    As a carp angler who uses bivvy regularly your first set up without the tensioning strap done really triggered me so so glad u sussed it 🤣🤣🤣

    The long strap goes side to side pulls the bivy in to the shape its really quite simple to put up

    Guys, you may have worked it out by now, But. When you 1st take the bivvi out of its bag leave it flat on the floor and open up the poles and put them together while still flat on the floor, Then, with the strap that was wrapped around it when packed, that stretches across the front and attaches to a clip on the other side, bringing the bivvi to the correct width. Then put two pegs in, one each end of the front and only then raise the whole bivvi like a pram hood, put on and tension the front roof pole then the next one and finally the back one, go around pegging the rest down and all should fall into shape and you will find that the groundsheet now fits too. Great bivvi, been using mine year round for a couple of years now and it is as good as any I have seen at 4 x the price.

      I don't know of any changes or improvements, but I have definitely had mine a few years, had the one man before it. If there is one thing that would improve it, it would be to somehow allow the peak to be used with the overwrap.

    I use one of these for my carp fishing ,
    PRos
    as bivvys go its quite light but big ,loads of room ,I also have the overwrap and groundsheet ,done 7 days in the rain and stayed dry and warm
    Give it a coat of fabsil and your sorted for the year
    CONs
    The peak needs 2 more support bars as one isnt strong enough to keep it in place ,infact it acts like a sail in strong wind .
    The mozzy net material isnt the best and tends to split in places .
    A heavy duty ground sheet option would be a bonus
    ,but all in all a decent bivvy if you look after it

    • @wheretogoto
      @wheretogoto  3 роки тому

      I think the peak needs to be tied down in a direction away from the wind. That thing is not secured.

    The bit you said about wrapping it up with it should have a clip on the opposite side that you can clip in on once it’s all together which makes the bivvy taller and brings it in that’s why the groundsheet Doesn’t fit 👍

    Just orded my 2 man particle bivvy and waiting for it to arrive and cant wait to use it for an all night fishing and camping trip at my local foreshore, fishing night tide and next morning tide, iam a bit concerned about the way the floor is attatched, could extra velcro be added to give the floor a bit more support to the sides.

      Well done. We have tailored our one to suit the single beaches by sewing onto the base flaps large pieces of an 45 inches fishing brolly. It makes it impossible to blow away in normal conditions. In fine weather will work well with existing flaps weighed with shingle.

      When I set it up I can’t get the pegs in properly if I peg the front first the back is raised and if I peg the back first the front is raised any idea on a good method of setting it up

    • @dale7933
      @dale7933 Рік тому +1

      @Ben Wilkie yeah I had that problem so now I peg one side in where all the poles meet then do the front and back,then push the other side in where all the poles meet til it's tight then peg it,usually works for me 👍
      However sometimes this means one side of the groundsheet may not fit properly,uneven ground on pegs can cause this to happen ie,the pront of the bivvy is lower than the back.

      @@dale7933 do you put the storm poles or whatever they are called on first before you put any pegs in

    • @dale7933
      @dale7933 Рік тому +1

      @Ben Wilkie yes mate,then just position the bivvy once it's up,and peg one side,then peg the 2 at each side of the entrance and the 2 exactly opposite at the back,then push the other side in til the bivvy tightens up and peg that last side and put test of pegs in,i find if you put the tension strap on across the floor it can make the bivvy a little too tall depending in the ground my advise is leave it off and try this way👍

    Crazy that these things don't come with instructions, or any corporate video online. Lots of people are new to bivvies, and it's a lot of money to spend on something you could probably easily break. A friend of mine who has lots of experience, helped me put mine up, and the process was very different to this..

      I'm no expert, but a bivvy seems to be far sturdier and you don't need guy lines. My bivvy is rock solid once up properly. Bivvy usually have a separate ground sheet, In good weather summer months no ground sheet needed. You can have the whole front of the bivvy open too if you want. It's a brilliant bit of kit for over night fishing.
