      Every time there’s a really good short people always say it needs to be full length, but it would drag out too long and the very people who suggest it usually have short attention spans

    • @mattiguessidk
      @mattiguessidk 8 місяців тому +7

      @@TayWoode its not just attention spans, usually shorts are so good because they don't have time to explain everything. They can have a thousand loose ends that aren't questioned because its a short. Once its a full length movie, they start running into issues and plot holes that end up ruining it.

    • @TayWoode
      @TayWoode 8 місяців тому +2

      @@mattiguessidk yes I agree, that’s why these are really good, short and you think 🤷🏾‍♂️what? 😂
      Then people try & expand and spoil it, I liked all the backroom & SPC style stuff but then young kids are making it like a cartoon style, silly music, childish graphics etc
      If that makes any sense

      except its NOT horror!
      alter has some of the best short films on youtube. high production values, good acting and writing. but what is it with your obsession of calling every film a horror film? this was an excellent film. (didn't like the ending though.) but its NOT a horror film. this is more in line with fantasy and science fiction.
      only about 20% of alter's shorts that i've seen actually qualifies as horror. but you still label them as such. they're still good films. so why misrepresent them as something they're not? just the name ALTER carries enough weight to get people to watch. so why bait them? just label them correctly and people will STILL watch!

    O.I. = "Original Idea"
    This story works well because the short format doesn't require it to have more than its very basic anatomy. The guy at the bar, the bartender, the businessman who walks in, and Chekhov's gun up there behind the bar.
    If this were much longer than it is, it would have to start answering various questions that would dilute its power. The punch line is also hilarious, where the story ends exactly how the man at the bar feared it would, but with a small wrinkle that keeps him in a state of mystery and uncertainty.

MINDS..... Eureka!" Looks around nervously. "Now ..... is it safe to tell someone this idea??"

    I like the way he says "and then we can spread the idea", implying that he cares more about the idea itself being spread than sparing people their lives. If the idea can be handled by only a handful of people, there's no use risking spreading the idea for the sake of getting it to those few people.
    People have compared this to an SCP situation, and it does sound like a sort of memetic infohazard, which will absolutely work if this guy continues to search for people immune to the idea. Almost like it's controlling him.
