[thank, you for youre video. nice looking dump truck. i, own a 1973, Ford F-700 dump truck. 361 engine. 5-spd. manuel trans. 2-spd. rear axle. 5- ton. 10ft. dump body. air brakes] this, is the 3rd. engine over time.
Love it. Old timers smokin heaters, jaw jackin while the other says “will you shut up”. 100% real world America🇺🇸🤣🤣. Oh my gosh I had a shit eatin grin the whole vid!! I’m in to see your other adventures!
Well the master cylinder was dry. And had no brakes. The breather behind the seat let out a lot of air when pressing the brake pedal. And when I filled the master cylinder I pumped the brakes slowly to get air out of it. But when I stopped pumping the pedal it turned into a fountain of fluid for about 30 seconds. Never seen that happen before. So I’m thinking both need replaced. It also smoked a lot with no smell. So I’m thinking the booster has brake fluid in it and the vacuum was pulling the fluid from to the engine I take and burning it through the engine.
@outdooradventureswithbrayt3665 , you have to bleed the booster. The air in it is what is causing the fluid to fountain. The sequence for bleeding is to start with bleeding the brake booster first. It can have one or two bleeder valves depending on the booster. Next, you start with the farthest wheel cylinder from the booster and work back to the closest. You probably do have a leak in the system, it's most likely a wheel cylinder or the master cylinder. Hopefully, it's not the booster because they are hard to find. Nice truck. I had one like it, but mine was a flatbed not a dump. Mine was free to haul off. I didn't keep it very long. I ended up trading it off. I prefer Chevys.
I love that Truck !
