As a long time Leeds supporter, i thought that was fair enough. The only addition would be a mention about the sale of Elland Road. The ground was sold as part of the financial meltdown and it was brought back by Radrizzani. Which i think be deserves some credit for. One of the problems as i saw it with Radrizzani & Orta was they where always looking into the future and ignoring the present.

The likes of Leeds, Forest, Wednesday,, Derby, Everton and Villa who were staples of the premier league in the 90s just can’t compete with the mega clubs any more. I always felt these clubs were unlucky in that they were successful before the technological boom in the late 90s and early 00s which would have made them more marketable. Man United having their most successful period at this time meant that these clubs just got left behind and whilst the likes of United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool became brands and the formerly mentioned clubs got left behind. I suppose the emergence of Man City and Newcastle somewhat disprove this theory but they needed a hell of a backing to compete. As for Spurs, well Spurs are a curious case.

@@francolive5718 exactly there's a reason clubs like Brentford, Brighton and Fulham have risen from almost nowhere, a player would rather live in those places than Birmingham, Derby or Leeds for example
What’s telling is that last season, Leed’s had one of the worst defense in the entire league. Then during the summer transfer window last year…they purchased a single “defender” in Rasmus Kristenson. Leeds will have 4 different managers this season, but one thing that barely changed is the defense. Add to that the season ending injury of Tyler Adams, who did so much to break up opposition play in the midfield, it was a recipe for disaster.
Please can we have one of these on Wigan. Since winning the FA Cup we’ve played in Europe in the championship and reached the semis of the FA Cup the in consecutive years, been up and down between League 1 and Championship. Gone into administration, come within a point of being relegated to League 2, then promoted the following season to paying wages late several times and appointing a disaster our manager in Kolo Toure.

Great as always Alfie - would love to see a career retrospective on Rory Delap and his throwing ability, including statistics compared to goals from crosses in those seasons
Honestly, I wonder whether this cycle that seems to be the case, where clubs outside the top 6 having relative inconsistency over a period of several years by dropping up and down swiftly - which has already happened to Everton and Leicester, and may be the case for Brighton - is a real issue within English football
It's absolutely the case. Three teams have to go down, and given the big 4 became 6, and soon 7 with Newcastle, there will be 7 clubs essentially immune to relegation, they may have off years but they won't go down. That means there's a smaller amount of "comfortable" spots in the league left, everyone else is just circling the drain waiting their turn to drop. One bad transfer window will ruin years of progress. The other aspect is that the idea of being a "well run smaller club" eg Brighton is more well known now, it's not a novelty. Even supposedly well run clubs like Southampton are at risk, Swansea went down despite everyone cheering their management on for years. Clubs like Stoke and Sunderland bludgeoned their way to 10 years in the PL with bad management but that would never fly now, even the good clubs are at risk.
Hi Alfie. Always enjoy your what is wrong with videos. It was what got me into your channel in the first place. As a fan of serie A, looking forward to What is wrong with Genoa and Sampdoria. Both of them once proud clubs but now one of them is dead last in Serie A with almost certain relegation, the other even though 2nd in Serie B, was struggling in Serie A for several seasons before getting relegated last season. 😊
Hi Alfie I would suggest you do a how to fix or how run a specific football club in the perfect way. From the manager they should hire and the players they should sign. Love your vids :)
There was a time that Leeds United were touted as potential champions of England back in the early 2000s during the period when they were playing in the CL regularly and reached the semi finals at one stage but of course their financial meltdown came not long after that and they have never recovered since then and have been left way behind the current elite of the game
If Leeds had a better manager at the time they would likely have won the league eventually. David O'Leary had a star studded team and didn't even win anything.
@@CrackaPackify The only team he managed other than Leeds was Aston Villa where he did shocking as well. I can't believe there's some Leeds fans who actually still like O'Leary.
The recent comments by Allardyce is actually a fantastic piece of man management. Immediately puts all the attention on himself and takes it off the players, which is exactly what they need.
could you please make a video on SK Brann from Norway. the last five and a half years has been a true rollercoaster, including: losing the league title against rivals Rosenborg and facilitate Erling Haalands breaktrough in the same season (he scored 4 goals in 25 minutes agaist them, when they were unbeaten and top of the table), a complete collapse, internal turmoil, a scandal of pretty decent proportions, relegation afterone of the craziest games i've ever seen (6 goals and 1 red card in extra time, fell out on penalties), to being one of the hottest teams in Norway, obliterating every second tier record, reaching the norwegian cup final, being the better team against massive league favourites Bodø-Glimt and beating perennial league bullies Rosenborg in the span of 8 days (all 3 on the road).
I thought that "Leeds days" came from a South Korean documentary about Park ji-Sung during his time at Manchester United, and was more about the decline in form of Alan Smith since leaving Elland Road than of the club itself
Love this series, I know it's not a club in the worst position in context of others, but the downfall of Spurs from Poch to no DoF and manager and no direction would be a good deep dive
Tbh, as an outsider looking in. There is no " downfall" really. Yes they got to a champions league final but other than that is just been business as usual. Not winning anything, Audi Cup doesn't count either. Middlesbrough have more domestic trophies in my lifetime for example.
not really a downfall though. Just continuous underachieving based upon their investments in managers and players, resources & facilities. Champions League final was a moment of overachieving for which they didn't even show up for. They need to reach heights before you start calling 6/7th place underachieving.
Point about Leeds City - the 'pressure' applied by Port Vale on the inquiry to get Leeds expelled from the FL, so they could take their place, having failed to be accepted to the FL the previous season.
An incredibly researched, reasoned and well-balanced video. Amazes me how a neutral can see the faults in the board whilst a lot of our fans will still give excuses. Bielsa to Allardyce in 14 months, alongside the arrogance and ego driven signings shows how we've wasted all the potential from that 9th place finish.
At least, during Cellino's tenure, he signed alot of good players, the majority of Bielsa's promotion side were signed under Cellino, plus he signed Chris Wood who became league's top scorer and sold by Radrizzani to Burnley (and replaced with the terrible Lassoga, an early sign of things to come), Pontus Jansson and Kemar Roofe, also players signed by Cellino sold by Radrizzani to cover losses created by Radz himself on a crazy amount of u23's bought from different clubs of europe most of them still to play a minute of first team football 5 years later. Also Cellino sorted a financial nightmare inherited from the GFH fiasco, refunded the season ticket holders for not achieving promotion in 2017. His weakness was the inability of appointing a good head coach (even Garry Monk who did a "good" job in Leeds standards was terrible), and the fetish for creating controversy at every minute.
The same could apply to Chelsea who really are in freefall and if they had any less points on the board could genuinely be embroiled in a relegation battle but since Frank Lampard has taken control they have lost all their matches and are on course for their worst ever EPL campaign things aren't good there at all
I sometimes think the fsg are a bunch of pricks for not spending so much in the transfer market but after looking at chelsea this season and then leeds united or everton before I think it's a blessing in disguise that they are very stingy with their budget.
Lank Frampard... He's really burned ANY possibility of future EPL management now...he'll have to do it thru the lower tiers if anybody will have him...
Loved this vid. For an extra layer of context it's worth mentioning that the 49ers have been purchasing an increasing stake in the club over the years. There's an option to take full ownership which expires next January which they are likely to exercise in the summer but it is only valid if we're still in the Premier League. Orta has been sacked primarily because of the disastrous turn the club has taken post Bielsa and bringing Big Sam in is Radrizzani's one last throw at the dice on securing his payout, so that he doesn't have to spend more money trying to get us back out of the Championship. It's a situation largely of his own making, but in that context it's understandable why we've gone with Big Sam for now.
As a Leeds supporter, sacking Bielsa was wrong, sacking Jesse Marsch was egregiously wrong, and Javi Gracia is the worst manager in Premier League history. I’m just hoping for a miracle with Big Sam
One of them will spill the beans at the end of the season, probably Mckennie or his mate. Going to be a juicy story I hope because fans deserve an explanation!
Rudderless Leeds remind me of rudderless Palace, except Palace never had an inspiring Bielsa-like manager. They just muddle along hiring random managers without an overall philosophy or plan. It’s remarkable really that Palace has been in the PL for so long. They don’t do anything better than Leeds or clubs that have been relegated recently.
Great video, really thorough but so depressing, can’t believe how cursed we are, should have been one of the big 6 but just seem to go from one disaster to another.
I'll never forget when Bielsa laid it out in detail for half an hour how the opponent was scouted 😂truly epic - just as epic as that Austrian Wunderteam video will be 😇✌.
Fun Fact: The first season of the Premier League was such an intense. First, Manchester United somehow ended the 26-years of league drought after an awful start in the first half, including the first two league defeats over Sheffield United and Everton, but then recovered with a big signing of Eric Cantona. Traditional teams like Arsenal and Liverpool ended up in disastrous season, finishing below Aston Villa and Norwich City. Last, but not least, Leeds United, who were the reigning champions, only finished 17th and 2 points ahead of Crystal Palace, but it's not considered as embarrassment because they were only 8 points behind Liverpool, who ended up 6th. I think the 04-05 Serie A was even more fierce in terms of bottom half. Roma finished 8th with 45 points, but only 3 ahead of Bologna, who ended up being relegated (18th). This was even surprising because the club had won the Scudetto 4 years earlier.
Great video! Small point - I think "Leeds days" refers to the decline of Alan Smith rather than Leeds United. As in when he was at Man United you could lament at how much better a player he had been in his Leeds days.
I'm looking forward to a video on Queens Park FC. Possibly the most interesting story in world football. One of the first clubs, revolutionised the way the game is played, stayed amateur when the rest of the sport went professional. Them turns professional and quickly shoots up the Scottish Leagues. If they win tomorrow night they will be in the top flight for the first time in many years. (The first international game was basically Queens Park v England)
@@ThreeRunHomer financially speaking, wouldn't be a bad idea if they could move the home games against Celtic and Rangers to big Hampden. More or less guaranteed sellouts or at least huge crowds, if they still play each other 4 times a year in Scotland then be worth a few million a season. Probably need to stay at liitle Hampden for the other teams though.
5:20 Stuff like this worries me so much about the future of west brom Why on earth the EFL let our owners borrow £25 million with 15% interest, I dont know The loan has been secured against our ground, club trademark and training facilities, and cannot be paid back unless we do the unthinkable on Monday and scrape a playoff place followed by an even more unlikely 2 leg win over Luton, and finally win a luck of the draw final at Wembley at the end of the month Safe to say I do not think we'll be a championship club for very long Worst of all, this loan was taken out to cover day to day running costs of the club (not to cover transfers), while the owner still owes the club £ 20 million in unpaid loans to cover his other business's costs due to losses during covid
In 04-05 season, the same anomaly happened in Italy. Roma only finished 8th with 45 pts, but ONLY 3 POINTS above the 18th-placed (and relegation zone) Bologna with 42 pts.
The problem of leeds Is the one who fired March and brought Gracia, while March on charge I enjoy to watch the games, but Gracia team plays worse within the time. If leeds save the category, which I see I very complicated the way they play hope they fire Gracia.
That was a hard watcg it's taken me 3 months to watch it Jesus what a mess we was left after bielsa went he was mislead so bad he said the team would burn out after the 3rd season and radz and co would have to replace them ir replace him what a set of rats 🐀 to then blow a budget on dr feelgood jesse after getting rid of the best thing to happen to us i just hope Mr Bielsa knows just how much he truly meant to us leeds fans through the good the bad and the ugly i always had faith in him mot.
4th request: @HITCSevens Idea for episode: the 7 players currently playing in the lowest division in England to have played (or still playing) senior international football. Eg Knory Scott plays for Bermuda + Hastings Utd (level 7); Anthony Jeffrey plays for Guyana + Billericay Town (7).
A hard-hitting video, but a fair assessment. The mis-management of Leeds United has been happening for close to 50 years so it's obvious that the problems will not be solved overnight. It was a miracle that we avoided relegation last year; I don't see another one in the next few weeks. Leeds United will return to greatness, it's just going to take a long, long time.
hi alfie i really like your videos they are very informitive could you do one on the rise and fall of blackburn rovers premier leauge champions in 95 into nothing now and also and the fall and rise of ac milan thaks
Can you please do a video on my team Ipswich Town. We're going through somewhat of a transition right now, having just been promoted back to Championship. You'd find plenty to talk about both historically but also from this season.
You should do a video on Wolves in the glory days (40s, 50s, 60s) when they pioneerd European football with Real, Benfica and Honved, and built the original Busby Babes whilst winning leagues and cups. I feel like in England, there is a tendency to ignore football before 1966, and as a result guys like Billy Wright doesnt get as much attention as he should. The reason I thought of Wolves is that their owners have also borrowed a lot of money against this and next seasons Prem TV money, so things could have gone very wrong if relegation had happened this season.
What you said about Leeds being the the 4th biggest city in the UK, but unusually with only one club. All the football merchandise, shirts etc and tickets go to one club ,one stadium not two. Leeds should be one of the biggest teams in the premier league and Europe. I'd like to see some massive football fan mega rich tycoon see the potential of Leeds being a big city with just one team and buying it at championship prices and investing heavily in the team and stadium, like we have seen with other (even smaller) clubs over the Last 20 years. But I totally agree with your assessment that Leeds biggest enemy is Leeds itself.
I’d love one on Blackburn Sure they’ve just finished 7th this season and 8th last season but their fans have been told they have no money they keep charging a ticket price like they’re still in the prem The Steve kean era The relegation season Mowbray’s time at the club And of course the venkys I reckon it would make an interesting video Update Steve waggott has upped the adult ticket prices from £380 to £430 and is supposedly gonna raise them again come the end of the month Coventry fans warned our fanbase and half of them didn’t listen
Your tweet got serious traction. Funnily enough, I only found your channel last night, but I came across your tweet in the wild and left a comment. Only making the connection now because I recognized your screenshot in the video 😂
Some context to Leeds' infamous early 2000s decline: on New Years' Day 2002, they were top of the Premier League. Their next game was in the FA Cup against Second Division Cardiff, and they lost 2-1. They failed to win any of their next seven league games, slumped out of the top four, and remained outside it for the rest of the season. The rest is history.
Alfie, would you consider make two separate videos that go more in-depth about 1.Corrine Diacre’s controversial/toxic tenure as the manager of France’s Women’s National team which lead her to get sacked last month and 2.The alleged attack on Kheira Hamaroui by her own former PSG Teammate Aminata Diallo) into this video
Can you do a video about the Rise and Fall of South African Football. They were AFCON champions in 1996 now they can not even qualify. They had players in Premier League the likes of Lucas Radebe now not a single player

Even though I became a Leeds fan during Bielsa time, I understand why he had to leave eventually. The loss of star players like Phillips & Raphina hurt the club so much. Stop hating on Sam Allardyce since he might be able to help us stay up another year.
hey Alfie, I was wondering if you could do a What On Earth... about Independiente in Argentina. Situation got so bizarre that their last hope remains under a fundraising campaign led by an Instagram influencer...
Not a fan of Leeds (like anyone who isn't a supporter, I wouldn't be sad if they went down). That said, I am a fan of Sam Allardyce (probably biased since I'm a supporter of BWFC). In his defence, he almost certainly does know football as well as any manager out there. He was sacked by England because of unsavoury money dealings off the field, not because of his record, which was P1/W1. No one else could have set us up to be the solid PL staples we were for over a decade and get us into Europe for the first time ever. You may not like his football, but it is not as reductive as people think and it is highly effective. Incidentally, we relegated Leeds last time thanks to his team.
I was there! Though I was supporting Valencia. I run the Valencia CF supporters club in the UK, we brought a bunch of Anglo-Valencian fans with us to Elland Road.
The top 4 of the Premier League is now virtually a closed shop, or at least there are 7 mega-rich clubs battling for 4 spots. There is the odd exception, such as Brighton that might sneak into the top 7 when one of the rich clubs (eg Chelsea) are having an off season. Predictably, the vultures (agents from the rich 7) are now circling to snatch Brighton's best players, so they can use them as squad players/substitutes and maintain the status quo at the top. As for the other 13 PL teams, there are maybe 4 battling for 8th place and the other 9 just aiming to stay in the PL so they can rake in the cash. It is all so predictable, that I seriously think there should be a trophy for 8th place, as it is now the highest possible finish for ordinary clubs (outside the rich 7). Maybe another trophy could be awarded for finishing 17th, as it has become such a big deal for many clubs. Breaking news: I have just heard that the PL are going to present Manchester City with two trophies next week. One for the season that is drawing to a close and also the 2023/24 PL title. It will save the hassle and formalities of a lot of one-sided matches and will avoid their star players getting injured. The other 19 teams will play 36 matches next season and will all have 2 defeats against their name when the season kicks off It makes a lot of sense.

7 MONTHS LATER COMMENT: Radrizzani deserves some credit. What is forgotten is that he bought back Elland Road. He got rid of the debt and he achieved the "5 year plan" in 3 years. But as we saw it got chaotic the last 2 seasons in PL. I think the big mistake was to sack March just days after he had gotten his last signing in the january window. So you got a manager that want this and that player, he gets some good ones, for then to be sacked. So his vision forward with these players perished. And Garcia got a squad he didnt make, also Allerdyce should probably have been brought in instead of Garcia when they sacked March. Bringing him in for the last 4 matches is almost a joke. Anyway, Radrizzani is gone now. 49ers have taken over 100%. So we got stable a owner that have money (49ers Enterprises is a nice and very old lady), and seems to just be interested in 1 football club (not counting the ovalshapedball sport club) instead of something like City Group which have countless. And Rutter is doing a great job so far, he seems to be the right man. We are just unlucky with the overachievers above us. I hope he gets some money for january so he can build "his" team. At least it seems stable now and we will not see more then 2 seasons until we are back in PL. Hopefully just this season.
Anyone who acted as unprofessionally as Victor Orta whilst in the position of director/executive of a club, in such a public facing role, deserved to be sacked at the time of the indiscretion. Poor transfer strategy, unprofessional behaviour and a complete lack of strategic and infrastructure planning has led to this. Brighton have an identity and hire to complement it and execute it. Leeds hired an identity and failed to devise or implement their own and thus, once they sacked it, had nothing left. Radrizzani has always come across as a son with an inheritance whose dad bought him a plaything. Nothing Leeds have done in the past 2 seasons has screamed business decision, it's all seemed very emotionally driven. Leeds have the waiting list and need for a 50/60,000 modern bespoke stadium, hugely increasing global appeal and driving matchday and hospitality revenues in a rapidly growing city. They desperately need a new owner, new stadium and a new DoF with a top level track record who instills a core identity that is executed at every level of the club.
It’s bothered me how much US TV coverage has tried to push Leeds on the US due to their American signings. Imo Fulham is the natural USA mid-table club.

They were only in the CL for one season
they came 4th in 2001 the season after that 4th was made a champions leauge spot
@@purpledragons1146Jesus there's a name from the past. Wonder whatever happened to David O'Leary?
@@CrackaPackify The only team he managed other than Leeds was Aston Villa where he did shocking as well. I can't believe there's some Leeds fans who actually still like O'Leary.
Love watching your videos! So informative and researched so well
Could you do a video on how Swansea City went from the 4th to the 1st division then all the way back down to the 4th in just 9 years
You know your in trouble if you think Sam Allardyce is the man to save your decline!
The recent comments by Allardyce is actually a fantastic piece of man management. Immediately puts all the attention on himself and takes it off the players, which is exactly what they need.
As an Everton fan I live each day in fear for when our video gets released but at least I can take comfort in the fact it will be well made.
Not sure how you do it Alfie but compelling content every episode. Cheers from a football know nothing from Australia.
could you please make a video on SK Brann from Norway. the last five and a half years has been a true rollercoaster, including: losing the league title against rivals Rosenborg and facilitate Erling Haalands breaktrough in the same season (he scored 4 goals in 25 minutes agaist them, when they were unbeaten and top of the table), a complete collapse, internal turmoil, a scandal of pretty decent proportions, relegation afterone of the craziest games i've ever seen (6 goals and 1 red card in extra time, fell out on penalties), to being one of the hottest teams in Norway, obliterating every second tier record, reaching the norwegian cup final, being the better team against massive league favourites Bodø-Glimt and beating perennial league bullies Rosenborg in the span of 8 days (all 3 on the road).
My club is in turmoil unfortunately but we have been through worse and will come back stronger again. MOT
I thought that "Leeds days" came from a South Korean documentary about Park ji-Sung during his time at Manchester United, and was more about the decline in form of Alan Smith since leaving Elland Road than of the club itself
You're absoultely correct
As a non Leeds fan i was astonished when they sacked Bielsa and am now enjoying their hopeful decline.
Leeds are living rent free in your head I see!
Glad Ken Bates gets a mention, he did do the most intriguing thing in the history of English football, put up electric fences at Stamford Bridge...
By all accounts that was to stop the players leaving
@@iandawe948 To be fair, in that Chelsea team, I would want to leave as a player.
Love this series, I know it's not a club in the worst position in context of others, but the downfall of Spurs from Poch to no DoF and manager and no direction would be a good deep dive
No one gives a shit about spurs though 😂😂😂.
Tbh, as an outsider looking in. There is no " downfall" really.
Yes they got to a champions league final but other than that is just been business as usual. Not winning anything, Audi Cup doesn't count either. Middlesbrough have more domestic trophies in my lifetime for example.
Leicester City is a much better candidate than Spurs.
not really a downfall though.
How was Lassoga terrible? He might have had some bad games, but he certainly wasn't a failure
Alfe, good video as usual about Leeds United. Cool video and shout out to you for doing this.
@@jimbob-robob good players very rarely make good managers
@@jimbob-robob that's kinda sad tho
Also Leicester City. Their downfall is just as sad, probably even worse than Leeds as they were the ultimate underdog story back in 2016.
Fun fact: Leeds is the largest city in Europe that doesn't have an underground, tram or monorail network. Do with this info what you like.
Shows how underfunded Yorkshire and the North in general is
Loved this vid.
I remember the Leeds team of the late 90's/early 2000's. They were awesome.
One can only guess what has yet to come out when this season is over… the half time changing room vs palace holds an untold story….
Excellent content Alfie!👏
Loved this video Alfie
Love this mate thankyou MOT
Great video! Small point - I think "Leeds days" refers to the decline of Alan Smith rather than Leeds United. As in when he was at Man United you could lament at how much better a player he had been in his Leeds days.
Great video as always Alfie! Just seen Watford plan to honour Frank Soo, his life and career might make a good video idea!
If they get promoted, will they return to playing in the gigantic stadium?
@@ThreeRunHomer financially speaking, wouldn't be a bad idea if they could move the home games against Celtic and Rangers to big Hampden. More or less guaranteed sellouts or at least huge crowds, if they still play each other 4 times a year in Scotland then be worth a few million a season. Probably need to stay at liitle Hampden for the other teams though.

Stuff like this worries me so much about the future of west brom
Why on earth the EFL let our owners borrow £25 million with 15% interest, I dont know
The loan has been secured against our ground, club trademark and training facilities, and cannot be paid back unless we do the unthinkable on Monday and scrape a playoff place followed by an even more unlikely 2 leg win over Luton, and finally win a luck of the draw final at Wembley at the end of the month
Safe to say I do not think we'll be a championship club for very long
Worst of all, this loan was taken out to cover day to day running costs of the club (not to cover transfers), while the owner still owes the club £ 20 million in unpaid loans to cover his other business's costs due to losses during covid
That first PL table is mad. 10 points separating Liverpool in 6th and Palace in 20th...
In 04-05 season, the same anomaly happened in Italy. Roma only finished 8th with 45 pts, but ONLY 3 POINTS above the 18th-placed (and relegation zone) Bologna with 42 pts.
Defending and half-decent goalkeeping is certainly one think that is not going on at Leeds United....
The problem of leeds Is the one who fired March and brought Gracia, while March on charge I enjoy to watch the games, but Gracia team plays worse within the time.
If leeds save the category, which I see I very complicated the way they play hope they fire Gracia.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!
Great video and it’d be perfect if you also mention their spectacular rebranding with club crest
Truly feel for Leeds fans after watching this one. The club really deserves more competent management.
If they kept Marsh they would definitely have more points then they currently do, they sacked him right before their easiest 3-4 game stretch.
Man is a content machine
Good stuff Alfie! 👍🖖✊️
I’d love one on Blackburn
Sure they’ve just finished 7th this season and 8th last season but their fans have been told they have no money
they keep charging a ticket price like they’re still in the prem
The Steve kean era
The relegation season

And of course the venkys
I reckon it would make an interesting video
Update Steve waggott has upped the adult ticket prices from £380 to £430 and is supposedly gonna raise them again come the end of the month
Coventry fans warned our fanbase and half of them didn’t listen
Your tweet got serious traction. Funnily enough, I only found your channel last night, but I came across your tweet in the wild and left a comment. Only making the connection now because I recognized your screenshot in the video 😂
Some context to Leeds' infamous early 2000s decline: on New Years' Day 2002, they were top of the Premier League. Their next game was in the FA Cup against Second Division Cardiff, and they lost 2-1. They failed to win any of their next seven league games, slumped out of the top four, and remained outside it for the rest of the season. The rest is history.
Not a Leeds fan but wasnt there an issue with Johnathan Woodgate getting arrested in a nightclub brawl at the time which didnt help.

Class video that; very balanced.
Next suggestion- What on earth is going at Leicester City?- From the ultimate underdog PL Champions to likely going back to the Championship again.
Even though I became a Leeds fan during Bielsa time, I understand why he had to leave eventually. The loss of star players like Phillips & Raphina hurt the club so much. Stop hating on Sam Allardyce since he might be able to help us stay up another year.
Your deadpan sarcasm is fantastic 😂
Great video Alfie. Could you do a similar video on my Club Everton who are run equally as bad as Leeds if not worse?
hey Alfie, I was wondering if you could do a What On Earth... about Independiente in Argentina.
That season they got to the CL semi final was one of my favourite things in football, and I'm not even a Leeds fan

The other 19 teams will play 36 matches next season and will all have 2 defeats against their name when the season kicks off
It makes a lot of sense.

Regardless of what you think of "Big Sam", to be offered 500k per game and if they stay up an extra 2.5 mil, that's not bad going for less than a months worth of work and they're still easily in with a shot of staying up as Everton and Forest aren't exactly er... Pulling up any trees 😅😮😅.

Hopefully just this season.
what was worse?
Leeds sacking Bielsa or Chelsea sacking Tuchel? Both were absolutely diabolical decisions.
Victor Orta should find employment at Everton - a clown would fit in very well at a circus!
