Thanks for posting the video. I enjoyed it. I also have an F600 Dump that I bought 2 years ago and use on my farm as a grain truck and for hauling gravel. Very handy. Just the other day I uploaded a video on it on my channel.

I just recently got a 1962 Chevy C60 with a 261 inline six, and it has a Heil dump bed also. I'm hoping to get mine back on the road soon and put it to work. Nothing like seeing these old trucks running around and still working.
@@mintyman1968 , mine used to belong to the US Forestry service and has been well maintained. Also, it's rust free and extremely low mileage. It's just been sitting for a long time and needs the typical things associated with that: brakes, tires, tune-up, etc. Right now, I just run it around and use it on the farm, but I'm looking forward to being able to it on the road.

Manual transmissions put more power and torque to the wheels than automatic transmissions and automatics cant take the strain of pulling heavy loads as much as standard transmissions can
Why didn't you road it home? Oh yeah, no brakes. I have been in so many of those old trucks that I can just smell the interior. Are you going to make it street legal or will is strictly be a site truck?

Awesome. I just purchased a truck very similar to that. 1968 F600 with a 330, as well as a Heil dump body behind it (I think yours is one too.)

@@jerrybrooks870 You got that right. Mine's a bigggg mess. Minnesota truck all it's life. I need to pretty much rebuild it from scratch.

Not so true anymore, though. Most, if not all, are automatic now
Did you change the oil and ALL the filters ?
No we didn't change the oil and filters. The truck was well maintained for a site truck. The truck does not see much activity these days.

Rick.. for now the purpose is strictly a site truck but I would consider making it street legal in the future. It wouldn't take too much!
