Great example to show people how easily they can make a repair like this, especially on something thats painted. Thanks for showing this. You look like a movie star.
Just bought some of this stuff for the corner of the baseboards of my apartment thanks to my two adorable destructive puppies lol...thanks!!! Security deposit here i come!!!!
thanks for such a simple video! right to the point and detailed enough to replicate. I found other videos taking 10+ minutes to say the same things... lol
Just reiterating how thankful we are for a short vid! Don’t need the whole story of how it happened, don’t need a video of you opening the product or where you can buy it (cause google) honestly this comment in itself is too long 😅
Thank u so much!! I just got this plastic wood & wasn't sure if I got the right stuff.. my pet rats decided to redecorate the baseboards in my place 😮😜 I hope I can fix them as well as u did! U aced it👍💙💙🥰!!
@@gerardoavalos8465 I love labs! We have an Olde English Bulldogge and he did a number on everything from baseboards to stairs. This fixed *most* of it!
3 cats here 😅 I live in an apartment and one cat has clawed a wall and some door frames. Worried when it comes time to move out. Seems easy to fix...thank you.
Hello! I liked this video it is very helpful. I just adopted an 11 months old border collie, and he just loves to shew on every piece of furniture in my house. I was wondering if you could give me any tips on how to fix a shutter door lift top coffee table. The top of the table is like fiber, and the rest is wood. Your help is very much appreciated!
Hello, just bought french dressing table and my lovely self stood on the mirror at the wood could this be repaired 😭😭😭 I bought white wood filler will this work?? Help!!!
I just watched someone else's video and font get me wrong..it was sooo good..however I don't have an electric sander etc. This really helped me to really just diy at home...by myself..love it...thanks..my shirainian decided to nibble all my wooden chair feet...sigh
Does it have to sit for 3 days ? I’m trying to fix my bottom door due to my cats scratching at it buh I don’t have that kind of time to fix it. With that brand does it say to leave it sit for 3 days
The more you need to use, the longer it will need to sit. If they are not deep scratches it will probably dry in 24-48 hours! Pretty sure this was only about 48 hours and they were deep.
My dog chewed up my outside door frame really badly.. and this is a rental.. I'm hoping to God this video can help me with this problem 😢 I'll update once I do
Hope you can help me.. I need to fix my entrance door, my sharpei left its autograph all over it.. its cherry wood with varnish.. so this kind of paste doesnt work for me, because I wont be able to paint it. do you have a suggestion? Thanks!!!
Ah, stain doesn’t take to wood filler very well. Is it possible to replace the piece of wood and re-stain it? Matching stains can be hard, too, if not prepared to re-stain the whole thing which may be easier. I saw a wood filler recently that can be stained, though. I will look into it
I really wasnt impressed with this product - As soon as I laid it in and tried to add more, the spatula would pull it right out of the hole again. The hole just wouldn't grip it and keep it in. Gonna add a tiny bit of water and see if it will be more plaster-like.
What I didn't cover in the video is that you really have to pack it in to whatever you're filling. If it gets pulled out, let that first pass of fill dry and then add more later.
I might not have packed it tight enough - It really was a pain to work work. I used to build model rockets and used wood putty with a tiny bit of water to create a thick paste that smoothed it out - I didn't know if using water would be counter-intuitive to add to a wood repair that was caused by water.

It should do the trick as long as it’s sanded nicely! Good luck.
Thank you so much

Thanks for the kind words. I've learned the simpler, the better!
I have a drawer from ikea ( not real wood ) can I still use what you have in video ? ) the corner of drawer is bit off.
You can probably get away with it but matching paint or stains may be tricky.

can you spray paint the plastic wood with the color you need? i just used plastic wood and I have black matte spray paint
That should be fine!
@@TheDIYrealtor Thank you. It looks pretty good so far, but I'm still working on it.
Awesome thanks

pretty good thanks
No problem!

That is more of a matching stain problem. You can buy cherry stain at Home Depot but it’s just not likely to match perfectly :/
What additional steps or info would I need if this was on wood that was stained and not painted?
Ah, stain doesn’t take to wood filler very well. Is it possible to replace the piece of wood and re-stain it? Matching stains can be hard, too, if not prepared to re-stain the whole thing which may be easier.

What strength of sandpaper did you use?
Frankly, I'm not sure! it was a medium grit I believe but the finer the better once you're almost done to get it as smooth as possible.
Don't let the dog chew up the filler; or you'll have a way bigger problema.
Lol, great point.
What paint did you use?
Behr Ultra White

Any one use this outdoors,
As long as it’s protected with some paint it should be fine!
