When I got into minimizing my stuff I had no issues till I got to my art supplies, plants and gardening. Did not minimize plants and gardening stuff a whole lot because it makes me so happy! I’ve been working on my art stuff…for years really. I recently curated my watercolour paint collection by creating a limited palette same with gouache. What didn’t make the cut I will finish but not repurchase! Another great tip is I try my very best not to shop online. Local art shops have less selection witch makes it way easier to avoid temptation! I keep an art wish list and if after at least 30 days I still would like the item I contemplate picking it up. You would be surprised how often I just scratch it off and not getting it.
Exactly! I've felt overwhelmed too. Inkept buting and buying but I realized that too much clutter prevented me from focussing on my art so now i have only purchased really necessary stuff in the last 2 years.
Another minimalist artist here and this is really close to the advice I would give too. I feel like minimalism definitely makes me a better and happier artist and wish there were more vocal minimalist artists out there
I love this video! I love the importance of not buying new stuff, except for upgrades. I have my cotman W&N set and have had it for a few years now and wonder if I ever hit pan. But now that I know that I love watercolor, I'm thinking I might upgrade sometime. I also got an iPad last year, but have not bought any brushes yet because it's so overwhelming how many options there are! What is the biggest difference between cheap and more expensive watercolors in your opinion?
Thank you, Feli! If you're interested, I have a link to the watercolor kit for Procreate in the description box. ✨ In my own experience, comparing the W&N Cotman and Schmincke Watercolors, I find that W&N dried out and cracked a lot, and I went through a couple of the colors quite fast. With my Schmincke Watercolors, they're a lot more buttery, vibrant, and they last longer.
Minimalist artists are hard to come by. Glad I found this video!
I agree! Thank you for watching 😊

Thanks I was looking for this only. Was feeling very overwhelmed by all the hauls and studio tours I watched.
@Reece Apollo ok thanks
