My Mom was the Bond reader in our family during the 1960's and wound up passing them and the joy of Bond down to her three sons. Even at the age of 93 now she still loves the Bond books and the early movies and relates how when she worked at a boring job as a secretary back in the day she often had days at the office with nothing to do so she would just sit at her desk and read the latest Bond novel. And get paid for it no less! 😍
That's a great story about your mum! My dad was a big fan of these as they were being published and I was all over them as a teenager 🙂 they still hold up really well today. Glad you got the hand me downs 👍

Say, Jules, as if you don’t have enough on your filming plate at the moment, how about some cover ranking videos once in awhile? For instance, I would love to see your Top 10 favorite Bond paperback covers. We all know you CAN judge a book by its cover! 😉
Credits for Marvel's "For Your Eyes Only" -- script by Larry Hama, pencils by Howard Chaykin, and inks by Vince Colletta. The paperback's cover appears to be Chaykin's painting, done for the Marvel Super Special magazine (#19, 1981). My understanding is that Marvel recouped hefty licensing fees by releasing the same material in 3 formats: magazine, comic books, and mass-market paperback -- as you indicated. I took the credits from the Grand Comics Database.
Some very beautiful books here indeed! I’m on a bit of a mini mission to complete a whole variety of Bond paperback editions, not too fussed for first editions in each, just complete sets. I just watched the Liquidator, a 1965 spy spoof movie starring Rod Taylor. Its title song is sung by Shirley Bassey !

I think you'll find the Amazon copies just use a stock image. Check eBay for actual sales information.
