We’re cycling the entire island so we have a lot of stops we will be making and planing to head to Kenting National Park so should be heading that way 🧡
It's always to be exciting and happy to see foreign tourists come to Taiwan and enjoyed Taiwan. Btw I saw you thought that the metro card cost you 35 NT dollars, actually it depends on how many stop you pass. When you tap on and enter a station, it will not cost any money, and when you tap off your card while you arrive your destination, the machine will count how many stop you have passed and charge the corresponding money.
That’s a decent food tour. They took you to a lot of types of food I love but not always on tourists radar Taiwan fruits and vegetables are delicious! The plum powder also tastes very good on the fried sweet potato balls

U 2 should try beef soup noodles and other soup noodles and dry noodles and omeso (thin noodles) and zongzi and baozis and oyster omelet and Taiwanese dumplings and Boba milk tea and yo tail with soybean milk juice and Taiwanese roast beef and rice and Taiwanese mango shaved ice and other fruits ice cream and gwaobao (Taiwanese hamburger)and Taiwanese sausage and Taiwanese yogurt drink and pineapple cakes. It's all delicious. And sesame balls.
Stinky tofu, typically served fried, is the most popular version because it’s less pungent and more acceptable to tourists. Steamed stinky tofu, though rarer in Taiwan, is much stronger in smell. Originating from China, stinky tofu came to Taiwan with immigrants around 80 years ago. Back then, roadside vendors favored frying due to its simplicity, making it more mainstream. However, some prefer the steamed version for its traditional flavor, especially among the descendants of immigrant families. I don’t think your guide’s choice was bad. If your goal is to experience the full intensity of stinky tofu’s smell, the steamed version is the best option.
We’ve had an amazing time exploring Taiwan, we have not found any problems? The cycling has been mostly very safe and the traffic has been so courteous ☺️
Jacqueline next time, you and Max should try the deep-fried version of Stinky Tofu with Fermented Sour Cabbages. The Deep-Fried Stink Tofu is a lot more bearable, tolerable, and edible since it’s less fermented than the Non-Fried Stink Tofu and it’s fried.
Your tour guide literally fed you guys the worst version of the stinky tofu lol. I don’t think the locals even like to eat that version. The popular one is the fried version.

The smell really is a lot! It just attacks you in all the night markets 😅 we love Taiwan and the food but stinky tofu we can’t get on board yet!
