As an ENTP myself, I really recognize what you were saying about discarting people who don't support, even or work against my vision... Being a woman and being brainwashed with the idea that I should be nice and kind and agreeable to everyone, I have questioned the state of my psyche many times; am I a narcissist?? :( I do care for others and don't want to hurt them -my vision even includes helping them in a certain way- so this abillity to discart so easily left me really confused. Luckily, your explanation resolved this mystery for me.. Thank you. Good to know I'm not a cold hearted psychopath, ha! ;) I hope to learn more from your videos, cheers!

My brilliant ENTP son. He came home from his 9th grade health class feeling hurt/misunderstood by his teacher, who he liked a lot and had a good relationship with.
The lesson was about substance use and the teacher had the students try to pour (using water) what they “eyeballed” to be a shot of liqueur, a glass of wine and a glass of beer.
Then the teacher pointed out how off they were in their pours. The point of the lesson was that they shouldn’t drink alcohol because they don’t know how to pour drinks right and that could be dangerous.
My son asked when the rest of the lesson was going to be. When she was going to teach them how to do it right.
She got defensive and said that was definitely not going to be taught, as that is encouraging teens to drink.
My son said no it’s not. He said choosing to drink is a values based decision and the lesson wasn’t about values.
He said it goes against the core principle of education, that teachers have promoted his whole life. “If you don’t know how to do something, don’t let it scare you from being a beginner, trying, and learning”.
He also said it’s a disservice to those who choose to drink to just show them they pour too much alcohol without showing them how to do it properly and accurately.
The teacher then said “stop talking now”.
He’s a strong young man. He could see the humor in it, but admitted he actually felt hurt that the teacher didn’t want to consider his opinion, which he believed was a gift of helpfulness.

An ENTP calling out the flaws in the system - love it.

I am ENTP and as a musician who was misdiagnosed with ADHD as a youngster and bombarded with a host of pharmaceuticals despite being an excellent student your insights are some of the most astute and thoughtful I have encountered. Your analogy of "the out of body" like experience when ENTPs ascend into their visions really blew my hair back. Spot on. My one personal mutation is instead of moving individuals in and out of my symphony I have always removed my self to materialize elsewhere, which also has kept my powers of adaptability sharp and ever at the ready.
Thank you for your potent observations!

What a beautiful Ni Ti way to describe us. I felt everything 100%, being misunderstood especially as a female ENTP is sometimes painful because as you said, we don't have any ill intent, it's just Ti leading the way. Thank you for understanding us with this video ✨

Hi Scott, great video. I've worked for an ENTP manager. Great brain-stormer and allowing me sufficient autonomy to my own job. The ENTP was unhealthy in a way of not taking care of the body (your comment of living in their vision instead of living in their body resonates here). Others (especially the linear thinkers with Te) could be disturbed by the ENTP jumping from one idea to the other (they would perceive the ENTP as chaotic) and the lack of focus on facts would also disturb the STJs. I (ESTP) would take the best ideas and work them out like an operational manager being the right hand of the boss. All the other ideas I would dismiss. When stressed, the ENTP would indeed get very instructive. Great to have learned from your video this was the shadow function playing up. Many people found the ENTP used people. The ENTP usually applied Thinker communication (very direct, critical and no empathy) leading to many upset co-workers and it could easily lead to verbal conflicts. There was zero match between the Feeling types and the ENTP.

You sir just blew my mind, as an INFJ in a serious relationship with an ENTP this video really helped make sense of how she process the world!

You did an incredibly objective and insightful job describing us!
Some people “get competitive” or “ play down” our characteristics. You did the opposite. It came across as your wanting to respect us and genuinely understand what makes us tick. Well done!

This was a great breakdown. As an ENTP I loved the gramophone analogy. I can identify with that. Also really liked the conducting a symphony analogy. The analogies really helped with a visualisation of the points you were trying to get across.
