And it pretty much sealed it for me when the judge asked how is she paying for a phone and food and stuff with no job. My opinion is she is not only doing but also selling. Likely small quantities to keep her own addiction at bay and to keep a small amount of cash coming in. Ive done and seen it a million times.

That looked like a neurodivergent meltdown because her brain was overstimulated. And because of her age and gender, most likely undiagnosed. If she had been able to properly prepare herself mentally, it could have gone better.

I'm 37 and I still stuggle greatly with my ADHD quite significantly. I getting these fits of hyperfocus or I fixate on one thing while I'm supposed to be working on two other things and getting those done and then the thing I hyper focus on is completely irrelevant but yet my mind convinces it that it's the most necessary thing to complete at that moment. I also procrastinate on a lot of things because of this and each day I convince myself that I'm going to do it tomorrow and I make excuse after excuse as to why today isn't the day to do it. It's completely illogical. Oh and most people would probably jump to the conclusion and say that I'm lazy, but I'm not lazy at all. I work for FedEx ground where I work Monday through Saturday. I grew up doing construction until about 6 years ago and this is one of The most difficult jobs that I've ever done in my life and my dad was a residential builder so I have done and I am highly skilled in trained in every trade but HVAC and electrical. I'd say masonry work is definitely harder but it's close. So I bust my ass and my normal day-to-day life but when I go home and need to do other things it's just it all falls apart. No Adderall helps slow my mind down but it makes me really sleepy and I don't like taking it and because of this I went like 7 years without taking it even though I'd grown up on it and I'm taking it again and it without question better's my life significantly.

Her engine locked up because she kept driving while it was overheating, in case anyone is wondering. The garage probably just fixed the coolant leak, not the overheated engine. If your car overheats, pull over immediately and have it towed. If you aren't able to tow it, wait for it to cool down and add water or coolant if possible. Drive home a couple kms at a time, parking and allowing it to cool down in between, so it doesn't overheat again.

While the judges regular tactics are commendable, I believe the case of Ms Scott is unique, and beyond the judge's typical experience, and understanding.
The judge is used to outbursts being born out of a sense of entitlement, and an attempt to avoid consequences. Ms Scott's case, I believe, is based out of fear, having recently began the struggle from homelessness, and viewing all her efforts crashing down. Her emotional state does not allow her to comprehend the temporary inconvenience of 48hrs, but instead views it as putting her right back struggling to get off the streets. She doesn't hear "48hrs", all she hears is "jail time".
I feel saddened by the metal state that struggling with homelessness has put her in, and the clues she displays that she believes all her efforts are being taken away from her.
It isn't the judge's fault she isn't trained to recognize, let alone be able to resolve, this. It's just very sad that someone's hardships are just compounded by their inability to comprehend.

    • @glenn787
      @glenn787 2 місяці тому

@@joelgraham6820 Agreed. It's sad so many in the comments are bashing her for not taking 2 days as if 2 days in jail is no big deal. I wish there was an option to give people like her 2 days instead at a mental health/treatment facility. Whether it's drugs, withdrawal or mental health, society needs to stop being so punitive because we have the power to. This is why jails are full - people like her take up space whereas sociopaths and psychopaths know how to game the system and are set free.

THAT is the biggest issue facing society today: it's always someone else's fault. But honestly? My last gf was the same. She signed a contract without reading it then complained that the company was fulfilling their part of the contract.
A buddy's gf and he were going out for dinner and she was running around trying to find her keys and blamed HIM because he asked her if she was ready. "it's your fault I forgot where I put my keys because you asked me if I was ready to go"...huh???
Same thing happened to me, I was dating this young lady, went over to pick her up, she was just finishing getting ready. She came out of her bedroom all dolled up and I say "ready to go"? "yes, just have to find my keys". While I was waiting for her I sat at her breakfast bar. I saw the keys sitting on the counter.
When she said "I have to find my keys" I said "they are..." SHUTTUP I have to find my keys...and goes into her bedroom. "HEY THEY"RE R" SHUSH I'M TRYING TO FIND MY KEYS so she comes out, zooms into the living room looking all over "hey, they're right...." WILL YOU SHUT UP I'M TRYING TO THINK.....she comes into the kitchen moves some jars around and moves one in FRONT of the keys on the kitchen counter. I can still see them from where I'm sitting. She's running all over the place. I finally have enough HEY DUMBASS THEY'RE ON YOUR KITCHEN COUNTER she storms in WHY DIDN'TYOU TELL MEEEEEEEEEEE

I was surprised cus I was told Hon. Kelly liked to make examples of people.

    • @hauntedshadowslegacy2826

Thing is, people who try to contribute wouldn't need a 'helping hand' with food, shelter, clothing, and healthcare if employers actually gave a damn. They don't. Massive corporations pinch pennies on the daily so their upper management can vacation to Cancun on their super yachts. Minimum wage is not livable anymore, let alone for a growing family. That's why people need a 'helping hand'; everyone else is picking up the tab through taxes because the bean-counters have gotten comfortable with abusing entry-level workers.
As for getting shelter, that's a whole other can of worms. The U.S. lets investors trade properties like stocks, even on the international stage. Trading jockeys have ravaged the housing market, as have AirBnB landlord-wannabes. Fixing the housing market would entail taking every house and apartment off the stock market, and that's just step one. This whole country is thoroughly effed.

      3) As for housing: how'd o'bama's socialst "sub prime" program work out for ya?
      4) the number 1 reason housing is expensive is the number of people. More people = lower wages = higher costs. END OF DISCUSSION. If 100 people need that apartment, the value is high. if 1 person needs that apartment, the value is low.

Where I live contractors are offering $20/hr or $40,000 for unskilled labour and can't find anyone to work. BTW: the mean household income for all of Canada is about $55K per year.
The problem in North America is people want to be paid well, yet work less and not put in any effort. They also think they are entitled to live alone, have all the modern conveniences. If 3 people on min wage got a 3 bdrm apartment they could live quite well.
Here in Ontario the government will PAY you to learn a trade like electrician and once you get your ticket you'll be booked solid at $75/hr. When you're learning you'll make $30/hr. But that will take effort.

Does anyone know if Miss Scott served her six months in Butler County Jail for her revoked probation?

I really felt for Darren Patterson when he realized despite already speaking with his client and 95% likely agreeing to admit to violations and just get a 2nd chance, he is forced to try to argue why she DIDN'T violate her probation in an impromptu hearing.
Then he actually tries a decent play by using the manic episode defense for her behavior and she shoots it right down instantly. I think the second he called her as a witness he knew he screwed up. Bless that man's soul. Being a public defender is a thankless job. Plus they get paid like 1/10th your average attorney.
I would argue that Chelsea girl is worse than Annie... both are idiotic though.

That disease is rampant I am afraid and it is only going to get worse until some of these CHILDREN start suffering the consequences of thier poor decisions, as well as being taught to accept responsibility for thier actions. These women all have a common personality trait and that is that NOTHING that happens is THIER fault. They are the ones who are being done wrong as opposed to owning that they are DOING wrong. Just like the girl beating her mother, she said it "I just want to be left alone". Then just to prove the one girl doesnt see herself at fault her comment "Thanks for your harmful attitude". But it is obvious to even a blind deaf and mute man that SHE is the one with the attitude. The best thing for her is to sit in jail. And see if mommy brings you any commissary while u are inside. geesh

I overheard an entire case while I was working and it was insane the shit that she was having to deal with. We had a bit of a talk after court and I just praised her for her patience and diligence maintaining her cool as well as trying to be fair the best way she could amid all the theatrics! No way in hell could I do what she was doing... I would've showered down on the idiots and then probably gotten removed from the bench for losing my cool!

Like others have said, 100% she is addicted, probably to opiates, and is panicking that the withdrawals will hit when she is in jail. At least 24 hours cold turkey withdrawals. And to make it worse, this might also violate probation or something if it is obvious. Which it will be when she is shaking, having the sh!ts, sweating, etc. she is probably going through reactive withdrawals right now.

Sometimes, I think when faced with even a few days of jail, it's overwhelming to someone who is very fragile, trying to get their life in order and just doesn't have good coping mechanisms. She probably views life day to day and cannot project forward. I realize she is not a great risk but there needs to be a starting point for her. She just needs to understand that it is only two days.
