geez, this place looks like something from straight out of the apocaylpse. gray skies, abandoned buildings that haven been used in decades, emptiness...a location scout for a movie would love this place. cool video
i used to live right across the street from there. the gym has always been safe which is the building way on the right and it has a pretty cool rooftop. its fairly clean and nice the last time i was there. if you ever go there the only building worth checking is the gym you will find a door in the back way down behind a dumpster and you have to pull it open super hard
I used to go there all the time, The following stores occupied the building, on the right side first was Danny’s discount, then Great America Grocery store in the middle , Als tool Crib then Fays on the most left side, It was on the opposite side of the tracks from SouthSideHighSchool, After Dannys discounb Closed there was Elmira Fitness Center in its place and a dollar store in place of fays
It's across the Railroad tracks from Elmira High School. Railroad tracks run behind the plaza. There have been all kinds if different stores in there over the years.
Far right end was a Danny Discount in the late 70s. Far left end was a Great American until the early 90s. Then the left end became a Fays Drugs. Until the mid 90s. There were various small shops in there in the 80s and 90s.
The plaza has been in disarray for awhile. The big store on the right hasnt been open in decades. The gym was last in that location around 2018-2019. The grocery store (Dollar Foods) left around 2011 - 2012. I believe it was a Eckerds at one point as well. The tool store was Al's Tool Crib and im not 100% certain when that came and went. Also I'm certain the doors and windows open was when there was a fire and the firefighters broke in a few years ago
the Danny Discount Store was there. Then Fays drugs. They just announced that they are trying to get something new on that property. It is in a rough area of Elmira.
@@JeremysRetailExploration I would send a link, but it's a discussion on the local FB group. No actual news story. I'm new to the area and wasn't sure where it was located; a Google search suggested your vid

Good idea staying safe and away. Great video too!
Good one Jeremy, short and sweet! Better safe than sorry!?
Great video Jeremy. You did the right thing. As the saying goes "Safety First"
Good video
Good video! I don't blame you for not looking inside! That plaza looks quite old! I wonder what stores were in there at one time!
I did some research, and I listed what I found in the video description.

Great video! This place definitely looks destroyed.
I'm a great grandma but I googled the place and it gave the information of what stores were in there before .
Yes, former store names are listed in the description.
I am watching from Elmira NY there is an abandoned and vacant house at 708 Sullivan Street in Elmira NY
I don't do abandoned houses, but thanks for telling me about it!

This place is honestly pretty scary

P.S. the owner is having it renovated and there's stores with plans to move in .
Is that in South Port?
Yes has been closed that long I grow up in Elmira I’m in my 40s
That place looks like it’s been empty for more than 20 years.
Al's tool crib.
I wonder who broke all the windows😅
What's so funny about that?
TD3 may have done it
He did not, nobody has been here
@@JeremysRetailExploration ok I know he has done a few so many abandoned places now
Anyone else land here because it's on fire right now? 😂
Oh wow!
