It sits lower than its predecessor (by 30mm), comes with a muscular bonnet, and a strong new grille with twin vertical bars, which gives it a lot of road presence. A nice touch is the way the outside vertical bars bend and flow into the headlight cluster.
Jeep has launched the Meridian in India, with prices starting from Rs 29.90 lakh, going up to Rs 36.95 lakh for the top-spec 4x4 variants. Bookings for the Jeep Meridian are already underway, and deliveries are set to commence from the third week of June. The Meridian is based on the Compass platform, but has been completely reworked to accommodate a third row of seats.The Meridian is powered by a 170hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine, Costs Rs 6.26 lakh more than an equivalent variant of the Compass, All-wheel drive system reserved for automatic variants only.

We have cancelled xuv and booked meridian… off roading is far better stability, built quality and Yess feels safe and comfortable inside , we booked not because of American because of its quality, xuv started giving its problems now, no doubt it is also a good car, reliability is the question.

It is not an Indian car. All technology and components are imported. It is assembled in India by an indian auto maker.
Infact meridian is more Indian as same quality that we get in India is same as one driving outside India. It is manufactured in Pune and has become export hub for jeep

A detailed comparison but I will say that it is a one-sided comparison where you are not highlighting the many important features which we require in day-to-day City traveling and they are missing in GeeP meridian but present in XUV 700 ....... LIKE BLINDSPOT MONITOR , COOLED GLOVE BOX , WI-FI HOTSPOT CONNECTIVITY , ADAS. Functionality , extra apps for utilitarian purpose. , Tyre position on idle screen , inbuilt air purifier with air quality index , Better pickup in both diesel and petrol engines as compared to the engine of jeep which is underpowered clearly........ Well now talking about the build quality both have excellent build quality moreover Jeep Meridian which is 75 mm longer then XUV 700...... Has a body weight of 1890 Kgms....... While the shorter length XUV 700 has body weight of 1960 ---2000. Kgms..... Now you can decide about the safety and build quality which I think are almost equal .

First - counting on features doesn’t clarifies a vehicles reliability. Jeep or FIAT diesel engines are one of the most proven reliable engines, which can be seen as the leading manufacturers like MG and Tata uses exactly same ones. The behaviour of those engines are linear power delivery - saying it underpowered is like a non sense statement.
You saying about extra apps for use😂.. oh boy ! Even the crucial apps hangs in XUV 700 like Google maps which can cause sufferrings. Where you see only crucial ones in Jeep which runs butter smooth for both ios and android.
Well now comes the major one built quality … Euro ncap and Australian ncap are found to be the toughest ncap in world where Jeep scored 5 star rating. The quality which it caters is monocoque chassee with laser welded technology which is not there in any segment less than 50-60 lacks SUV.

Most importantly the the cheap plastic quality which Mahindra uses and the worst after sales is something every Mahindra lovers hide. Multiple incidences happened where new XUV and Scorpio N got burned and wheels detached while running came. But Mahindra is hiding its asss instead of helping and refunding owner.
The ppl who drives Jeep knows that what it offers wrt driving dynamics and quality product.
The main problem is xuv700 interior feels cheap(plastic and buttons) compared to meridian.

The build quality, fit and finish, premium touch XUV700 doesn't even come close to the Meridian, so is the price.
Xuv700 owners are crying or selling their cars, steering problems, sound from suspension and typical desi mahindra problems.
When it comes to NVH levels and Suspension, Meridian is one of the best, whereas Mahindra is laughable.
Jeep is not a great brand in America .... Most sold cars in America are Japanese brands. I have seen top variant of xuv700 and it does not look cheap. I don't think Jeep is worth the money as well. I would rather go for a Japanese brand if not Mahindra. American cars are not that great, anyway it all depends as some feel proud to own American brands not sure why :)
