Seeing the Orangutang in the wild in Borneo was one of my highlights from of South East Asia last year! Love how excited you are!! They are such beautiful creatures. 🦧
Same!! We were just reminiscing about this experience recently and how amazing it was 😊 we’re in Central America right now so our next goal is to see sloths 🦥🥰
We were lucky enough to see them 😍 it’s our second Borneo video where we spent 2 days on the Kinabatangan River exploring the jungle - ua-cam.com/video/-y2Sd1E8jNQ/v-deo.html
You guys are so lucky to see Orangutans. Endangered species and can only be found in Borneo and some part of Sumatera. What a moment. Once in a lifetime. ❤
We flew there just for that we wished we could have stayed longer but this one experience was once in a lifetime. Thank you for your time and your comment 🙏🏻
This video made me laughed a few times especially when you guys visited the proboscis monkeys, they are like gangsters, ha ha ha. Glad you guys enjoy Sabah. If you guys like wild life and natural rain forest, you came to the right place. Cheers guys!

Welcome to Sabah, North Borneo and thank you for choosing Sabah as your destination. The Proboscis monkey are unique aren, t they? I love to see your reaction Jacqueline. You are so passionate about them.
Interesting fact for you. The local name for the proboscus monkey is Monyet(monkey) Belanda(Dutch) because of their very prominent nose. Though the sanctuary is privately owned i noticed that those monkeys are still wild even though they are used to visitors. The fact that there is no direct human interaction with the visitors except for the guides goes to show that the monkeys are free to roam the area and not in enclosure.
Haha 😂 it was an incredible experience but they were feeding them pancakes which is not a part of their normal diet but yes you’re right there is very little interaction even with the feeders
Welcome to Sabah, the gem of Malaysia rich with natural beauties n wildlife🌿 Sabah also go the smallest primates in the world, the Tarsier, but it only come out at night and very elusive
Thank u for this wonderful video n for showing your explorations in Sabah. That looked like a spectacular adventure. Those animals r so amazing in d beautiful sanctuary.
My experience up close and personal with orangutan was during a rainy day and i was soaking wet. Suddenly a small orangutan came close and handed me a big leaf. The dude even showed me by putting another leaf on top of its head. It stayed there till i put it on my head and it just left. The guy next to me was holding an umbrella. And it was the orangutan that gave me a shade. Funny how it works..
@@MaxandJacqueline I hope you saw all 5. 1. Pygmy elephants - the most difficult to see. But you can hear them. 2. Proboscis 3. Orangutan 4. Crocodiles 5. Hornbills
To my surprise, you guys did not go to the National Elephants Sanctuary in Pahang which is only 1 and half hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. You can enjoy feeding and bathing them in the river.
Hey Shay, that sounds incredible but we’ve been told interacting with elephants in that way is very stressful for them, stay tuned though because we are volunteering at an elephant sanctuary in Cambodia which is amazing!
Local Sabah here. Well, it was lucky moment you’re not run away from those running proboscis monkeys toward the platform. It’s kind a bit dangerous if they accidentally hit to someone.
Thanks guys, excellent video, especially when the stampeding monkeys came charging through! Good that you are thinking ethically too, whether wild or private I guess it all depends on whether it is of benefit to the animals - if so then it's good. I'm off to Borneo next year so can't wait for that.
You will cherish this moment for a long time. Although there are efforts to save the orangutans there's no guarantee they will thrive because their natural habitat is constantly being encroached by humans.

Borneo's rainforest is two times older than the Amazon. They are about 130 million years old. Absolutely stunning
How incredible is that!!! So so beautiful
Amazon is 55m yo
Borneo lowland is 140m yo
Peninsula is about 130m yo
Malaysia has the oldest tropical rainforest in the world
Australia's daintree forest is the oldest rainforest at 180m yo
@@keangwooichoo6138 Any difference between tropical rainforest vs rainforest?
@Jonathan Lim of course. It is the tree species and on earth only 1 equatorial area(belt).
