  • Ending credits theme to Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series. This is the most recent piece of Star Wars music I've written, for this 2019 VR release. The concept of the player being force-sensitive was introduced at the end of Episode 1, and so this end credits piece is my own take on a new melody for The Force - somber and reluctant, in contrast to the original films' Force theme.
Uploading this as well as the very first piece of Star Wars music I ever wrote officially (Boba Fett boss theme from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, 2008) in honor of Star Wars Day 2020. MTFBWY!

    wow this feels really good!
this is actually the reason why i like your music so much.. you have in my ears a similar feeling for detail like john williams and that is also the style i would like to write one day.

Melody is somehwat John Williamsish style, but it's rather you in it, than him. Love how you've used modulations in this piece Wilbert. Those chords at 1:17 are very intense and very Star Wars motif. Good one.

Ah thanks so much, Kirill! :D
Good ear re: the modulations! I was inspired by one of my favorite John Williams pieces, Sean's Theme from Minority Report - it also has a sudden modulation halfway through. I think in both cases it's symbolic of a turning point in the characters' lives, showing that they can never go back to how it was before.
(or I could just be overanalyzing as usual :-P )

Heh also, I almost forgot - the trombones melody starting at 1:10 was what I used as a surrogate for the Imperial March theme throughout the score. We weren't allowed to use any of the films' themes so I had to write melodies that gave a similar vibe without sounding like knockoffs

@@RogetMusic and imo you've succeeded quite nicely in doing so. I wouldn't call it imitation, but rather "vibization" 😜
