Great video! I live in lower Michigan and recently started foraging and your videos really help us newbie’s due to the fact that we can see the same mushrooms you two are. You give good descriptions and and other info worth knowing. Glad I found your channel and hope to bump into you sometime while out foraging! Keep up the good work!
I just moved to Michigan and found almost all of these mushrooms for the first time too. I made jerky out of the beefsteak and its wonderful!! I'll have to try frying it next time. Great video, TY.
I actually watch you and Dawn on my RCA Roku smart TV. But it's not smart enough to let me read or add comments lol 😆. But I can see you guys so much better on TV instead of my cellphone. Your videos are always so informative! Thank you, I always learn something new.
We are getting out more now that we moved to a more rural area with easy access to woods. Thanks they would love that, their names are Sophia, Lila, and Remy. Remy is the one who calls you the Mushroom Man
Love the Teeshirt! Not only do I believe, I’ve seen them. I know! Please check out my field work and body of evidence gotten here in Michigan. Volumes of audio mined from the depths of our woodlands and watersheds… Aw-Teeka-Peeka-Hut!
I've heard "false morels" referred to a lot as beef steak. But I believe Fistulina hepatica is the true beef steak. Do they only grow on black oak in Michigan? I've never found one and it's going on my "hope I can find someday" mushroom bucket list!
In Northern Michigan I've found them on white oak . Trees can be still living . I find them on red, black and white oak so far . I hope you find one . It's a great tasting mushroom as well .

My daughters and I really enjoy your videos. Especially my 7 year old who calls you the Mushroom Man. Thanks
That made my day.
Hope you guys are getting out.
If they like I will give them a thank you by name on my next video.

Hope you are all well Dave. I wanted to let you know we uploaded a new video and gave you guys a Hello.
The video is the U.P. shrooming title.
You found the violet chanterelle! I'm hoping to find that one of these years, haven't yet but you give hope.
They are spectacular
I think those are the fox mushroom. Or false chanterelle.
Very tasty.
