it" I can't tell you how many women over 50 watch my UA-cam videos for mature women and are so afraid of powder and concealer because of fine lines. Ridiculous! It's aging skin, there's no avoiding this. Thank you for saying it out loud!!! 😘

I think she looks great. She has crowfeet. May i suggest not applying concealer on the crow feet instead use shea butter or vita E. Which will prevent further crowfeet from spreading or shea butter or vita e with a moisturizing color tint closest to your skin color or just leave it and apply either one of those. ..shea or vita E smooth out the lines and protect that area from further lines.Good luck. You are beautiful. Dont need much makeup.

@@dreamabraxton5884 That's a much better idea. Why put that bright stuff which will only draw attention to the lines? I say keep them moisturized, as you suggest, and put the concealer or makeup LOWER, than the wrinkles and lines.

I watch loads of make up tutorials but subscribe to very few. Nisha, when you said some wrinkles will still show, "so what"? I smiled and told myself, this is why I subscribe to Nisha because that's exactly what I was thinking right before you said It! I'm a mature woman and my wrinkles and lines don't bother me one bit. Thank you for all the wonderful videos that don't make those of us who aren't in our 20s anymore feel as if we've done something wrong because we're aging!

I feel the same way. I can deal with a few light wrinkles, but the sagging of my hooded eyes drives me nuts. I know it is from me going tanning and spending hours on the beach off and on in the late 80's until around 2000. If I only knew then what I know now. I try to help my two beautiful daughters understand that they have an advantage with having a mother that now has the knowledge and is willing to help them prevent sun damage. My oldest daughter will be 25 in October and my youngest will be 20 in July... I keep telling them START anti-aging and SPF... but it goes in one ear and out the other.

I use moisturizer and also primer also when I put my shadow on I have learned to pat it on and blend as little as possible so it doesn't show the nasty looking eye lids. oh well we all have something so we all March forward and smile.

Hello dear Trisha! I am Verónica from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am turning 48 in October, separated with two teenaged sons.
I am an English teacher and translator. I tell you that I came across your videos as I was looking for vocabulary connected with skin and cosmetics! After having watched two of them I immediately wanted to say THANK YOU!!! You touched my heart when you so naturally show us your ¨wrinkles¨ and tell us to embrace them, I felt very deep inside me that I am not alone in the experience of aging, your advice is so wise and yet so difficult to put into into practice. You need to be brave and strong to be able to follow it. In a time when all cosmetics are anti age, and youth is an admired and much desired asset, your words show an act of self love and self respect. You are my model. Congratulations on your videos! This morning I went to work wearing make-up after years of just washing my face and leave in a hurry, I even bought a small brush for my shadows to correct my droopy eyes! lol
Well, keep always your smile and your sincere and happy eyes!
    Vero

All this time and I never thought of pulling the wrinkles taut before patting on my concealer!! It's obvious when u say it but I just didn't consider it! Thank u so much Nisha I have learnt a new camouflage trick 😃. Also you are the first one to say out loud that make up won't hide the wrinkles, concealer only hides dark circles or discolouration - not wrinkles. We must learn to love our 'smile lines' 😊 xx

I am 68 and have my share of wrinkles. I have very dry skin and have never liked the way powder felt or looked on my face. Recently, I read recommendations for By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder for setting concealer under the eyes and got myself a $20 sample off eBay (1.3g / .045 oz, aka travel size). I am amazed that I love the results. I moisturize, then apply Elf Hydrating Under Eye Primer, Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer and then apply the powder with a small flat brush. The By Terry powder is available in high-end department stores and from Amazon for around $60, but honestly, this little sample jar will probably last me for a year. It is very finely milled.
Love your tutorials, Nisha, and appreciate your realistic approach to "hiding" wrinkles. I have found the magic last step is to get away from that magnifying mirror!

Lady Jersey, the combination of under-eye products I described above work beautifully for my dry skin. I have tried many others with varying results. I have to lay out my products in the order I need them so that I don't forget a step, because there is definitely a difference when I don't use the Elf Hydrating Under Eye Primer. It comes in a slender pump tube and I only need one tiny pump for both eyes. The By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder is the only powder I have found that gives me the look I want.

Suzanne Smith ..I so know, what you mean with dry skin & powders ;) Tarte Maracuja is my fave too! I use it after eye gel, First Aid Beauty Triple Eye Remedy/ Smashbox Under Eye Primer and tiny amount of Hourglass or Cover FX powder. Have been interested with By Terry Hyaluron Powder too, because of I love hyaluron serums! Wasn't sure, if it would work with powder, but now I think I have to order By Terry next :) What's your current fave foundation?

I struggle with dry under eyes specially in the winter time. And of course fine lines and all other wonderful things that happen with age and genes. After trying many products Palemr's Daily Skin Therapy Cocoa butter with vit E cream works magic for me. It's a oily product so might not work for everyone. I put it under my eye cream and let it sit there for a minute or so before I apply make up. It can be a great addition to at night under the eye cream. Also a great product for no make up stay at home day to give your eye extra moisture. Thought I share since it's been wonderful for me. Love your videos 😊

Thank you for the great advice. You have such a beautiful smile. I have started, after I have showered, wearing eye masks as I do my hair. You are supposed to leave them on for 10-20 minutes. I pick them up at TJ Maxx or in Canada at Winners. There is always a bit of serum left at the end and I gently pat it in and that seems to really hydrate my eyes before putting on concealer. I've found using a small dry makeup wedge works best for me and I pat in a small amount of the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in small dots only where needed. Then I use an old Japanese fan I have to dry my skin so that when I brush on a tiny bit of powder it does not stick or cake up. Seems to all work well.

I've got the shape tape which is good, but what I'm living right now is DERMABLEND camo concealer. Its still very thin and highly pigmented at the same time. Also it includes redness color correcting for my cheeks. Also bye bye redness from ITcosmetics looks amazing under my eyes and stayed amazing until I washed it off. Those are my tips. No baking, I think it makes mine look so dry!

I’ve tried many (I was a pro make up artist for yrs, but fashion models in my work, were all young!) and now as I’m older myself, I’ve had to try different methods on myself. I find Maybelline Eraser concealer to be very good. I don’t like the fat sponge tip, I’d rather it was smaller to get a precise application in inner eye corners but I pat with a small brush and little finger

Jojoba oil with your concealer helps a lot if your concealer is thick. It also helps smooth out the concealer if it does happen to crease (and it will). At 48, I'm slowly learning to embrace my wrinkles and hide them at the same time. Without makeup though, you can barely see my wrinkles.

IAmAGhost My problem with prepping the area with jojoba oil is that my waterproof mascara ends up smudging by midday even when I use the smallest amount. I prep the area with hayurlonic acid serum right after washing. I find the shape tape is such a dry formula, but has great coverage. It's true, we can't have it all. ❣

I've never used oil post makeup but I have patted a tiny bit of moisturizer under my eyes in the day to help with lines. As long as its very little and pat it gently, it does really well for me. It kinda melts in with the peoduct and disperses around to make wrinkles much less noticeable. You can also play with different shades of concealers to help hid wrinkles too. The whole shade and light thing. If you can figure it out, you can use to make optical illusions to hid them more.

No, really, at our age we can't have it all. What I am for is to look as good as I can look. Concealer does improve my look because I have awful darkness under my eyes and my skin is so dry that all products just get sucked in during the day. So I touch up through out the day. The way I figure it, people with oily skin have to blot; I have to bring moisture back periodically. I can do that. i appreciate your wise, realistic perspective!

I am regretting my years of sun baking! I am 52 and hanging in there but for sure should drink more water! I honestly can't stand to drink it. (how horrible am I)! Does diet coke count? (just kidding) but I do drink a crap ton of the stuff. Ok, trippy lets go get a glass of the blah stuff!! :)

trippy777loves80guru I also have dark eye circles, especially dark in the corners. I use cc cream and translucent powder. if the darkness is particularly bad I then top that off with powder foundation. Concealer never seems to work very well for me . I haven't tried the tarte shape tape or the Urban Decay. I hate to buy one more expensive concealer and have it not work. The darkness bothers me more than the wrinkles but the wrinkles are catching up! Oh what to do 😀

Great advice. I’ve learnt recently that if you’ve got grey blue under the eyes orange colour fix works well blended in over that area. I get sinus troubles always leaves my eye area grey/blue. Orange is opposite to blue so it counteracts my skin colour. Works for me.

I have been looking for a concealer that works for women over 60 and all I've seen are videos that show women (girls!) who have beautiful young skin to start with! This does not help me at all! Thank you for the comments about "not having it all" we need to remember that we are not 20 anymore and that is ok. This video made a difference for this grandma who still feels young and would like to have a little "boost" with a concealer hopefully looking a bit more rested and fresh!

Putting your fine powder on with the same damp sponge I find works much better than a brush ..., and I personally never stretch my under eye or rub my eyes at all. I was taught , from watching at my elegant aunts side constantly as a very young child , to pat on anything to do with the eyes using the weakest finger ,the ring finger.
I'm 50 and honestly have no eye wrinkles yet so its good advice that worked for me girls!

I had surgery under my eyes to remove the hollows/baggy area and had fat transferred to my tear troughs. I realize not for everyone but my under eye area really aged my face. Now I infrequently use concealer or even foundation. I've taken good care of my skin and I am enjoying it again because the under eye area is not a concern anymore. I'm 59.

  • @sharongalloway3966

I have started leaving out the concealer under my eye. I just use my foundation and go lightly on the powder, but fortunately I don't have dark circles. When I did use concealer I was finding my under eye area was making me look 107 years old by the end of the day 😱 a good trick that I can recommend if you need to use concealer for discolouration, is by using Squalane Oil after your moisturiser and before concealer. If you pat a small amount under your eyes it helps to keep the area moisturised so it doesn't dry out as easily. 😃

Sharon Galloway - I LOVE the Ordinary's squalene oil. I use it at night as the last step after my moisturiser, and it leaves my skin beautifully smooth and velvety soft.
My skin is oily, so I don't use it under makeup, but I can imagine it would would give a lovely finish, using one drop and letting it sink in.

Very true and we should embrace the fact that wrinkles can not be hidden completely:) I do not use concealers nor full coverage foundation. The more I put the more wrinkles are visible. I use either tinted SPF only or light foundation just to even a bit the skin imperfections such as capillaries. I tap with the finger under the eyes, let it set 5-10 min, tap again and then put translucent powder, but not too much. I would rather see through some imperfections and look more natural than to look cakey after a long working day or late night party.

I don't think you should ever pull on the delicate skin around your eye? What works for me, is just to use a smaller sponge with a square at the bottom (so you can rely on that sharp edge), and gently use that edge to sweep the concealer upwards while patting. That fine edge gets the concealer into the lines in the same way it would by pulling on your skin. Since I have been doing that, I do not get concealer creasing into the lines anymore. Just another tip that may or may not work for you. Thanks for the great vids! My husband and mother are from middle England. Greetings from California. :)

I like Tarte's, By The Sea concealer, it is very light and has a liquid consistency to it which makes it easy to pat in and set. I only put it on the dark areas not all over and use a very, very small amount of powder to set it. I am 46 and have accumulated a drawer full of concealers, all of which were too thick for me. This Tarte product sure works nicely and has a very natural finish to it. I do on occassion dab a tiny bit of coconut oil under my eyes when they feel dryer, this works great just not too much tho.

I do not have wrinkles under my eyes but I do have thin skin that wrinkles under the weight of makeup. I have no wrinkles under the eyes before makeup but I do have them after I apply makeup. I have to plump up my under eye area with some good hydration before I apply makeup. I didn't think I could get away with using powder under my eyes but Nisha is right. A light dusting with a good translucent powder helps keep the creasing at bay. You do have to pat it every few hours to keep it in place but it is much better than not using powder. I use a puff and lightly press it into the skin.
I do use facial oils but not under the eyes. Oil is to heavy to use under the eyes with makeup.

For me, when ever I use powder under my eyes, it makes the wrinkles stand out more. So I use Chanel Aqua Lumiere foundation (light-medium coverage with a dewy finish) and a light coating of Charlotte Tillberry magic concealer and NO powder under my eyes. I use a very slightly damp beauty blender to apply concealer. It has taken me a little trial and error to find the right combination of foundation and concealer but this combo works best for me. I tried the so called “worlds best concealer” Shape tape, and it was so heavy you could see every wrinkly a mile a way.
