Hey bro, this is one of the best tutorials i've ever seen. You took your time to explain everything. Ive been using blender for about a week now and this has helped me understand how bones are applied, and poses made very easily. Wishing you success!
Dale, thanks. This is by far the best video ive seen for rigging a character. I don't think I saw anywhere in which you state "but first you must" or at least not unnecessarily. Explaining things in linear form is the best way for some of us lol. Blessings bro.
Thank you, my guy. Videos like this are just the best of UA-cam. Incredibly thankful that people make these free tutorials. And this was amazing! Thank you!
I tried following this without audio and managed to link my arms and legs together. Following with audio was much more helpful haha I managed to fully rig my first 3d project (a purple grung (a dnd race) called Argh Stickyfeet) within 10 minutes. Thank you ♡
Bro, I"m trying to learn rigging and I had this exact issue of these artefacs. you went straight to the point unlike other video's. That a like and a follow big man.
ye i agree with the others... by far the best rigging tutorial :) ty for actually saying "how" to do stuff unlike others who just say "what" they're doing...
thank god someone that explains things for real. i would never learn that it was called "skinning", i mean, in this case its not necessary but i suppose u have other videos with the processes names that could really help me in my learning. thanks a lot for the great tutorial!!!
I've been trying to mess around with rigging/armatures for a while now (kind of lazily, to be honest), but this video was so perfectly straightforward. Awesome video man, SUPER helpful!
Omg thank you so much for this...been having so many issues rigging characters all this time and had zero clue on using weight paint mode for better control over effected areas....
Hi, I've just followed your instruct for this and it worked!!! I've been trying and pulling my hair out with this for a while so it's a start with me to master rigging and animation. Thanks V much.
Awesome!!! glad to help. When you get those basics down you may want to watch my other video on RIgify, it will speed up your workflow and help you understand controllers, and more ua-cam.com/video/S52A-K5tLDc/v-deo.html
I’m new to blender as well as making my own game, I haven’t tried this out yet but it was very simple and straightforward to understand. I’m excited to apply this to the characters I make :)
Hey same here, how did it go? For me it started to have some problems with posing. :/ For example, if I want to rotate the body, half of the mesh stays where it was, it's like some weird stretching. Edit: I solved the problem, for now.
@@Animesther hey sorry I haven't tried this tutorial yet since I'm focusing on making assets for the game. But how did you solve this? just in case the same happens to me.
thanks, i found that having the hip bones is really really important, for some reason most other tutorial makers just do the spine and then leave a huge gap between spine and leg bones with no hip bones, idk why, thanks thanks
I am going to do away with all the auto rig add on. There is always something wrong with them when I bring the rigged model to Blender. You made it very easy to understand. You were as straightforward, concise and as easy to follow. Thank you
I am so thankful I found your tutorials! You are very good at explaining and demonstrating what you are doing. As someone who has 0 Blender skills I found this to be very helpful and useful!
Man, this was a pretty simple tutorial, that pretty neat. thanks for this man, this helps me out a lot. I took a lot of notes. now I have some basic knowledge on Rigging. Keep up the good work.
thx for the tut. I got my man rigged and bones named but bones are sticking out of him unless I disable bones in side panel from showing. I guess that's how you render is just disable the armature at render time. Now I just need to figure out how to animate the poses! thx
Ill be real with you boss, this vid is so good and straight to the point ,Thank you. This helps me alot rather than relying on addons or websites that do medicore rigging i can just do it myself now.
i didn't know order of selection actually mattered, the last tutorial i had checked simply said to select both the model and the rig, hopefully this fixes my issue thanks so much.
Making my own game. Made a rabbit today. I am going to use this to rig my rabbit, I will check back in when done. Edit: My rabbit has bones and the model properly moves. Awesome. Tutorial works great.
10:14 If you are using Blender 4.0, there have been some changes. Now, you need to press the Ctrl + Shift combination to select a bone
everything went correct but after the skinning part the character is not moving with the bones
Straight to the point . Thank you for saving our time and sacrificing yours to help us.

New to blender here, ive decided to practice on movement this month and this tutorial helped out alot thanks for the time to make this.
I was struggling for an entire night with other tutorials then this worked straight away, thanks man.
I'm officially a fan. You're not just a great technician. You're a great TEACHER. Liked and subbed. You've got a new student. This was AWESOME!!!
I'm still pretty new to this Blender stuff, but with a fair amount of pausing and rewinding, I now have a basic model with rigging. Thank you so much!
One of the best tutorials ever. I've been struggling to link my armature to mesh and this solved it instantly. Thank you
ye i agree with the others... by far the best rigging tutorial :) ty for actually saying "how" to do stuff unlike others who just say "what" they're doing...

I'm a 2d artist but really needed a 3d model that i could pose for photoshop layers, this has helped so much. Thanks!
The way you explained made me think I could be a pro but I’ll give this all a try tomorrow 🙏🏾
Thank you, SO MUCH!!!! I have been trying for ages to rig models! Your tutorial was the only one clear enough to get through my thick skull!!!
Glad I could help!
TYSM!! Ive been looking everywhere for this and this is the only accurate tutorial I’ve seen so far, great job :)
Omg thank you so much for this...been having so many issues rigging characters all this time and had zero clue on using weight paint mode for better control over effected areas....

Fantastic job - being thorough AND concise is a gift!
thanks
Thank you! Must have tried a dozen different tutorials and this is the first one that actually worked!
I like your tone of voice and how calm you are and that you didn't pause too much or use um's and ah's.
my guy I've been at this for two hours watching blender's own video yours explains it so much clearer. #notallheroswearcapes
I appreciate that!
I haven't tried this yet, but thiss is by far the best rigging video I've seen.
Ive had to watch this tutorial specifically every time I pick back up Blender thanks for your help
thank you so much for this tutorial!! ive been trying to rig a model for a few months and this is the only video that worked
Excellent tutorial, especially the way you always explain your keystrokes as you're doing it!
i had your video paused and came to a realization, its actually pretty straight forward and then i crushed a mosquitoe
