As always you’re probably one of the nicest professionals out there today and so awesome for sharing your knowledge with all of us. Thank you so much!
I needed this video years ago. Great trips.
Great video as always Edwin, thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience!!!
nice choice of rods and reels, it's a time saver to have each one ready to go.
Edwin, thanks once again for taking the time to make a video to help those who are just getting into bass fishing to those who have been fishing all their lives. In my case it is 65 years of fishing. There is always something I can learn from your videos. Have you been able to srart on your lake yet? I was able to meet your son at Redcrest but unfortunately for me you were fishing at the time. What a nice young man. I was very impressed by him.🎣🐟
Your my favorite fisher ever love you and keep up the good work!!!
Really good advice on rods. I think I have one of each of your recommendations in my boat right now.
Great vid!!! Keep em coming!
Thanks again, great info. Helps a bunch knowing what rods to use for different baits. Love it, God bless.
Always great info
Awesome video! I agree with the JM Platinum rods...both the baitcast and spinning rods. I have the exact rods and reels you showed. Absolutely love them. They are so light weight and yet very durable. Got mine when they were on sale and used a rod trade-in and reel trade-in during a Spring Sale to make them cheaper. Glad I did!!
Great video on budget rods. Keep info like this coming. Thanks.
That is some real great info, I have always been one to make what I have work with what ever kind of bait but now I may look at changing my rods n reals more to certain baits, slowly not all at once but I do understand your point and you talk about it a lot in all break downs, again great advice thank you
Definitely on a budget thank you very helpful as always great videos
Great information thank you, will look into getting one of these rods. Much appreciated
Always enjoy your videos, Edwin. Keep it up. God bless.
Wow that is awesome info thank you so much helps out a lot
Awesome information! Keep up the great job!
Evers! Again your crushing it and hit the mail right on the head for An intermediate bass fisherman like myself who’s looking to expand his quiver great job and thank you for your expertise my man God bless.
We love your videos and information on bass fishing awesome 👏
Great video! There should be more content out there for the folks that can’t afford to have a specific dedicated rod for 40 different technics. Love your content, love your channel.
This is a great video. You have just shown me how manage my rods and interchanging my reels with each one depending on my technique.
I would love for you to do a video on the reels and line size you interchange by technique and the length of leader you use on whatever line/size you use to fill your reels with. Currently I am using braid as backing for all my rods and varying my leader type and length and lb. test as needed for techniques.
ie. 8 to 10lb leader on 20lb braid on my med action spinning rod.
Great tips!
Thank you!!!
Love your expertise
This is the video I've been waiting so long for!! Edwin can you do another video on the lines you recommend using for each rod that you can use for multiple baits?
Thank you, perfect timing seeing what's happening in this world.
Great video thanks for your tips and good fishing
Been watching your videos and own every one of those rods!!
Great video thanks E
Great line up. I also need that shirt!
Great content thank you sir
Fantastic information great video 📹 👍
Great video. I couldn’t agree more. As a bank angler my top three rods are medium power/ moderate action, medium heavy / moderate fast, and then medium heavy / fast action. It’s how I got my start and really all you need from the bank. I branched out and bought two more technique specific rods, a heavy frog rod and then a rod just for jerkbaits because I was looking for a specific feel.
very helpful,thanks
Great video! Trying to make the wrong rod work can cost a lot more money the just buying the right set up.
I really needed this video, being only 16 i dont have a whole lot of money coming in. I want to expand my "arsenal" but just dont have the momwy this should help so much. Thanks! All i nees now is a video about reels to pair with those.
Do more research before you buy one of those rods. I clicked on this video before I realized it was just a bass pro/Johnny Morris ad. These rods ain’t terrible but there’s better options for the price. I had the white one a year or two ago and broke it boat flipping a smallmouth that was barely 3lbs. Customer service was terrible and couldn’t get them to replace it even tho it was less than a year old. Needless to say I’ll never buy another one and will not advise anyone to do so either
@@scooter8320 Agreed. There are several rods in the $80-100 range now that are pretty good sticks. St Croix, Dobyns, Ark, Shimano, Daiwa, ect all have solid budget options. Snag something like that in a 7' MH variety and slap a Tatula or SLX in a 6 or 7:1 and you've got a pretty nice "do all" setup for $200, maybe less, that'll last several years. Shoot, I still have a $80 Abu Vendetta in my lineup that I bought in college in '09 lol. ETA - Not slamming BPS rods in any way, I'm happy with my Crankin Stick, but there are a ton of choices now and several better options out there for the money.
@@reelncfishing919 Exactly what I was thinking
Thanks for the helpful tips with people that can't purchase expensive gear.
My most universal rod is a 7'1" MH spinning ..just about anything i use it. Med to small crank bait. Med to small worm, even a 10 zoom ol monster. Med to small craw. But strating to use a bait caster a little more. This was due to my back problem. Spinning was easier to cast.. But great video.. Thanks
Great video buddy! All ways learn something from your videos
Edwin, as always, Great Advice. I've been bass fishing for 40+ years, your videos are proof, 'you can teach an old dog new tricks'. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge
Awesome video I just ordered a shirt
Great info as always. Seen mlf was on Palestine this last week. Watched some of it on my app. Well I guess I know now why u wouldn’t break down Palestine, cause u had an idea u would be here. Lol wished u could have made to the top ten. But ole Ott came shining in to win. Ty again for all your help.
Great video, I always tune to your channel for advice. One Question....how do you dispose of used fishing line? I'm constantly finding line on the bank, in the water and in my trolling motor prop hub. I've found an empty water bottle, plastic drink bottle works great. twist it up and shove it in and cap the bottle. recycle the line with the bottle, or trash (at least its not in the water or on the ground). I'm curious how you and the other pros dispose of line (shorts after retying, stripped line and line changes). Thanks for all you do for us weekend warriors!
Know you were watching Ott me too. Should 've had this one before the spring classic was over I'll have to wait till next year Just kidding I need some new rods most of mine are old like me.😀
Great video!! My question is where can your followers buy the project E shirts like your wearing
BPS cranking stick is a great rod! Got mine on sale for $69! Should have bought several of them.🤷🏻♂️
in place of those first 2 rods I have 2 BPS bionic blade rods, both are 7' , 1 medium heavy, 1 heavy power, both are paired with BPS pro qualifier 2 reels. both combos are under $200, and I LOVE both those rods. BTW they are both so old they are micro guide rods...
Awesome video. Are this floats on the rod butt?
Great video, but it was way more rod oriented. Would love to see one more reel oriented. But that is great info. I do not throw crankbaits or jerk baits, so it is easy for me to know which rods would work best for me.
I’ve really been wanting to get one of those cranking rods. I need a rod dedicated to small square bills.
great information. Appreciate it. Does anyone know if you can purchase extra baitcaster spools for the Bass Pro reels? It would be nice to be able to swap out spools when going from flouro to braid applications?
Got three of them bass pro because of double e lom
Thanks for information what would be all round reel gear ratio
Thanks
I always wondered why u and like ott always threw the carbon lite series some. When yall could fish all the platinum series?
Question, what was the jerkbait rod you were using during redcrest?? The rod looks very black and not like the BPS rods you showed in this video. I'm really considering getting a dedicated jerkbait rod. Appreciate a reply thanks.
P. S. You and Ott help me decide to purchase a new z21 a year ago. Just put a 4 blade fury 23p prop on it and I really really enjoy driving that boat now. No more annoying porpoising at mid-range like the boat had with the three blade 23p and I didn't lose any top end. Consider doing a video on comparing different props for the z21, as I'm sure that I'm not the only person that has had problems like this. 👍
For me most of the time i use a 6'9" in MH. But my boat is older and the rod box is small and the longest I can put in it us a 7'.
Great video but I’ve always been told to use a moderate action rod on crank baits but I can find any moderate action at BPS.
BPS Crankin Stick will fit the bill there. It's labeled as a fast for some reason, but being a graphite/glass composite, it has more of a moderate action compared to an all graphite fast. I have the 7' MH and it has been great. I use it mostly for squarebills, but will throw deeper running baits on it too and it does make a pretty good chatterbait rod.
@@reelncfishing919 thanks
Where do you get your butt caps for your rods and are they weighted to help balance the rods or just for added grip?
Sir, that kind of rod butt pad do you use? Never heard you speak of it. Just wondering.
Thank you
But what are the prices for those combos cause Jonny Morrison is high
Most important! 7'6" flipping stick with a 7.3:1
Did you mention a worm rod?
What spinnerbait is that? I think you said Berkley?
talking about a budget rod&reel combo lol i have to buy the $50 or less combos im a poor man....and i havent recieved my winners tackle from aprils giveaway....
Get a Berkley Cherrywood 7’ MH and pair it with a Abu Garcia Black Max. Rod is $20 and you can find Black Max’s sometimes for $39.
I really appreciate the content you put out, but you left out essential information for us to make informed purchases. You kept saying "medium heavy action" or "heavy action" when those are power ratings for a rod and you never actually shared the action for the rods/techniques you mentioned.
I was really excited to watch this video, mostly to hear what action you prefer for certain techniques. Do you fish drop shot on a medium extra fast or just fast? Fish a vibrating jig on a medium heavy fast or medium heavy moderate?
All love my man, just wanted to reach out for the sake of clarity.
My father in law needs this video he had old broken zebco 33‘s that are so old I used one a few weeks ago and the drag tension knob fell off in my hand, the rod was so flimsy it was like fishing with a wet spaghetti noodle I told him if he is going to be my sons gramps I am gonna have to update his arsenal. I don’t know if you’ve ever fished with a wet spaghetti noodle but you won’t want any tournament that way it was bad bad
You didn’t talk about the specific action of the rods? Fast? Parabolic? Etc if you don’t buy those specific brands .
I wonder how many combos E have on his deck lol
Need a discount code for 20% off!
Lol
You kept saying action but don't you mean power? I feel like pros and UA-cam people doing these videos always flip flop these or use them interchangeably but rod manufacturers don't and all this does is confuse the buyer. You can get medium power moderate fast action rods, medium power fast or extra fast. Also get medium moderate or medium heavy moderate. Using action and power interchangeably is confusing to the ones that really need the video to make a sound purchase.
Edwin you should do a giveaway for a crankin Rod
