Schumacher LD3 Stock Spec Build - Steps 26 - 28
Schumacher LD3 Stock Spec Build Steps 26 - 28. Highly recommend that you clean the grease out of the bearings and oil them. They will spin much faster and have less drag. Everything went together smoothly. Probably the best fitting transmission case when compared to Associated and XRAY. No issues to report.

Very cool! May I ask which ESC (how many amps), which motor, batts (4S/6S, C rating), servo and receiver you are using? Thanks!
Hello. Thank you for the good video. I don't go to track. Sometime it's far, but it will go. I'm doing it in the park or on the grass. Sometimes on the asphalt or tennis court. Which buggy will fit well? for Carpet or dirt. I’m looking Team B7 or Xray Xb 25 … If Team b7 what tires Jconcepts dirt Trac mini or Smoothie 2 thank you 😅

Thanks! really helpful while building the gtx8, mostly the same so far
Glad the video series helped you out!
In the servo link if is more the 15mm it will affect in something ? … the reason I ask i center the servo it will pull the steering to the left … but I adjusted the servo link to center everything it came out with 17.08 mm … my question is should I return to the 15mm or leave it to 17.08mm ?
After building the car, I ended up adjusting my servo link. I made sure the steering bellcranks/ steering rack was centered, then I adjusted the servo link until the servo horn was vertical.
Grub screw 😮😅
Great series. Thank you!
Just got the ‘23, since they have fixed some of your notes with the droop screws, they still have not fixed Loctite indications on screws going into most metal. I had very similar issues with the differentials no matter what I did there was major minding. I had to remove the shim on the pinionand placed two shims on the left in the rear and two shins on the right in the front, I have not run still in the middle of the building. Hopefully things will loosen up and I’ll revisit. I enjoyed your video. It was very helpful.
Just completed Bag 7. For a first time B7D builder this series has been invaluable. Thank you so much
Would this combo be good in a 2wd sct 13.5?
As perfect as it gets!
Hi there great video you made a comment about the protek RC servos you have it back words just to correct you the the brushless protek 160 TBL model with titanium gears is the way better one I had mine for now for three or four years now it’s the other protek servo that has the metal gears is horrible they blow out instantly u don’t have to hit pipes or anything it just goes out suddenly it’s a bad they have the replacement gear set for it the the 160 TBL with titanium gears goes like forever I hadn’t had any problems with mine likevi said I had mine for three to four years now just a piece of info man great video on the t6.4 I have one also go stadium truck need to bring it back strong.Lol
Just picked that esc up for my Typhon TLR w/ 4268 2200kv motor. I got the ota programmer to set esc settings.
Your build videos are amazing. I'm following this as I currently build my B7D. Thank you so much. Very helpful 👍
For carpet with a 13.5 motor, stock spur 78T, 48P what pinion you recommend ? and brand if possible Thanks
Excellent video. Easy to follow. Thank you!
Would the Hobbywing XR10 Justock G3S Sensored Brushless ESC/SD G2.1 Motor Combo (13.5T) be good on this buggy?
awesome job!!
Hey mate. Thank you again. I just binge watched over and over your b74.2 series while I was building mine, incredibly helpful, many thanks ! I have a noble 4 plus and will be following advice again. Awesome channel, very grateful for you ☺️
Has anyone tried it on a b74.1 ??? Seems like it would drop right in.
Hey Athar. Greetings from Sydney Australia. I’m about to start building mine in a couple of days. Thank you so much for this build series, it’s been very helpful. This is my first kit build ever, wish me luck lol
Is there a video on how to replace the 4 way chrome knuckle?
Thanks Bud
Dude if you see all the guys set up sheets on AE their running 60k-500k I’m gonna run 2 gear metal cross pin at 80k the 30k is to light
Is this recommended for the awd version
So basically made it like a gear diff without being a gear diff hence why I run the dirt version for both carpet and dirt racing
Please explain why you think that. Would like to hear your thoughts. If you had a gear diff, the front wheel would still be acted upon by the diff and motor while under braking. Maybe if the center diff weight was low, it might not? With the decoupled slipper kit, it "disconnects" the front wheels from the slipper and motor and turns the buggy into rear wheel braking only (when you are braking). Under acceleration, there is no diff action where the front or rear may slip, it locks up instantly, and both the front and rear see power. I think there are benefits to have from this system over the center diff on carpet. I've driven a XRAY with a center diff with 500k fluid in it, and I didn't like the tendencies it had when compared to a decoupled slipper. Decoupled slipper on carpet was quicker.
Do you think this would work on a sealed dirt surface?
I'm not sure. I've never driven mine on dirt, and don't know if the traction levels are high enough to see the benefits. Most people generally run the center differential and tune with diff oils.
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Helps a lot
Update ??
Just posted a review on the decoupled slipper kit. Thank you for watching!
i cant get my rear axles out there is no bolt for it on my stampede from 2015
Can you tell me all the fluids and grease to buy that's not in the kit. I am getting ready to order mine and I'm wanting to make sure that I have everything ready for the build.
ProtekRC O-ring Grease - amzn.to/3sO4EVO ProtekRC gearbox grease - a.co/d/2Vd4FKm Stick with stock shock fluid weights. Use 5-10k Diff fluid on low power motors (21.5T) and 10-20k on higher powered motors (17.5T).
but don't forget your screwing into plastic guys!! thanks for the video though it really helped
7:00 just undo the 1 screw on the bottom. quicker and much easier to get to.
i figure i would share this because it took up way to much of my life. i did not notice the outer slipper "hub" was keyed. i was trying to put it together but for some reason there was still a space in the slipper (slop) because i wasnt aware i had to get the outer piece slid onto the shaft also. also, that pin was a GIANT pain in my ass. it was SO tight.
so with it having a ball diff are all the kit tuning options NOT set up for carpet? like diff height, kickup/caster, shock oils and preload and those sort of things? also, thanks SO much for these videos. your b6.4 build videos were a great help when i was looking at buying one and during the build. these t6.4 videos are also a huge help so far.
I think the diff height, kickup, caster, shock oils are pretty spot on for carpet. The only thing I've had to do other than get the gear diff, is lay down the shocks (all the way in at the tower and all the way out on the arms). This allowed me to get the ride height lower for carpet otherwise it was sitting at 19mm ride height. I think I'm running 16mm ride height now. Running Jconcept swaggers up front and fuzz bites in the rear. Glue the side walls in the front. It helps prevent traction rolling. I've settled on 10k diff fluid with a fixed timing 17.5T motor. 15-20k might be a good starting point for a 13.5T motor. I'm using a standard size servo, and others at my track seem to like a little more weight up front. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Good video, thanks for the series. In the manual and what I've seen the thicker 2mm caster hat goes on top, not bottom. Otherwise the build looks good so far!
Good info. I’m building the B7D real soon so this will be helpful!
Im building with nearly the same parts I ordered from Houston rc and I'm having a small issue with interference from the very small screws installed on the first step on the lower arms interfering with the chassis. I think I'm going to leave then partially unscrewed for now, but I don't know what their purpose is
If you are referring to the M1.2x3 PB screws, they are for adjusting droop. Make sure they are not screwed in all the way. The proper way to adjust this setting is to use a droop blocks and gauge. I think at the end of the manual it shows you can eyeball the droop by screwing them down so that the lower arms don't fall past level.
@ thank you I was able to figure this out
Nobody commented but we did see the motor running 0.27A when it came out of the ipa. The current draw went up after you over oiled the bearings. The danger with over oiling is that some may flow through onto the commutator. Can't be certain if this happened in your case but you definitely did something to increase the current draw which you subsequently reversed.
Works on 4wd to 🎉
Does the esc 11g plate come in the kit ?
Do you have to take the whole gearbox assembly out to replace the hinge pins ?
No, I think you should be able to access the hinge pins if you take the two most rearward screws out. The ones that go through the D-block.
Hi there great video. If I want to add my lipo 2s, is there any changes I need to make with the electronics? Or is it as simple as just adding a 2s lipo with a T-plug?
I think they are ready to use lipo's out of the box. I would check the manual for ESC Settings. There are usually jumpers that you have to adjust to switch from NiMH and LiPo.
