This CD was recently (Dec 2022) selling new on eBay for $225. I came across an auction with no hope of winning it: amazed that I won a new Time and Tide CD for $23! Love the album. It never “ceases to amaze me.”
In 71 I was 10-11 and we heard of them. But Split Enz started out as one of the 1st 'adventurous, flamboyant art-rock band', first performing in 1971 at the University of Auckland. Extreme visuals.. in 1971..yea.. I remember as a kid LSD was made illegal in the very end of 1968.Early 69? It was everywhere..lol this fit..ha ha
I never knew Split Enz was possible with this much bass! Fukkin' hell! All the more reason to have loved this song and album for 40+ years. There's just so much wut the actual fuck goin' on that I'm just taking it in.
Is Neil playing an epiphone guitar??? I had a guy audition for my band and they are crap!! Ended up with a guy who owned and played several fender tele & stratts guess what?? He was hired!!!
I believe it's a Yamaha SG2000. I wondered myself for a while if it was a Gibson or an Epiphone model. It's a pretty sexy guitar, but rare to find these days.
"New Wave" Excellence!!!😊

I've loved this song since the day I bought the album.

LOVE this version. The synths are super cool sounding in this. Awesome energy.
Nigel Griggs is awesome!
Mal Green, superb drum skills.
Neil was really coming into his own at this time 😍
I think True Colours was as much Neil's album as it was Tim's.
@@shawnuel I agree :)
Amazing. Takes me back to my teens. Love you Tim Finn!
Magic!
Perfect
Never knew Noel played the harmonica.
What instrument is that under the cs80?
Ah yeah what's the matter with you?
Damn - messing up the chorus twice in a row on live TV must've stung.
