With the DLCs, you get to play the "send a strike team" as an actual mission and not take any damage to your squad. In my experience, you'd really need some maxed out grenade focused Purgators and Purifiers if you want to do "no willpower usage" objectives, as they can each do about 11-12 damage with a single tier 3 frag grenade at a huge AoE. There is an achievement for doing bloom/flowering mission using no willpower, and I accidentally got it when I took a 3 Purgator and 1 Purifier (all running grenades) into that mission.
