The loyalty and love Luke had for Lorelai is needed in this awful world. The way he said you just keep thinking like you always do touched my soul. The way he love her for who she really is tells us everything.
one of the few times lorelai was dead right and made the right decision. he was reacting on his emotions and would have regretted throwing it away. she made the right choice and i'm glad he realized it.
Yes, I agree! But there were times it was the opposite. That is what I love about their relationship. For example let’s take Christopher where he was almost always in the wrong.
in the scene outside patty’s is so special bc you can just tell how in love with each other they are like their love for each other and how much they care for each other and this relationship is palpable in every word/act they say and do ;-;
They didn't want to loose each other over something as small as a boat, the way Luke kisses her to make her shut up and to let her know that they are still together ❤
The scene when he goes back to her garage and touches the boat made me cry. It felt like he was touching his dad , reconnecting and reuniting with him after 15 years. Scott Patterson's performance in this scene is genius. Huge kudos to Scott
I agree but I also think Lorelai (Lauren also needs a shout out for her acting here and so often in a scene like this) they both make it feel the hurt and love so well they both should have received far more credit than they get
Not sure if it was intentional makeup or lighting or something but Luke looks almost sick in this episode with heavy bags under his eyes Like is grief is showing through is face even though he's trying to hide it
I think it was easier to keep the boat in the garage. If the boat is left in the garage unfinished it symbolic for his father's unfinished life. Then Luke has to deal with feelings that his dad is really gone and the boat will remain unfinished.
I absolutely love this Luke. Then they threw it away with the daughter story. They messed up the character. I mean, he was always so mature with Lorelai and everything they had going on, and ready and willing to fix things, then they ruined him for the sake of a plot twist. Then they kept ruining him in the reunion. Yeah... just another Gilmore gilrs fan ranting here. Sorry.
I think it was just like he said that his emotions aren't very stable around his dark day, so much so that he could've wrecked his relationship with Lorelai, and it actually showed that Lorelai saved him from something he'd have regretted once he could think more rationally. Tbh I can't remember what he ended up doing with the boat but whatever it was was probably tons better than him having it thrown away on a whim while he was angry.
It's true but a lot of people who bury their emotions accidentally wind up saying and doing hurtful things when their emotional Achilles heel is hit. He didnt mean it, but he reacted very negatively.
I mean, it’s like he’s been holding onto that pain for so long, and not moving forward. He loved his dad, but keeping the boat wasn’t gonna bring him back. It would just remind Lukeof him, and he could never truly move on
He said he hadn't looked at it since his dad died. That's why he just wanted the lady to get rid of it. Seeing the boat would force him to confront his feelings.
...ive had worse non-sensical fights with my mom because i was stressed and hungry... and made worse bad decisions... this is the anniversary of his dads death he.. was... broken...
hhahah its the same as when a woman is telling her man how she FEELS and him dismising her feelings coz its not logical for her to feel this way. He told her how he feels and she acted against his feelings. This is not Luke being dumb - this is Luke being human.
He was upset .. He was emotional. Come on. You have never said anything out of emotions. How old are you? He apologized.. That's what happens in a relationship.
Even though it turned out she made the right choice, he had a point. She often ignores what he tells her and assumes she knows better. She's often right, but I bet Luke would like to be believed every once in a while.

One of the saddest episodes my heart goes out to Luke and Lorelai really handled it so well
idk in my opinion lorelai was dead right and made the right decision most of the time 😭😭 but yes she was correct here too

yes his eyebags were REALLY pronounced.
Lorelai is amazing in that scene, knowing he didn't mean what he said. Psh, I might have gotten very testy very quickly.
He doesn’t hang on to things ? He left his father’s store exactly how it was!!
Yeah, his mother's jewelry, his grandparents' bedroom set, he hangs onto certain things very tight. This was a very strange episode overall.
@@glenndallas7171 Shit, he hung onto the boat, paying rent on it, for 15 years. His actions directly clash with his words.

3:49 this kills me, you can tell how bad he feels about yelling at her.
no one gonna talk about how good ms patty is?
I undertand how Luke feels, november 22th its my dark day and it has been for 36 years.
True 4th December for me
August 21 is mine
Lorelai and sookie are so beautiful

Hated this scene. He doesn't make any sense trying to get rid of his Dad's boat. Who he loved immensely.

"Luke" es demasiado exagerado, trato mal a "lorelai",no era para tanto, eso era lo malo en sus actitudes, ella solo quiso hacer algo bueno por él.
Él claramente le dijo que en su día oscuro no sabe cómo controlar sus emociones, pero igual se disculpó con ella después.
And he apologize for what he said or did. Dang dude relax.
Luke being dumb. Sad scene

He not been dumb, he just do impulsive decisions
He wasn't being dumb at all.
Gilmore Girls Season 5 Ep 10 But Not As Cute As Pushkin
Why does he yell at her like that, she was just trying to help, can't stand him😤
He was upset .. He was emotional. Come on. You have never said anything out of emotions. How old are you? He apologized.. That's what happens in a relationship.
Yeah he did yell a lot didn’t he
