@@stevenssteve2909 And I bet she had something pretty hard pressed against her backside. I mean come on the man's only human. And then she said don't touch my stomach why would she say something like that. It didn't make any sense she was using him to get out of an awkward situation. But he went along with it and she still made him feel cheap by putting his hand on her stomach in the first place.
"Cats came to my house today. Cause they know I'm a loser..." LMFAO her facial expressions and the way she delivered that line always cracks me up. Love Lorelai!!
I love the idea that Luke is looking over his shoulder at anyone seeing him or overhearing him using that audiobook...in the confines of his own home, in a building he owns. He knows Lorelai pops in unannounced too often.
@@Michael-rp5pv In case you did not see season 6, Spoiler Alert! Luke had a kid with Anna Nardini, he knew nothing about it. In this season, he was unaware about it.
@@Michael-rp5pv Come to think about it, April's introduction did feel a bit forced. Maybe the writers wanted to show that Luke also had things to compromise, not only Lorelie( Talking about Christopher paying for Rory's Tuition)
He brought it up because at least Lorelei has Rory in her life so she’s not alone; meanwhile Luke is divorced (having been married which is something Lorelei wants) and so that’s the comparison. It’s not a great comparison but they’re talking about life goals and landmarks I’d think.
That's exactly what happened. After they had that conversation is when he got this book which is what leads him to finally realizing his feelings for her and making a move.
But in the end it actually showed it was the opposite as Luke finally realized his feelings and did something about it. Then he gave the book to Jess meaning he realized the value.
Notice in my main comment I am not speaking specifically about the show. This rhetoric (therapy being a catchall or punchline) was everywhere in nineties and early oughts, and even before. I'm glad for the resolution for this arc for Jess and Luke, that taking time to learn to communicate actually helped them and made their lives better (not right away, though, as that rarely happens in therapy!).
The one thing I still dont understand is how Sookie was a LL shipper & as soon as Lorelai breaks up with Jason, she introduces Shel 🤔 whyyy on earth would she do that knowing Luke has been into Lorelai for so long & even worse, that Lorelai has feelings for him too!?!?!? If Im not wrong, Sookie is the second person after Emily who points out to Lorelai that Luke has been in love with her! ☹️☹️☹️
Honestly it’s a small moment, but I’ve always liked Luke with the self help book. He’s at a low point and is looking to try to improve things for himself and that’s not an easy thing to do. Especially for someone who struggles to express himself.
how is he supposed to write those 100 bucks up and square it with his inventory and taxes!? if you don't have the balls to properly buy the books you're probably not mature enough to read/listen to them. "Hey Luke, I'm just going to take some random items from your storage/fridge in the diner and here's a hundred bucks."
Keep in mind, this is the man who lets Lorelai Gilmore get away with murder. Or at least using her cell phone when he has a no cell phone rule and going behind the counter to get coffee.
“Don’t touch my stomach!”
“You put my hand there.” 😂😂
That line bothered me she didn't have to say that. That hurt Luke.
Actually, his hand brushed her under - boob.😂
@@Michael-rp5pv no it didn't? they banter like that throughout the whole series? hellloooo do we know the same lorelai?
always love that bit. i 💜 that whole scene of theirs in the kitchen

Luke’s face when she’s backing up into him 😂😂 great acting

I have a felling it wasn't acting.

Oh, Luke. Oh, sweet naive Luke.
Because Luke didn't have one.. He had a sham marriage but he didn't have his own kid.

Lol Lor all around Luke is hilarious
I watched 171 videos just to get to the part where Luke buys this damn book.
"Cats came to my house today...." that and "Don't touch my stomach!"
How they smile at each other at 02:20 is so🔥
Lorelai is funny because of the ✨trauma✨ (say thank you Emily and Richard)
1:14 is so cute
I wonder why Luke says, "At least you had a kid." Was it just a random thought or has he suddenly decided he wants kids?

That high?
I wish new books were still that cheap 😭
ah cassette tapes
I never noticed before but do we think Luke got self-help books after Lorelei mentioned them to him? 🤔
That's exactly what happened. After they had that conversation is when he got this book which is what leads him to finally realizing his feelings for her and making a move.
it bugs me how self help is seen as sappy and ineffective.

I think it's strange how little things bugs a person on the show. It's not that deep.
