The Meridian is available with a 2.0-litre diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmissions. It can be had with a front-wheel or an all-wheel drive setup.

I don't know much about cars but a proper suv with such huge size with fwd doesn't sound good. Atleast rwd dena chahiye tha.

I have JEEP COMPASS 4x4 AT… its very sluggish in city because it has a low ratio gear within the gearbox itself as 1st gear so basically car starts with the 2nd gear and makes more noise than moving forward…
If i plan to buy Meridian in 4x2 Limited (O) AT which is the first time offering of AT in 4x2 form as Compass doesn’t have it, will it behave as a normal 9speed AT car??? Please reply if you have any information regarding this… 🙏

@@vip-cw1st if buying an Automatic then yes! 4x2 is much better than 4x4… but sadly its only available in Meridian and not in Compass…
If you buying Manual then both are equal in terms of gearbox performance…

@@vip-cw1st 4x4 system has separate low ratio gearbox for extreme off roading.. while in Jeep 4x4 for India has low ratio gearbox in the 1st gear of the main AT gearbox itself… so basically your car starts with 2nd gear and hence its very noisy in slow speeds and specially during pick up it will move less n make more noise which is irritating…
If you buy 4x2 Automatic, then its ok..no problem with that…
Also, why 4x2 Automatic is not available in Compass but it’s Available with Meridian is something which confuses me… but i think thats bcoz Jeep has highly messed up with organising variant and prices of the compass… & Meridian has less variants..

For a car which we are spending 38 lakhs they don't offer 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster and ventilated seats even that fortuner have ventilated seates😂

Jeep meridian diseal engine power and tourq less and price high same engine Jeep Compass better Mahendra Xuv700 petrol engine more power and tourq, also sunroof is not useful for safety purpose
