*Maynard has never lost it.*
He still has the ability to sing and scream, just not the ability to go 100% like that for an entire concert anymore. Seems like he mentioned something in an interview in the last few years that he can sing or he can scream but it's really difficult for him to do both at a high quality and intensity during a single show these days. I saw the KC show real close to this one and he sounded amazing doing Part Of Me, but had to really tone down screams and intense parts in other songs during the whole show and of course they totally avoid a lot of songs because it would blow his voice out trying to do too much of it.

He definitely saved his voice for the new album and now that it’s done they are going to play all the songs with these heavy vocals and that also means the album has screams as well!!!
@@mistymountainflop I'm hoping. Hearing descending and invincible I am worried that there's not going to really be any screaming but this proves that he still has it. So let's hope he brought it to the recording sessions for the album. I think he didn't want to scream in descending and invincible because they are singles and they get played live the most so it's easier on his voice long term.

Maynard never lost his ability to do the more taxing vocal parts of any TOOL song, he's just smart enough not to blow his vocal chords out for every show. I get people feeling shorted somewhat when they go to see TOOL live and don't get to hear the end vocals for "Vicarious" etc but MJK has to think "big picture". I'm a huge Deftones fan and I know Chino has had to have at least one surgical procedure done on his vocal chords from going so hard at Deftones shows over the years. Now you hear Chino preserving his voice on a lot of live songs as well. You can't go and buy new vocal chords like you can new guitar strings and drum heads. LOVED hearing this, hope "eulogy" is thrown into the mix for the "Fear Inoculum" tour when it finally gets rolling.

I doubt they’ll put back in Eulogy, that song is so challenging to sing. I think they’ll play Sober or Third Eye before that.
Holy Shit They played the same set from the previous show in Spokane. No Parabol/Parabola but the Pneuma, Schism, Jambi, Descending, Forty Six & 2 run.....Nice. I was 5th row aisle in front of Justin so the vocals were pretty faint. I still have tickets for the postponed Tacoma Dome show.
So glad they played this. Their sound was amazing last night. Someone took a great video of their last song and caught Dannys stick

My respect for Tool increased when I saw Serj on stage with them
System of a down didn't age well. The level of dedication is vastly different between the two bands. Serj has been checked out for years and years now. I think he's way passed being a rockstar at this point in his career.
@@paisteuser06 System might would've been in a better place if Daron didnt want most of all royalties and the fact Serj isnt really interested in heavy music anymore. Its sad to see how much of their song writing and musical talent has been wasted for 15 years now
@@fedora997 Yeah, when material things like money and royalties take precedence over the basic fundamentals of being in a band and creating music, you're done. I have always believed System should have called it quits after 2005/2006 following that mezmorized/hyptnotized tour.
Maynard just circling around like a damn lion in a cage up there... a classic rubber-man dance to feel the rhythm. THEN that show stopping roar we are hopelessly in love with and see like an old friend you'd love to reconnect with but never thought you'd see again. That banshee is NOT gone and I have the dumbest grin on my face knowing I'm around to see it.

I waited half my lifetime to see these guys in concert I made it a point to see these guys as much I could all last year. Three times and each time it was sick. Birmingham, San Antonio, Tulsa.
