    I feel so rushed during the day ...today I thought MUST be able to take at least 6 minutes. Thank you so much for posting this. I realize 6 minutes isn't enough but it's a start...again :)

      You're welcome Trish 🙏 the modern life seems always in a rush, I'm so glad you found 6 minutes to step out. As you say, this short time is not enough, but it has sparked that reminder to do it again 😊 Wishing you health and happiness, Lily

    A beautiful qigong presentation! Thank you both. The music is soothingly calm. Can you please let me know the title of this track.

      Hi Mary, thank you for the lovely feedback. Rather unhelpfully the music is called 'The competition music of Health Qigong' it was commissioned for the International Health Qigong Federation, for the Health Qigong Games demonstrations by participants. It is a lovely piece of music 😊 Lily

    Muchas gracias por compartir su técnica-arte. Es sorprendente que estos aparentes sencillos movimientos que al coordinarse con la respiración y el pensamiento, podamos lograr un estado de equilibrio interno y un bienestar físico. ¡Felicitaciones!

      Profe Gerardo,
      Gracias por sus amables comentarios. En la práctica del Tai Chi y el Qigong, cuando la mente, el cuerpo y el espíritu trabajan juntos en armonía, realmente se logra una gran diferencia en nuestra salud y felicidad. Mis más cálidos deseos, Lily

    Should we intentionally contract the muscles isometrically when doing the movements or is the whole body meant to be relaxed throughout? Thank you.

    Thank you for posting ma'am 🙏🏽. A question: Why tuck the thumb into the fist?

    • @YogaLilyStudio
      @YogaLilyStudio  10 місяців тому +4

      Thank you for the great question D Rod - This grip places the tip of the thumb at the root of the ring finger (3rd finger) - This hand form is called "Grip" or "holding solid", and is commonly used in Taoist health practice. In both Taoism and TCM the root of the ring finger is the "portal" or Meridian to the liver, where the soul is believed to be hidden (in TCM the hand form is called "Liver Grip"). The taoist masters observed that a baby that is full of natural health and vitality, will clench its fists in this manner and is full of courage. In Qigong we are encouraged to return to Original (our natural born state), so we will clench our fist tightly and naturally in the Grip to bring ourselves back to original state, like children to remove nervousness, to not be scared and be brave like a child - The liver is linked to our bravery/courage, if the liver becomes out of balance it can make a person quick to be Angered or Frightened. This can be a little esoteric, but it digs down deep in to Taoist/TCM thinking and philosophy. I hope this makes some sense 😊 Lily

    Very nice. I have a question. On the second part (Draw the bow, shoot the arrow), what is the breath pattern? Breath out or in during the extension?

    • @YogaLilyStudio
      @YogaLilyStudio  Рік тому +1

      Hi Bill, Thank you for the great question - As you 'draw' the bow open it is Inhale - and as you 'release' the arrow/bow to cross the wrists it is exhale. I hope that is helpful. Thank you so much for practicing with me 😊 Lily
