Wow! I remember when I was just a kid and I saw Ferraris, Porches, and other high end sports cars on the street. I would just sit there and examine them. When I got to the rims, the brake systems looked so complicated and was always amazed by the beautifully painted 4-piston calipers; crossed drilled rotors; vented gold colored zinc disc; and the over all dimensions of the breaking system. I would always see Brembo painted on the calipers and I knew they were something special.
this is the only motortrend video i have ever liked, and a big part of that is because none of the normal presenters were in it. the result is that i like this video a lot.
Great short film, extra praise for being unadulterated by a journalist-host. Let the engineers and craftsmen speak for themselves and their work. Exceptional!
They should do a brake test comparing all the different brake manufactures like stop tech, and Brembo to stock brakes and see if they really are worth the $10,000 dollar option. White girls need them to get to starbucks faster.
Samniss Arandeen kind of the point. and its why the greatest things about cars are dying like manuals and light weight car. the new miata is going to be sick tho.
I ran a set of brembo street bike brakes on my dirt bike for a while, they were totally amazing, up until I took a big rock the disk, and it bent it up nicely, and that in turn destroyed the caliber. It split the 4 pistons, shooting fluid everywhere..
If you're having a hard time understanding their accents, hit the "CC" button on the bottom right of the video. Well, the captions are way off, but also pretty entertaining to see what Google thinks these guys are saying.
The brembo's on my car are actually smaller than the ones I had on my previous car so I thought I would be stepping down in braking, wow was I wrong. They brake so car at the track that they flex the firewall so I had to buy a brace when I upgraded to stainless lines.
Some gauges are filled with oil and some are filled with glycerin. These fluids in the gauge help dampen the movement of the needle (like a shock absorber), this help save wear and tear on the mechanism. By dampening the needle oscillations, it makes the gauge easier to read.
They opted for the cheapest Brembo brakes. Why do you think a big hp car cost so little? By manufacturing it with the cheapest parts. They were only after the name so people would see the Brembo name, otherwise they would have bough even cheaper brakes from some unknown brake company.
Those brakes work 100% better than most cars on the streets. Any car will melt they brakes at the track, I remember reading about the Aventador been one of them. I have brembos on my 2011 GT and the brakes are considerably better than the stocks ones on my friends regular GT.
SpyderRios Yes, but the high performance Mustangs are known for weak brakes. Top Gear was beating the Aventador around the track and the brakes got hot after some very hard laps. That track has some long straights with top speed at 200 miles. Randy Pobst said the same thing about Mustang brakes when he tested it. The brakes were gone after one lap and when you give a car that much power you should give it better brakes.
0:32 you can tell he is not a @!#%$ PR guy, peacocking "we are the best in the world". Other companies should take note and bring in front of the camera the engineers and designers, not marketing guys.

Who in the world would not like Brembo, the largest & arguably best supplier of supercar stoppers in the world?

Great episode. I really enjoyed seeing the 3d rendering and some of the extra cooling that is now being designed into the break systems.

More precision than I thought, to create a high performance braking system. Good info

They should do a brake test comparing all the different brake manufactures like stop tech, and Brembo to stock brakes and see if they really are worth the $10,000 dollar option. White girls need them to get to starbucks faster.
Your last statement is everything wrong with the mainstream concept of a car.
Samniss Arandeen kind of the point. and its why the greatest things about cars are dying like manuals and light weight car. the new miata is going to be sick tho.

So what do you want us to do about it?

1:25 looks incredibly similar to DBA's *patented* Kangaroo Paw technology used in their disc brakes. www.dba.com.au/kangaroo-paw-ventilation/

Karbon keramik

Sweet video. Why is there water/oil in the gauges? Shouldn't they be fully filled or not at all? Sorry for a noob gauge question lol.
condensation!
Some gauges are filled with oil and some are filled with glycerin. These fluids in the gauge help dampen the movement of the needle (like a shock absorber), this help save wear and tear on the mechanism. By dampening the needle oscillations, it makes the gauge easier to read.
That broken gauge needle though...lol
I know right? It bothers me somehow, knowing that it is part of BREMBO's testing facility. It's also low on oil.
"Karbon Keramic"...nice

Oh so those are the brakes that killed Paul walker?!?!?
Stopping everything but the gt500 which will melt in a couple laps.
They opted for the cheapest Brembo brakes. Why do you think a big hp car cost so little? By manufacturing it with the cheapest parts. They were only after the name so people would see the Brembo name, otherwise they would have bough even cheaper brakes from some unknown brake company.
bezor Ta Brakes.

it is not the same to test the brakes in the facility as to test them in the track...
What's your point?
Carbon keramik
I NEED HELP! Can someone tell me the value of a 1999 Buick Century in Excellent condition with only 30,000 miles on it?
Look up "Kelley blue book".
