This is such a great concept. The ending had me with mixed emotions: I was confused because i did not know if he was imagining it all or if it was real, I was mad that he didn’t shoot her and I was anxious to what was coming next.
It is crazy how one can bond with a person so fast over 16min without even knowing their background.
      Thank you for this masterpiece!

How the rain began to pour
Laying bleeding as she cried out
    'Be you curesed forevermore'
Grass grow kneehigh on your lonesome grave,
How I prayed for hour oh lord your soul to save

@@jimmystokes1407There have been several comparisons to the story of Circe in these comments so looking that up might help u understand. Circe was a sea witch of sorts living on her own island when a boat of men landed on her shore. she took them in and fed them when they took advantage of her graces and assaulted her because they realized she was alone and there was no man who was going to save her. then she turned them all into pigs!
from what i can gather, the song here is telling us that her mother was similarly assaulted by men and now she must avenge her mother by turning every man who comes to her farm into an animal. hope this helps

As a child during a visit to my grandfather's farm I slept in a room at the end of the house near the gate at the end of a long driveway. Some ancestor was said to have died in that room. One night I woke up when the house was dark and quiet. I was compelled to go to the window after hearing the hooves of a horse as if it had walked past the window all the way to the garage and back down to the gate. I looked out the window and saw a white horse, just standing there, staring at me. It was comforting somehow even though I felt a bit scared by the eeriness. There were no horses on the farm. I went back to bed and the next day no-one would believe what I saw. Since then I have come to accept that it was a vision of a guardian or animal spirit guide. I was born on 'the day of abandon', December 8th, symbolised by a horse.

That's a haunting and beautiful experience. Once, when I was in high school I was at a party on a farm and I wandered outside and leaned on a fence -- which was electrified -- and it shocked me. I jumped back just as a white horse emerged out of the fog in front of me. It was terrifying to me because it was just floating in the night and I was convinced for a few moments that I was dead, or almost dead... and it was there to summon me. I think for every experience there's the ordinary, surface level reality... and then all that inexplicably strange spiritual stuff swirling around under the surface.

The acting was on point. I absolutely love Amanda Seyfried, and have just about watched every movie or show she has acted in😊
I’m not sure if anyone has even commented on Amanda and Thomas Sadoski not only both starring alongside in this short, but too The Crowded Room, or whether their onscreen chemistry is so strong and natural and makes sense, considering they are husband and wife🥰
Amanda really commits to any role she’s playing.
This was superb! The location and backdrop was breathtaking.
Her voice can be likened to that of a siren. She’s mesmerising😍
I only just realised. At the very start. When she’s breaking the beautiful white horse in, she says, “you’re okay, it was only a bad dream”.
The exact same thing she said to Christian, before he was turned too.
I’m wondering if the past stable hands could also see their predecessors, or was it only Christian?🤔

The movie has no jumpscares but had a scary vibe. Its kind of a place which attracts troubled men to be taken to a mental safe haven only in a form of an animal. Its kind of a generational witch clan who controls the farm. The movie has a good vibe especially Amanda's eerie humming and wierdly beautiful songs

Great short! How did you get Amanda, with her beautifully haunting vocals? Hell of a fable with equally as good a story. I wonder how long this shoot was. My experience with short films having differed from single take indie experience to big productions that tend to run a bit longer but it can be fleshed out by the finally created film the quality can then be seen. This would have been even better as a 30 minute short. I loved this! Well done!

    Birth of the curse:
“How well I remember, I was just a girl. Pull my mother out the kitchen door,
How she struggled when they kissed her. How the rain began to pour.
Lay and bleed and how she cried out ‘Be you cursed forevermore.’
Grass grow knee-high on your lonesome grave,
How I pray for hours, oh Lord, your soul to save.
But there ain’t no Lord in heaven,
    only men and beast below.
So I swore to you a promise, ‘Be they cursed before I go.’”

Wonderful acting! The low-key singing is done just perfect - beautiful but not unrealistically so, and both haunting and ominous.
I'm very fascinated by this version of the witch: Apart from that quirk of transfiguring men into farm yard animals, she doesn't seem to be evil, or even cruel. So now I both want to know why she's doing it - that first song she's singing seems to hint at something really awful - and at the same time I'm glad the film leaves it open.

The acting was spot on with tension building throughout.
There is a turn of the century cemetery on the family farm and it has those vibes alluded to in this work and my curiosity is always peaked as it is made of two families.
