    New end 2022 review!

    I find it a really bad review.
    One: it's on the lowest end on the DSLR price range, it should be reviewed as such.
    Two: Sony A6000 costs almost twice as much, it's an unfair comparision
    Three: the autofocus of the camera isn't bad. The autofocus of the kit lense is. Even a low cost upgrade on the kit lense (which still leaves the 2000D under the price of Sony A6000) has an enormous positive effect on autofocus.
    All in all, this IS a beginner camera, and a pretty good way to start with DSLRs. If someone has more money to spend on a DSLR, yeah, it's not for them. But for someone, who just starts DSLR photography, and wants a camera that has an extremely wide range of lenses available that can be used even after a camera upgrade, it's a good choice. There is a reason why it's so cheap.
    Your video was like reviewing a Suzuki Celerio and complaining that it's slower than a BMW M3, and doesn't have the build quality of a Volkswagen Phaeton.

    • @GaryJahman
      @GaryJahman  2 роки тому +14

      Thanks for sharing your perspective. I wouldn't recommend a Suzuki Celerio as well. Spend money on things you want and like.
      It's totally true that this can be used for beginners without a big budget. But I know what it's like to have no money. That's why I urge to spend money on better things and in this case a better camera.
      No hard feelings, really appreciate the time you took to watch and write your thoughts. Big respect

    I already bought this camera 2-3 months ago , i learned how to use it good in manual mode , and now i understand photography better , i've take a lot of great shots even in low light conditions , but it's ISO capabilities are not that strong , so for night photography i dont recommend it that much. unless ur using it in a good lighting location , or use it's flash which is built in . as i see , i definitely need to pick up a 50mm 1.8 lens , a nifty fifty is a must have lens for me as someone who loves portraits , it doesnt have flip screen , that hurts me so mad , cuzz i cant rly see what im focusing on when i want to take high or low angle shots . overall , my opinion on it is that - its good for someone who is a hobbyist , and does not take photography as a thing to make money out of , maybe the t7i , or canon m50 would be much better for me now , but i did my mistake ,
    at least i learned photography and videography much better .
    and i also have my eyes on the Sony a7iii , maybe later on i will pick one up !

Even just the kit lens was doing very well, I've shot many star trails long exposures and very high quality timelapses (6000x4000 and it caught every single star that was bigger than a pixel, with minimal noise). I'm sure you could start capturing nebulae with this camera if you get something like a 100mm lens (used, for cheaper price)

    Ive used my T7 on Motorsports, i found that the focus is very quick using the viewfinder, its the lens that lacks, mind you the 18-55 was produced in the 90s and hasnt changed literally at all, even the plastic mount remained until they put out one with F4-5.6, which you likely dont have since its not what they give you, however back and forward focus is a DSLR problem in general, thats why the EF lenses work better than ever on modern mirrorless cameras

I've switched to mirrorless two years ago but still have my 5d mark iv because I still love the experience with a dslr. New photographer will have to use this so that they can perfect their exposure etc. If the basics of a camera aren't being practice in a way that will force you to learn then it'll be hard if they get into a tricky situation where they dont know which settings is which in a situation.

    If you want to learn about photography, the basic rules and take some stunning pictures as you learn then this is a fantastic camera. The focal length of the lens you use isn't true, because its a crop sensor but all that is the stuff you learn as you use the camera.

    I cringe every time I look at one of these Canon reviews of the 2000D and they reference the Rebel T7 model number. The 2000D is the International model whereas the T7 is the model sold in the US. The two cameras bodies are identical but the kit lens that is packaged with the camera is different. The Rebel T7 sold in the US comes with Image Stabilization (IS) in the lens. The 2000D has a very similar kit lens but it does NOT include Image Stabilization. In addition, many 3rd party sellers in the US are selling the 2000D but advertising it as a model 2000D/Rebel T7 (just like the title of your review). Some of these advertisements are using language taken straight from Canon's spec sheet for the T7 which includes the phrase "Image Stabilization" but clearly the product that they are selling does not include IS. In addition the 2000D models being sold in the US are a "grey market" product for which Canon will not warranty. That's another fact being left out of the advertisements.

    What camera would you recommend I get as a beginner , one with a similar price to the 2000d

    • @GaryJahman
      @GaryJahman  3 роки тому +3

      Hi there, I'd go with the Sony A6000 or A5100.
      But if you want to learn the basics of photography then this 2000d will be okay.
      I just feel that the ones that I suggest will offer a more pleasant experience ☺️

    What’s your suggestion for a camera for simple product photos & videos?

    • @GaryJahman
      @GaryJahman  3 роки тому

      For photos any camera would do actually. But for video things become quite challenging. Did you had anything in mind or a budget?

    • @alissataylor8875
      @alissataylor8875 3 роки тому +1

      Gary Jahman No, I’m still researching & building my business plan so I haven’t set a budget yet. But I would just be filming short videos maybe about 45 seconds with close ups of the product

    • @GaryJahman
      @GaryJahman  3 роки тому +1

      @@alissataylor8875 well if you don't want to spend a whole lot of money (up to $750) then maybe a Sony a6100 or 6300 would be good enough for your needs. Combine this with a Sigma 16mm or 30mm f1.4 lens then you can do both product photography and video.
      The thing about product photography and video is that you'll need also some additional lights and the knowledge on how to edit it all.
      You may also want to check an iPhone 11 pro. I forgot his name, but there are lots of people out there that solely use an iPhone for simple product photography and video.
