  • So I received this Polyend Medusa synth a while ago for review. It took me a minute to like it truthfully. But I have to say when its all said and done, its a very unique and lovable synth. Here I get a chance to tell you what I like about it. It's quirky. it's not the "every synth". It has its own sort of sound and vibe. Blending the 3 analog OSC with the 3 digital OSC makes for a fun ride and here I put it in context with my style of music.

Thank you for being one of like three channels on all of UA-cam that made nice noises on this thing. It's so dope but everyone reviews with the worst patches possible, makes it much harder to like!

Well the idea is to see the hardware , Know what it IS capable of and then MAKE YOUR OWN PATCHES with it

Haven't come across any of your stuff in a while. I already bought a Medusa but I watched this anyway and it's definitely one of the best out there. Thanks for always putting out quality content.

On the hunt for a synth to pair with my force an 404 this didn't turn into a modern classic but you made it sound good in this video

Yeah I'm mixed on it. I own one. Bought it at $899 and then the price dropped again and now it's $800. Originally $1300? Kinda startling to see a synth drop plummet in price over a few months.
It's definitely got lots of issues under the interesting premise. The interface is a little weird and segmented. The pads aren't the most sensitive things ever, especially coming from a Maschine, Push, and MPC Live.
I think ultimately I'm not in love with the sound of the oscillators and especially not the filters but it's really what this kinda generic sounding (and honestly at times cheap sounding) synth do with the sequencer that make it special.
    It's like a 6/10 for me.

Potential to be a future classic? I think so.

THIS SYNTHESIZER IS NOT FOR PRESET PRODUCERS

says who? there is absolutely nothing wrong with using presets to produce. sound design isn't for everyone, and that's no reason for anyone to avoid a unique synth like this one just because they aren't into sound design and deep synthesis.
