Lotus Elan M100 Renovation Epsiode 5

With the engine now running, the race is on to finish the Elan and get it to the MOT centre to see how roadworthy it is. As I'm now buttoning everything up, there are no more susprises - just graft. One thing that never appeared on Twitter, simply because there was not time to document it, was the last-minute panic to get the horn working and the drama of one of the headlamp bulb retention clips breaking letting the bulb fall out of the headlamps itself. I did, however, strap some GoPros to the car to record its first drive to the MOT centre but I never got around to downloading the videos until now. My first impressions of the car and now included in this video, although the audio isn't amazing. This film ends as the MOT test results came in. Has sven weeks of hard work paid off?

Thanks Brett, that's kind of you. I was so emersed in it at thte time I didn't really absorb much of it. It's weird reliving it all again - I'd blanked out so much of the bad stuff. Ha!

Ours failed on emissions also. Going to use Elanscan on it when I get the interface lead. See if any of the sensors are U/S. Also thinking about getting the injectors cleaned and tested. I have brake issues I’m working though also

That gasket : couldn't that be 3D-printed with innoflex filament ?

Hi Jos - you mean the indicator gasket? I'm sure it could but I don't know anyone with a printer that could do that for me. In any case, I do find a solution down the line. Stay tuned :D
