Your videos are more "real life" than most. It's refreshing and it's nice to get as much trail experience on your videos that we are. And including the minutia like putting on the rain coat, this is what we need. The trail is beautiful and despite this, slick, over produced, music driven videos get old fast. Yours are awesome and it's nice to look forward to them. Glad you're well.

You should show us the meals because I'm always curious what packaged meals look like when they're made. It helps me decide which ones to get!

Your videos just keep getting better. Such thoroughness in your coverage, capturing everything from the awesome to the awful. It takes real courage to film the lows as well as the highs, the misery with the majestic, but that is exactly what future thru-hikers need to see. A thru-hike is no walk through Disney World, as some vlogs portray it, and to depict it that way is not realistic. Thanks for keeping it real. The bar of excellence in vlogging is being raised. Well done.

I worked in The Smokies as well as hiked and camped all through the southern appalachians, orographic lifting can dump rain, storms and hail in isolated areas at any time. Just watch the clouds building and pack prepared to get wet at some time! Unpredictably predictable.

TBH I was more worried about Stephanie getting some antibiotics for her stomach than I am about you. You're doing good. Listening to your body and taking it slowly. To me, if stomach upset, vomiting and diarrhea lasts more than 24 hours you should find out what is causing it. Being on the trail and hiking you need to keep food and fluids down so your body doesn't dehydrate and you have the energy to continue. Hope she's on the mend now. Good luck to all.

I hadn't thought of giardia when you've mentioned Stephanie's stomach problems. Makes sense based on the symptoms. I first heard of giardia years ago with regards to beavers crapping in the lakes in Canada and then fishermen dipping their mugs in the lakes. They said the stomach cramping comes and goes really bad along with all of the other problems. Good thing she's going in to get checked out.

With both that's all the info you really need. Working on what to use to video. I ruined a $500 zoom lens due to rain. I carried a DSLR (camera is ok - lens not working anymore) and a Go-Pro. Trying to go lighter with the camera gear and maybe get a waterproof one. Looking into it. I've never used a camera on a cell phone before.
