    Edwin, thanks for all of the helpful instruction in this video. I really appreciate the mention on the Texas Tackle split ring pliers. I cannot tell you how many pairs of bad split ring pliers I own. I have been looking for a good working pair that would help me switch out the trebles on some of my crankbaits. Some crankbaits I have had as long as thirty years, others simply get tangled up on each other on casts, and some just flat out need to be upgraded. I found the Texas Tackle split ring pliers available at Tackle Warehouse and Cabela's.

    This was a good one. I just did 5 tonight , I watch this last night got everything prepared today after dinner sat down and knocked them out, just waiting for tomorrow to seal up. They came out perfect, the braided split rings, genius.... thx for sharing I'm dying to try these new 5 baits out.

    Thanks for sharing! I just wrecked a handful of 25.5's last week trying to do this. Any chance Berkley has a silent model in the works? Would love to see that offered as well as some more translucent colors! Also - any tips for removing the stock paint on a Dredger? It is tough as nails.

    I use the same method but with Superglue for silencing my crankbaits. The foam I use it for lures that I find that want float no more or for buoyancy. Tip put a bead of that foam in the tail of a worm or the clamps of a crawfish!👊🏾💪🏾

    Edwin, Never in my mind would I have thought to use braid as a split ring. Thank you for that! I am definitely going to try this. I guess the foam isn't enough to alter the depth of the bait because it buoyancy and basically air correct? Again, thanks for all you do for us amateur's..

    Always wondered why so many companies are not also offering a silent version of their crankbait. Fishing pressured lakes from the bank I’ve noticed that the younger fish hit the rattles but I’ve thrown some silents and that’s when I get the bigger ones. Those fish hear that rattle all the time and got to be weary of it.

    Definitely a good hack sir but I’m gonna echo what others have said. Being that you’re on the pro staff with Berkley along with other pro anglers, and you guys pitch new ideas you’d think Berkley along with other major bait companies would take this idea and run with it. They would for sure be a good selling bait!

  • @everythingbassin6315

    Do u think maybe the reason balsa crankbaits work better a lot of the time is the different sound the hooks slapping the side make?

    • @EdwinEversfishing
      @EdwinEversfishing  3 роки тому

      Could be one reason but another could be the buoyancy of the bait and how it deflects off of a object..?

    I noticed that your 1/8th inch drill bit wanted to slide when you first started drilling. I know this will add a step to the process, but consider drilling a pilot hole first with a 1/16th inch bit. You will have an easier go when you us the 1/8th bit.
