I went on a rd trip to Canada back in 2003 and we camped at a campground wayyy up above the ocean somewhere up north. It looked just like this there, with the logged area. Was there a campground near here?

No, this area is near the small town of Wolf Creek, outside of Eugene. It looks like this all over the state.
