@@krishanubanerjee6955 If you want all the processing done on the drone itself, then sure. But with a high speed low latency connection it can be controlled by a computer from far away. And 5G provides just that. The drone can have just minimal self control for stability while the computer controlling it is not limited when it comes to hardware and power use. GPU on the computer can analyze the video stream and figure out where to go and even how to avoid obstacles. Add a solid-state LIDAR like in some iPhones and you have a 3D map of the environment for perfect accuracy. An example of (some of) this already exists in the DJI Tello drone. It doesn't even have a controller. The only thing it can do by itself is remain stable over a spot vertically and horizontally (using a down-facing camera and an IR sensor) and send telemetry back to a phone over a direct WiFi connection. The phone does all the required thinking based on the telemetry from the sensors and then it can do all sorts of things. You control it via virtual joysticks on the phone screen (or you can plug a game controller into the phone and it becomes much better). Since the API is open, 3rd party apps for it are better than the official app and the programmers have already added functionality that no one could have predicted. I talked to one of them. Main limitation was the computing power of the phone. But eventually he added face tracking anyway... So you don't really need miniaturization to do it today. The scary part is how cheap it is.

EMP: Straight, Simple, Quick, and Dirty, though it might knock out some other things, a small personal EMP could reach a radius of a few feet. Netting: Thin, tight, mesh netting could stop these things in an instant. A Fucking Hose: It would be hard and very expensive to make these drones 100 percent water proof. If they aren't, turn on the grass sprinkler and live in safety. If they are, then just get a riot control water house and wield it like a flamethrower. Also makeup artists are really good, do you see how they can change a face in like half an hour? Just Hide: The battery life for those tiny little things has to be like 30 minutes maximum, not only are they carrying a heavy explosive, and are either have a really strong (And Power Consuming) internet connection, or are running a really good (And also Power Consuming) facial recognition software.

The use-case for these would quick-strike surprise attacks, not search-and-destroy. You're talking about mission that last 1-2 minutes tops. @@GainsGoblin Why are you ignoring the larger drones that carry the smaller drones as a payload? The core tech is not speculative anymore. Miniaturization to the extent shown here, however, is probably a decade or so away!
@@krishanubanerjee6955 more like it already exists

You will be dead even before you switch on your EMP generator (if you have it available at all).
You won't even be able to rise your hand between realizing the drone is approaching and being killed.
I looooove the visual in the Ted talk presentation, of the explosive firing into the skull. It's so DARK and it BOTHERS ME how it clearly aims to go through the thalamus and basically the main center of the brain with crucial responsibilities for survival
That was not a short horror film, that is more like a warning ... Well made and I'm sure everyone will remember this and even bring it up in conversation, if someone gets assassinated and there's no suspect , we will be like ..., "could it have been....?" 😳
I think you meant when someone gets assassinated. One world leader was already targeted but the drone didn’t explode on target

Technology gets smaller and cheaper over time. This is going to create serious problems of totalitarianism in the future if we don't have a coalition of countries band together and outlaw the use of them, the way we did with nukes.
Insane
The technology is here
the tech already exists, except the computational power for something a palm sized drone could lift would only be able to detect human faces... maybe the wifi MAC address of someone's phone. individual faces would require a remote link to some very heavy computational power... for now at least.
3:07 "They even can form a swastika."
wth
Lol
Or a hammer and sickle.
lol
Cool, taking peoples freedom of speech away seems like a nice beginning
Soooo...
If I give this video a thumbs up, do I become a target for a drone attack?
BANG!
Yep
no, donald trump is the president now
you've seen the video your already a target
Potentially yes, frankly. There are articles out right now about reporters in Africa who are leery of talking over the phone with people who have witnessed US airstricks, on the basis that simply talking over the phone about them might put them on the list of a monitoring algorithm that might select them as targets.
more reasons to like
I like how the scriptwriter felt the need to give the robots to terrorists as if the government having those wouldnt be fucking terrible
