Cheapest part of a classic jet is buying it! Now operating and maintaining it that's whole other thing, with costs aside I hope he enjoys it as it is a pretty cool thing to have and fly. Oh and good video Mark!
@@markthibault8579 Well I don't know the exact numbers for the L29, but it has a engine that is the designed on same basis as the Rolls Royce Nene 10 which is in the Canadian T-bird, I can tell you those numbers, at idle you are looking at the following; Idle: 85 USG an hour Max Continuous: 660 USG an hour Take-off power: 840 USG and hour So you could say they are a bit thirsty!
It is not just the fuel, it is the maintenance. Exotic materials and precision that makes a fuel injector seem quaint - and since you're paying a premium for the parts, have you seen the rate for labor?
Best vid so far!! When folks ask me how much it burns I usually answer "I do know, but I don't care. It gets me where I need to go stress free and faster then a car".
That was some killer flight footage. Specially over the lake. When he came off of the lake and over the mountain that looked like the dead cow area on the right where the highest Sierra fly in is held every year in October.
He has the Mach Loop and Star Wars Canyon combined in one flight! Great videography.....even sitting on the ground, I had a few butt clenching moments watching that!!
I hear you can find civilain T-37's now. Love to see that. I have super 8 converted to dvd from the early 60s when my dad was in PFT. If that'd be usesful let me know
Cobber ..! You didn’t get ride ….? I might have one over you ..I have a good buddy who had one for a while and we flew to Jack Ericsson museum for a day ! Now that was a fun day !! In the old blimp hanger !

I enjoyed very much the cockpit POV in this presentation. Nicely done..and I must ask you Mark, are you going to get to go up in the Delphin? With a chase plane perhaps, even for a couple of minutes, or 10, of inflight video? That, would be epic.. just a thot. 😁
We do our best, Chester. We realize we can't appeal to everyone's taste, so we look for something unobtrusive, and in this case, cinematic. Sorry it wasn't to your liking, but we are glad you enjoyed the video.

That was awesome. Great choice of music to accompany the flight too. Well done!

The "entry" jet everyone had before the L-39 became so popular!!
Forget S Carolina, after a flight like that i think id buy the plane and move to where that flight happened...

Beautiful flight. Would be fun!
It was!
An amazing video - well done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice video. Need to be very wealthy to operate one of these!
Yes you do
Found one of these for $60k. Would buy it in a heartbeat if I had my commercial pilots license and was making good money.
Apparently the ones with the standard engine are underpowered.
I see he's always wearing his parachute. Hope it's a safe flight.
I think you need to find out who's -3 Stinson that was and do a video on it.
Absolutely Brilliant Mark.😁
Thanks

that should be fantastic!
What a rush!
Do the red stinson next in the background of the intro, haven't done one of them yet
We don't have access to that Stinson, but will keep our eyes out for one we can video.
I was going to comment on the Stinson! Any idea if that was Canadian reg looks familiar
G,day Mark at Skywagon from Sydney Australia.
The jet doesn't need to start using an APU cart?
🌏🇦🇺
No, It just starts with the push of a button. It does need $40 of Nitrogen every time it flies though.
Nice!
That was BAD ASS!
I like it!
We do too, Ben!
250kts looks awfully slow on camera
