Two things I have learned thanks to lawtube and will forever embrace in my life : never talk to the police without a lawyer present (even if you're not a suspect) (thanks to Natalie Lawyer Chick) and anyone who represents themselves in court has a fool for a lawyer (thanks to LTWM).
Things like this is what makes me like judge Simpson so much more. He could have brushed him off or snapped at him etc yet he calmly explained why he made the decisions he’s made. And he’s lookout for him even if he’s not looking out for himself.
I was watching this again, and I'm astounded by how smug and self-satisfied Mr. Phillips appears to be.... to the point where he tries to lecture Judge Simpson on the Constitution. He just rattles off terms and buzz-words with absolutely no understanding of meaning or context. He seems to think that it indicates intelligence, and I can only imagine that this is a method he uses in every facet of his life.
This is one of the biggest problems I see with anyone trying to ‘argue a case’ whether in court or in life. They offer their conclusion (they violated my civil rights or she assaulted me) as a statement of fact. No, the fact would be they denied my right to a speedy trial. That’s an actual verifiable piece of information that a judge can look at and examine further to help them make a conclusion on your civil rights violation. Or she hit me on my arm. Someone, a police officer or judge or whatever, can then ask relevant questions to determine if you were in fact assaulted and a victim of a crime. But a layperson’s (or even an attorney’s) conclusion does nothing to help a judge make a fair ruling.
True; opinion is not fact. So many pro se defendants also think "argument" equals "evidence." Besides not understanding when argument is properly allowed in a proceeding, they further think that all the unverified statements they make on the record now have the weight of evidence...so they just can't understand why the judge doesn't rule in their favor, you know, because of all this "evidence" they've provided.
"Pro Se Madlibs" I still think Cat L something's (Laloob?) idea for "Pro Se Madlibss" would be a great game; It's about 3/4 through the vid, but the chat is not showing up post-stream yet...... I already bought "Exploding Kittens", I'd buy "Pre Se Madlibs."

I do, however, hold a Master of Legal Studies degree from the University of Denver College of Law, so I've also interned with, and continue to assist the attorneys in the office with legal matters. I kind of exist at the intersection of criminal law and social work.
@@nickvarra740 Ahh.. Funny -- When I asked which program, I didn't assume it was law school. I was going to type "Law school? Or other program, eg Social Work?" I'm familiar with the interplay between community legal practice (eg, PD office) and Social Work. It's a valuable and important/helpful union. I believe we're all better off with this interaction happening on a day-to-day basis.
Congratulations on this excellent internship placement. I hope you benefit from it as you contribute to this helpful system.
@@HogTieChamp Well thank you so much, I do appreciate that. It's definitely becoming a growing field as more people recognize the needs and issues of this unique population.
He went home and told his friends he tore them up in court
The poor attorney sitting there giving a nice speech about ‘business consulting’ and he goes and says ‘oh I’m off to a family reunion!’
Her face is like ‘shut up shut up shut up…..’
Love your streams Mike! My whole family (4 of us) all sit and watch y'all together. Thanks for the great entertainment and we look forward to seeing more of your streams in the future!
Thank You
He said "I won't say lie" regarding the prosecutor
Two things I have learned thanks to lawtube and will forever embrace in my life : never talk to the police without a lawyer present (even if you're not a suspect) (thanks to Natalie Lawyer Chick) and anyone who represents themselves in court has a fool for a lawyer (thanks to LTWM).
Thank you, Mike! My jaw dropped when he said he would be consulting, blah blah blah FBI blah blah..... definitely self important.
This level of smug is record breaking
Things like this is what makes me like judge Simpson so much more. He could have brushed him off or snapped at him etc yet he calmly explained why he made the decisions he’s made. And he’s lookout for him even if he’s not looking out for himself.
Damnit.. he just HAD to say the magic words, "Color of Law"
😂
'Excuse me, this is some great law, but brown doesn't work for me. Do you have the same thing in teal?'
I love the little chuckles as the man speaks. He's so confident in the nonsense he is saying. "In regards to such"
I don't he's a sov cit but think he's seen some online court cases and thought he could defend himself. He's too deep and needs representation.
He wants us to believe he's not harassing the prosecutor's office but then he says he was even recording the interactions lol 🤣
Oh sweet Jesus, the judge is going to need a whole lot more Ranch to swallow that word salad.
I'll have a word salad with ranch dressing.
Oh Lord, he's pulling a "Blandino" - going to a lawyer's office where you aren't wanted.
I'm 68. Anyone younger than 50 looks 12!
Also, the defendant has the audacity to think that hair qualifies as a "manbun"? It's a babytop band!!!!
He talking his way into a jail sentence with every word coming out of his mouth!!!
HOW does judge Simpson get through these days?? Haha
But your honor I graduated with piña colada from the Decastro school of delete lawz. I gots law! 🤣🤣🤣
Mr. Philips is a proud graduate of the Glenn Cerio School of Law and a member of the Order of the Coif.
He's not driving he's traveling
"Pro Se Madlibs" I still think Cat L something's (Laloob?) idea for "Pro Se Madlibss" would be a great game; It's about 3/4 through the vid, but the chat is not showing up post-stream yet...... I already bought "Exploding Kittens", I'd buy "Pre Se Madlibs."
😂
That was amazing... thank you for sharing. I hope a friend of his, if he has any, talks some sense into him.
this stuff is too good 👍
Thank You
Attorney Erika Julien looks so much like Alexandra Cabot the DA from Law & Order, played by Stephanie March.
So resembles her in this case, I found myself staring at her!
41:30 yeah I'm sure he did that.
This guys a sociopath. I don't believe a single accusation or word he speaks.
Vicious storms here in TN…praying we don’t lose power-it would SUCK not to be able to binge watch my favorite UA-cam channel!!!!😉😉😉😱😱😱
Right or wrong - this guy can talk circles around any frauditor
Sovcit tendencies, frauditor tendencies and an inflated sense of personal intelligence this guy is the whole package.
Dude you ramble and nobody wants to hear your nonsense. The judge is being too kind and patient.
Woo! Using "begging the question" correctly!!!!! I may cry.
