Dale! The last time the class died because there were no rules and it just fizzled out. Hopefully with a somewhat even playing field with inexpensive motors, it'll be a fun 2nd class for a lot of people not looking to get into 4WD. 4WD is becoming the largest class. Hope to see you soon!
Wait... When I bought my Storm Moe told me to put a 13.5 in it... now it has changed again? What is the spec motor now? I am going over the Storm and putting it back into race condition. I also bought different tires to try, I hope there is no tire rule.
I'm building a Tekno SCT410SL at the moment and they have included the wrong rear suspension tower (from a ET410). New territory for a dude who has never had this issue with Associated, TLR, Schumacher, HB Racing, Team Durango and Tamiya.
so with it having a ball diff are all the kit tuning options NOT set up for carpet? like diff height, kickup/caster, shock oils and preload and those sort of things? also, thanks SO much for these videos. your b6.4 build videos were a great help when i was looking at buying one and during the build. these t6.4 videos are also a huge help so far.
I think the diff height, kickup, caster, shock oils are pretty spot on for carpet. The only thing I've had to do other than get the gear diff, is lay down the shocks (all the way in at the tower and all the way out on the arms). This allowed me to get the ride height lower for carpet otherwise it was sitting at 19mm ride height. I think I'm running 16mm ride height now. Running Jconcept swaggers up front and fuzz bites in the rear. Glue the side walls in the front. It helps prevent traction rolling. I've settled on 10k diff fluid with a fixed timing 17.5T motor. 15-20k might be a good starting point for a 13.5T motor. I'm using a standard size servo, and others at my track seem to like a little more weight up front. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Associated is just out to make more money. Bigger shock = more weight which = more wear and tear. Having to buy a body and gear diff shows the same pattern.
Lol, don't give them ideas. I really wish they would go back to including bodies and wheels. At least you still sometimes get them in buggy kits, and some TLR.
I understand that a lot of manufacturers don't include short course truck bodies in their kits because they would make the box much larger and shipping costs increase for them, BUT there is enough room in the box for a stadium truck body. Schumacher and Xray (the only other brands that still make a current stadium truck) include body and gear diff in their kits at a much more competitive price.
I completely agree. It would be very difficult for me to recommend or sell the kit to someone new to the hobby wanting to race stadium trucks at our local carpet track at $390 (kit) + $30 (body) + $40 (gear diff) = $460. When they could get a Schumacher ($380) or Xray ($400) that come with everything you'd need to run on carpet. I bought it to help build the class and hopefully get more interest in stadium trucks at our local track. Cheaper option for a second class for people who don't want to spend $1000+ on a 4WD setup.
Good to see you back Man!!! CHEERS🏆🏆🏆
Not all classes need motor and tire specs... run what ya brung!!!

@@atharsgarage4197 I might show up Friday to practice offroad with a brand new Slash. I have a set of Fuzz Bites mounted up to try with it as well

Any concern getting small rocks stuck between the pinion/spur gears? Only have a dirt track near me and i dont want to replace gears each time i go

I really dislike this kit because no body is included, soon we won't get the car just the box and the manual

They are just really discouraging new people from getting into the hobby.
