@Digital DJ Tips here is what I'm missing the most: 1. "current track played ID, easy broadcast to OBS stream DJs 2. Water/Dust proof improvement's 3. Open source Rekordbox/XDJ options for "add-ons", like PioDj "vst" 4. Official discord for @Pioneer DJ "fans", to collect real info from real people for real innovations 5. Generally lack of innovations: you put a processor in CDJ with lots of power, but not utilizing it fully 6. How about "crash reports" via internet directly to @Pioneer DJ support 7. Stop commenting officially from @Pioneer DJ support on "current track played ID" solution: "put a GoPro above CDJ's LCD screens" 8. Open source the @Pioneer DJ pro-link for 3rd party "add-ons"
      9. If @Pioneer DJ plays the "I'm dominant in the DJ equipment area", will stop the innovation approach
      10. All above will be scrapped by @DJ Mag top100 DJ's, as they are "addicted" to @Pioneer DJ, due clubs/vanues has over stockpile of @Pioneer DJ equipment,
      Sad
      Thanks for reading

On getting them out of the box? We thought exactly that. But having DJed on them for a few days, we realised that they actually make CDJ DJing fun, in a way it wasn't before (for us), because they feel much closer to controller DJing. That's worth a lot.

@@Chuggnuts What is the actual real-world benefit to using Denon? What is the feature you actually use? Or are you just trying to take a political stance against Pioneer's monopoly? • @Chuggnuts
      @Chuggnuts 4 роки тому +6

@@RaquelFoster in general, recently Denon have offered more features, for a better price. It's not just the sc6000 Vs cdj3000 either, it's the same with cheaper products. I can't deny that I strongly dislike pioneers monopoly because I don't think it's healthy for anyone except Pioneer, but the cdj3000 is almost offensively arrogant towards potential customers if you ask me, is there any reason for them to be nearly £1000 more than the competition? I do have to say that it's entirely possible to avoid using cdjs though, it's not true that you HAVE to, although I once did buy a pair of cdjs when 1210's started becoming rarer in booths just because I felt I HAD to and I instantly regretted it (and went down the controller route instead, fortunately cdjs had gone up in price so I didn't lose a penny...) The sc6000 will read and analyse recordbox usb's so that's one benefit of having them in clubs, pioneers ecosystem is not so flexible.

So many people commenting on their dissatisfaction of the cdj3000 and of pioneer in general. People saying it's too little too late etc. What is it that you really need? Are all these functions that you're so upset aren't included really functions that you would use and need? I'm not a massively complex DJ, so maybe I don't need the functionality that is apparently missing here. They look awesome. Yes they are very expensive, but this isn't really aimed at bedroom djs. There are loads of controllers in the range from the ddj 400 through the all in one xdjxz. The Denon fans are so quick to scrap anything pioneer releases, and it's just the same as the age old Mac Vs PC debate. If you like the Denon more, great! If you like pioneer more, great. The truth is that these will be in all decent clubs (or at least the vast majority) and Denon will not be the club standard in the foreseeable future. That is the main reason why I won't be shifting to denon and investing in the whole engine ecosystem any time soon but I will never say never!. Thanks for the in depth review Phil. But what an unfortunate time to release this unit!

Well the reason I bring my Denon set everywhere if clubs or venues won't offer them is mostly the roll/slice stuff which offer a lot more creativity. Also, the mixer offers the filter and effects simultaneously giving you again more creativity. The double layers are interesting too: you sometimes throw in a loop, add an acapella, do some scratching or beat looping/rolling/slicing with the 3rd deck etc. On a Pioneer you'd need at least 3 decks to do that.
But what I miss most is on board analysis. I honestly no longer waste too much time prepping sets. I check Beatport, make a list of the tracks I like, I take the set to the venue. If they have WiFi, fine. If not, I use my cell phone as access point and I just stream the tracks directly from beatbort. I know you"ll say; that's not how the pro's work but I don't care. I do of course have a big disk with a lot of new and old tracks as well which are sorted/ordered etc. But still, the WiFi streaming saved me weeks of prepping time. Once you have it you can't miss it anymore. The only reason Pioneer has the market is because DJ's are bloody lazy

i'm completely with you here. these are really good within the realistic amount of change a market leader can make with their flaship product. you simply can't tear up the rulebook if you have 90% of the market, due to the potential risk of alienating your core audience.
great additions - key sync!!!!, the processor, 8 hot cues!!! (not 100% sold on the positioning, but i can see the argument for taking them away from the palm rest area), and of course the screen. also, shifting a lot of useful functionality to hardware buttons is also a massive plus
i also agree that some of the stuff that's 'missing' seems certain to be introduced at some point through updates, so i won't be getting too worried about that.
i do hate these tedious dennoners vs pioneers arguments, but i know why we have them. both are really great devices, incorporating many of the great things controllers have brought us in recent years. the important thing from this launch is that if i owned a club and needed to update, i'd feel in safe territory to stay within pioneer's infrastructure. it may feel lame to some, but pioneer appear to have done 'enough' with the 3000's. probably more than enough really. if it was a completely level playing field with all clubs starting from scratch, maybe dennon has the slightly better offer, but that's not the reality.

Imho that '"you cannot completely change it too much if you are the leader" is as bogus as they come. Sorry if this sounds too harsh. Don't know how to say it otherwise. Pioneer started too late with this and had to release something. THey just underdeveloped it and felt, pff, we own the market anyway so screw them. There is no excuse for not having dual layers; That won't change your workflow. There is no excuse for not having WiFi. Won't change your work flow. Imo these cue buttons under the screen are sooooo wrong: you can accidentally touch the platter and stop your music when it's in vinyl mode. They just put them there because people would otherwise say: ha you see? They copied Denon. I mean, the buttons are even exactly the same... It's a nice upgrade for sure but given what it brings and what the Denon costs the CDJ should not be 1 cent more than 750USD.

They'll reign supreme as long as that remains the case & as long as they're on tech riders. This video makes it’s abundantly clear that Pioneer has missed the mark drastically. Their first major update to the CDJ since 2011 and this is the best they could come up with ??
Weak! The “touch screen” not being compatible with screen gestures or multi-touch is utterly pathetic. These actions are now standard for nearly every touch sensitive display being used today. For anyone who uses the “hot cue” pads, their location on the CDJ doesn’t make a lick of sense. If you’re working those pads you surely don’t want to be reaching across the sensitive platter, tempo slider, and play/cue buttons time after time. The icing on the cake? The sickening price tag on this already outdated platter. Denon is legit years ahead of pioneer. Not impressed, and disappointed.

Okay! lets talk truth ladies & gentleman: Im not a Pioneer Fanboy neither an Denon Fanboy. Im a Fan of great products! So the main reason why the new CDJ look as they look and is what it is and the Denon SC6000 is what it is is that: Pioneer is now run by a group of "profit only" investors and they have a clear message: "minimal risk, maximum margin" - put in the cheapest stable working parts you can find on the market to do do the most minimal upgrade that users might accept possible and sell it to the maximum price possible - thats the new core of pioneer brand and the strategy. a group of investors that try to squeeze out the brand like a lemon and sell it before its totally done. Inmusic is driven by an absolute musical enthusiast who aims to simply deliver the greatest most innovative product possible at a fair price! - margin is important - but its not that "max margin" is the main priority. the priority is the happy client! and to bound clients in long term to the insmusic world. And that is exactly why we see what we see here: old tech at an pricepoint which is basically a fraud. and what me really really really makes sad is that Digital DJ Tips is not honest enough to name the facts and try to jump right on the marketing train of pioneer with that "made for festival DJs, clubs and installations" - yes of course! This is what pioneer wants!!!! but who decides which player will stand in a club or in a installation or at a festival: The User!!!! Not Pioneer!!! and to say they aim different markets ist just pure lie!!!!! they both aim exactly the same market with their product portofolio and that is the full range from beginners to Pros and top level DJs! By saying that the CDJ3000 "should" be The festival player its just a bad try to reasoning this absolutely moonprice for old tech! Its the bussines mentality of pioneer nowadays that makes this a bad player for the price and not what the company could do if they wanted and would get the budget they once got when they have been an innovative and groundbreaking company. who says Denon is not for Clubs, Installations or Festivals? They simply have the better gear! And you can even put Rekordbox Sticks into it and play right out of the box! But ofc also Denon has weaknesses - as Engine DJ ist right now just not there where it should be. But if we see the evolution Speed of Denon in the last 2 years - man, that wont last for long. Just be honest and name it as it is: this product at THIS price is a fraud and everybody who buys one of these is supporting the cheating of that investor driven company. Pioneer has lost its soul and passion as a brand. really everywhere i hear this mantra with "pioneer says this is for clubs and festivals blablabla and thats why it has this pricetag".... wow man really? and all this reviewers just take this explanation as given? and even go further take away Denons Approach of that part of the market by saying pioneer aims it and Denon not? Sorry thats not fair and not objective. Also the Apple comparison doesnt work. As the Apple Strategy always was and is: deliver the best product on the market with the newest tech and THEN add an crazy amount of money just to show you are apple and underline you are the premium. But here its totally different: here its like Apple would release a phone with 50% less power and 50% less functions then a Xiaomi Mid Level Phone but still say: Hey we are Pioneer and this is the best phone in the world and as we are just luxury product we charge this money. or If Mercedes would produce a Kia in Mercedes Shape and sell it as an S-Class. If Apple would deliver products which are by performance just 50% of what Samsung would do - Apple would loose its marketing position within some years. And man im really happy that most people are not that stupid - as whatever any YT Video or a marketing campaign will say - most people are not stupid and thats why - i tell you today remember my words: pioneer will go down and loose the Number 1 Spot within the next 5 years. Selling tricks just work short term. But people learn and see themselve in long term where is the better product when the marketing effect is gone. The Pioneer players would have been nice players as they are now if they would have been released 3-4 years ago. But now its just outdated tech sold in a fraud to fool people. My honest oppinion is just that this price goes a big step too far what would be fair to say just "well its cause its pioneer and thats why its the best and thats why it´s worth it" I want to thank pioneer and the old owners for great 20 years of DJ Culture and Innovations same as 1980-2010 was technics legends time which also now slowly went down within the last 10 years cause of lack of innovation and development of the brand and products - pioneer was THE brand to go 2000-2020 and brought DJing to a whole new level. But as we all know: In the moment you stop to getting better you stop to be good. And that´s why Pioneer DJs No.1 Market Position sooner then later will be history. remember my words! 5 years maximum and its done. And no Fanboy or Marketingphrase nor one sided UA-cam Videos like this one repeating this marketing phrases can change evolution or manipulate the majority of the users in long therm. I think the onyl Chance for Pioneer is a new owner with a different approach: Where the user is number one again and profit just the second priority. If not Pioneer will end as Nokia 2.0 Thanks folks for reading! Im out!

What worries me more is the lack of honest Journalism. Denon have worked tirelessly to push DJ technology forward at affordable prices and really deliver products that give DJ's options when mixing and delivering creative approaches to the artform.Yes the software is young, but it has matured amazingly in the last 12 months, and is really working well now. No one is denying Pioneer have CDJ2000's in a mass majority of DJ Booths, but we all know that this is due to A)Feeding them to clubs and DJ's B) Having virtually Zero competition for years C) Forcing their retail channel to support them only with the fear of losing the dealership if not (yes this is true)... and probably a bit of this to the media partners as well. .. Come on... I watch all of this and its cringeworthy, when will you finally give Denon some credit, all i keep hearing is "its for the DJ box / Clubs / touring etc"... and the SC6000 is not ?, really..... It deserves to be in the DJ Box alongside Pioneer, and will be given time...

Clearly Pioneer is honoring the old school OG's who leanred on vinyl and find comfort in the replication of a classic MKII. To snark it off as not relevant would be a sad day in the digital market.

I think I already commented under this video but now watching again reviews as debating between cdj-3000 or nx2 , the price is only couple hundred euros difference when compare new and used nx2 still hold their value very well on ebay. What is mean is that money invested in this gear even after 5 years will hold value and other brands after such period will loose at least 50% of value and no one don't want to buy them. Another thing I see many people complain there is no wifi and can't play Beatport Link or other services, Pioneer promote CDJ-3000 as producing best sound quality on the market and how it will work when streaming services on Beatport provide only 128kbps and 256 kbps quality stream so it makes complete no sense to stream on CDJ-3000. Just for comparison WAV or AIFF file quality is 1,411 kbps at 16 bit. When you can stream in such quality or even close to that I am pretty sure it will have built in wifi and maybe even sim card slot :) And the last time I try Beatport link I wasn't able to record my mix on rekordbox because of terms and conditions, you have to use third party app to record low quality mix :)

They will most likely not used glass for the LCD because of sunlight reflections when used outdoor. A phone you can move, a player you hardly can.
The key shift quality depends very much on the track, there a certain kicks that just sound awful with key morphing.
A always found the sound quality of CDJs medium at best (CDJ-2000) or mediocre for the earlier ones compared to a good soundcard. I heard medium quality controllers that sounded better than CDJs, so, thank you pioneer for fixing your stuff. Which is kinda moot right now with no touring, open clubs or bars and most djs polishing up on their streaming mix sets. The lack of certain features such as streaming music service playback, WiFi connectivity, dual layer, motorized platter and then putting the hot cues further away from the front section, all look like strange design choices, given their biggest competitors features. It appears Pioneer marketing chose to brand this as a CDJ to appeal to the premium market, when in all honesty, it’s an XDJ. Having seen the CDJ Tour units flop, I had hopes this would be a true innovative flagship, but feel underwhelmed by all the reviews watched today.
